  1. I'd like to see it rethemed to horse racing with steeplechase trains.
  2. I don't "get" gigas. They're a holdout of the bigger is better coaster records race of the '90s and early '00s. If it is one I'll enjoy it, but I would so much rather have a new GCI woodie.
  3. A type of bread. A Pennsylvania park logo. A flat surface with no thickness. Wouldn't THAT be awesome?
  4. A wooden coater younger than disco, leisure suits, and CB radio would be nice. Can you imagine if the situation were reversed and KI's youngest steel coaster were the Screamin' Demon?
  5. The big ugly box might be removed as was the big ugly box at CP. I'd say a looping coaster is less likely than a non-looping one given Banshee.
  6. Channeling Terp: "I learn the darndest things here."
  7. It's all about the footers folks.
  8. I don't think the log flume is going anywhere at least because of this project. If it were in the way of construction for something in 2017 it most likely be closed or even gone now. A new coaster could go around or over the log flume. If the land is suitable this could go very far off into the woods, maybe into the woods near The Beast run into the station.
  9. ^^ Right, their job is to hype new attractions as much as possible. It's not in their best interest for everyone to know. IF it's a coaster the telltale signs will emerge. Also guys, I know we live in a marketing dominated-business world, but remember it is much more important for a new attraction to be good than marketable. SOB was perhaps the most marketable coaster ever built, and how many millions went down the tube with that one? If it's wooden, you might not be able to hype records but it might just be the most fun ride in the park.
  10. It wouldn't be typical as of late, (post-Kinzel era). However, CP is getting Valravn after only 3 years. I'm curious if there was some kind of multi-coaster deal there or possibly if Valravn was originally intended for another park. If it is a wooden coaster at KI for '17, that will certainly be cheaper than any B&M which may make more sense ROI wise. Annnnnnnd remember when Mr. Ouimet mentioned "replacing" SOB with another coaster to a member here, (I believe TheLip2). If you take that generally that would be Banshee. If you take that specifically that could be a new woodie. Trying to contain my anticipation. ***Edit: I went back and found it. Wow, that was 4 years ago! http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/25487-met-mr-ouimet-yesterday-sat-5512-at-ki-rip-sob/
  11. My personal opinion/semi-informed guess is we will know soon IF it's a coaster and if so what kind. A B&M would very likely be a giga. If it's a B&M you'll probably see footer holes in early May and poured footers by early June. Likewise if it's wood coaster it will be very apparent soon. Wooden coasters take longer to build and you'd see the aforementioned many little piling style footers. https://purecoaster.com/2012/11/20/gold-striker-construction-update/ Edit: Provided link with pictures of GoldStriker construction in 2012... pretty telltale signs.
  12. My question is if this is a coaster where will it go? There's not all that much room. I know you can fit a coaster were it doesn't seem like there is room (Cedar Point). Would you think it would share the area where WWC is now. I wouldn't want to see a lot of trees go. Any of those famous paint shop layout-drawing guys out there? ^*Consider Darien Lake
  13. Cedar Fair won't go with RMC. 1.They don't have the perfect safety record that GCI has. 2.They haven't dealt with them. 3.They are very expensive. I'm pumped. I believe this to be a coaster given how early this is. I really really want a new wood coaster. If it is a wooden coaster it will be unmistakable. There won't be large footers They'll be many, many little pilings in rows forming a line.

Mostly true, but I'm still curious how GCI's Viper is in China. I wouldn't doubt that GCI can build 100 ft+ woodies successfully that aren't maintenance nightmares. I think so much of it is trains and dedicated track upkeep. http://greatcoasters.com/?p=viper

Yeah, sounds like spin for "We are neutering the ride to reduce maintenance costs, since the other idea didnt work out as planned". Im definitely looking forward to riding RF II this summer for the first time, because I have heard a ton of really good reviews. I never said it was sustainable! Somehow Raven and Legend escape typical CCI and GG troubles. Actually, they don't. Each has cost a small fortune to maintain. Raven loves to develop potholes and didn't I read something about a lot of redo on Legend this year? I wonder why that could be. Hmmmm. Thanks, that makes sense. I'm sad to see Legend is being neutered if that truly is the case. The most interesting part is long turn to the right which is banked to the left. I hope that part remains the same.

I like The Voyage because the two things I like best in a coaster are that out of control feeling and airtime. It definitely has both of those in spades. Oh and it's very long and has tunnels!

SOB's Premier trains were the worst though. I've heard those were supposed to be prototypes or temporary, although I'm not sure if that was true.

I like CCIs and GGs better than GCIs because of the intensity but the durability is not there. I wonder if that's mainly because they used PTCs

I've always heard gushing reviews of MF, and I know it's the favorite coaster of any type of a lot of enthusiasts. To each his own. I'll count you out because RMC doesn't make wooden coasters. It seems the bigger a coaster gets the more unremarkable the layout must get to lessen the g forces on riders. In addition, gigas must have a VERY long track length to maintain a decent ride time because of the speed. The only giga that stands out to me is Steel Dragon 2000 which might as well be called Magnum XL-300.

I've only ridden one giga but if Millennium Force is the creme de la creme, count me out. At Cedar Point alone I prefer Magnum, Raptor and Dragster. I'm on Team Wood Coaster.
  24. This is a sad sign of the times. You're on a ROLLER COASTER and you STILL need a screen.

^^ I'm surprised it's not destined for the world's premier destination for fun, X-Works!
