  1. What the park expected was people would be excited that there is an extra surprise in the ending, not that literally almost hundreds of enthusiasses would overhype it in their minds thinking it would be on par with Disney effects.
  2. Excellent additions! I am just about ready to take my family to experience some new parks and Hershey has been on my radar for some time now.
  3. Granted, Millennium Force has had some downtime, but I am thinking it hasn't been down that much. It's a pretty reliable coaster. It will be interesting when KI gets a giga, which manufacturer they go with. As far as Intamin saying that you can expect downtime, I am not sure if they were referring to all of their coasters, or the ones that pushed the envelope with new technology, ie Top Thrill Dragster. I would have to see what they said and in what context the statement was being made. Not so sure that was just a blanket statement to say expect downtime with anything they produce.
  4. I would like to see a good flat ride added to X Base along with some bathroooms. GWL is cool, but I would like to see different accommodations that aren't so expensive to stay at. I come from 3 hours away and I love the Super 8 Mason, but it would be nice to have something on site.
  5. And...we should compliment those who maintain this very site that we use and love so much. Ryan and all the mods deserve a lot of credit for their hard work in bringing us information and helping pass along interesting news concerning our home park and other happenings within the Cedar Fair chain. Much love
  6. I will say it over and over again. I do not trust riding anything portable that has been taken apart and reassembled numerous times throughout the year. Not to mention the conditions in which they are more than likely stored.
  7. Or long trains that seat 4 per car, like Millennium Force.
  8. The accident on Shoot the Rapids is what is stated to be the reason. I wouldn't at all be surprised if KI gets an Inatmin Giga. CF has recently said they renewed their relationship with a certain company that one would infer had gone sour. So anything is possible. I have not been on a B&M giga, but I have been on Diamondback (not a giga I know) and I find it less thrilling.
  9. On another topic I created, I had a very pleasant experience with guest services. I had bought the Coaster Combo tickets, took my trip to KI, and then accidentally threw out the tickets before I had used them on my trip to Cedar Point. They looked up my purchase, shot me another email with the link to print off the tickets again. I was really thinking I had blown it.
  10. Personally, I like Fast Lane the way it is. I think if you had different price points that are cheaper, your FL line would wind up being longer than your regular line, which defeats the entire purpose.
  11. Having grown up in the 80's, the logo always reminded me of a band called Autograph and their logo. http://ultimateclassicrock.com/files/2014/10/RCA.jpg?w=600&h=0&zc=1&s=0&a=t&q=89
  12. Well, CF certainly has made a good bit of money from my family. With my trips to Cedar Point and Kings Island, I spent a good amount of money. Tickets for 3 people for 2 days each park, Fast Lane for 3 people for one day each at both parks, plus preferred parking, food, and souvenirs. But don't take this the wrong way, I am not complaining, just pointing out that the focus on families was a good decision. We definitely had a great time at both parks. Every dime we spent was well worth it. Fast Lane was a great way to maximize time. Good to hear there was a significant paydown in their debt.
  13. Regardless of capacity, I think this coaster is an excellent addition for SFFT. Maybe we shall see larger installations with the Trex Track. Will be interesting to see if CF installs either model at any of their parks.
  14. Thanks goettablitz! Then I am wondering why only the one seat version for that large of a park? I can't imagine that anyone larger than MIA would want one with such low capacity. From what I understand, their ops aren't so quick.
  15. I think this ride looks really good. I am wondering if future installations could not include 2 across seating to increase capacity? It's good to see RMC getting into something different for the market.
  16. Having done this at Cedar Point, they shoot you an email almost instantly with a link to print off all of your pics at home if you choose. Or you can print whichever ones you want at $5/photo while there. I chose to have mine printed at the end of the day while there. I am thinking it's around $39.99 for the Fun Pix deal, plus the $5/photo to print them there. Or you can just follow the link to print them off at home.
  17. ^It looked interesting, to say the least. Not sure how comfortable I would have been to go through a corkscrew on a suspended coaster anyway.
  18. I only ever saw a model of a suspended coaster (like The Bat) with an inversion. I am not sure there ever was a test track outside of that model, which actually worked. But, I am not as well versed in these things as maybe someone else here.
  19. I should apologize as that link to the video was pretty much a sensationalized story to make headlines. As Maverick44 pointed out, none of those issues have anything to do with the accident that happened. Hopefully, we will get an answer soon. A thought that occurred to me. I understand metal can become fatigued. There are many steel coasters that are much older than that ride. Why are those still standing but this ride had a bad failure? I am sure the stresses are different, but a steel structure like Vortex has had to endure quite heavy trains plus Ohio winters can be bad. Just curious is all I guess.
  20. I thought it had the appearance of rust as well. I should have said if it proves in fact to be rust, then that is an issue
  21. So, if the Screamscape rumors are true, we could see a return of antique cars to KI. Just to reiterate, Cedar Point has two car rides, which seems like overkill to me. They could move one to KI and free up some space. Albeit probably not a ton of space, but maybe space that could be combined with area from somewhere nearby for a new attraction. Something we will have to keep an eye on. It was also stated that the area by BL:SC could be a possible destination.
  22. It does not specifically mention what issues it had. But this does give all injured and families of deceased something that would be brought up in court. Many people have speculated from the pic of the arm that you can see rust that has been painted over. That's an issue if you ask me
  23. According to the Charlotte affiliate of NBC, this ride had problems when it was there the week before. http://www.wcnc.com/news/events/fatal-fair-ride-in-ohio-was-in-charlotte-just-weeks-ago/460089038
  24. Hypothetically speaking, where would anyone suggest placing an antiques car type of ride? Sans removing BL:SC as I don't believe that would happen.
  25. I would also add something that I have heard from the GP and there is some truth to it. They feel that the coasters at Cedar Point are a lot smoother and more accommodating than KI's coasters. Vortex is one of those that are brought up. They do not know which ones were built last year compared to which ones were built in 1987. All they know is, Vortex seems to be a headbanger and the track rougher.
