What would you hate to see go at Kings Island
I'm with most of you, really I would hate to see any more rides leave the park. If I just had to pick one though, it would be The Vortex. I really hope it continues to run strong for many more years and maybe get a special 30th anniversary commemorative type deal when the time comes( shirts, pendants, maybe a little cake like they've done for The Beast? ) I feel it deserves it as it is a guest favorite and it's been a hardy piece of machinery. I'd also have to say Flight Deck or Adventure Express. There is something just heart wrenching about losing any more classic Arrow coasters; especially a great suspended swinging coaster which we all know is becoming a dying breed and a fantastic mine train coaster which is still one of the best I've ever been on.

- Flat rides
I will probably be the lone lady here on this one, but I would love to see a Power Surge ride put in the park somewhere. If there was any possibility to have one on a larger scale for capacity's sake, I found this to be an enjoyable and fun ride as well as fun to watch too.- BANSHEE: The Poll
I wish people would just be grateful we are at least getting another big coaster and that its actually well thought out and has some noteworthy specs. They could have just passed us over and left the land vacant for another few years with nothing new. I agree with there being a lot of hateful things being said on Facebook. Nothing is ever good enough for some! As for me, and as I've stated before, I'm grateful and am excited to get to the park on opening day next year to ride this beauty! It's a;ways a lot of fun to have something new to look forward to for the next season. Not to mention I love going the last day the park is open to take pictures of the construction. I still have old pics of Diamondback from the last day of the 2008 season when it wasn't even near completion. Really fun to look back at old pictures like that and then see the finished product on its opening day!- Flight Deck to become the Bat?
If a re-theme did happen and since the walk back there is pretty long for such a short ride, I think the walk could be made more interesting with Bat theme related decor to help heighten the excitement for what lay ahead. Add some lighting effects for eve/night treks back there. I just see so much potential to liven up that area and help give such an underrated coaster a little love. Even if none of this happens, its still a lot of fun to use your imagination.- Flight Deck to become the Bat?
I think a retheme would be really neat, but in reality I don't see that happening. Le sigh. On a side note, I gotta say this is going to be pretty wild having an old Arrow Suspended coaster nearby a brand new B&M invert. Two generations of suspended type coasters from different times and designers sitting pretty close to one another. This will be a unique sight!- Starting to Decode 2014
All I can say is I am really grateful the park is finally getting an invert!!! I absolutely LOVE me a B&M invert and have always wished there was one at a park closer to me than Cedar Point or SFGA. Now that wish has come true with Banshee! Love everything I am seeing and reading right now! I also love the colors. I know someone had already mentioned that, but I really feel like this coaster will greatly liven up such a dead section of the park! I also hope they do not fill the tracks with sand and let tha baby roar like a Beemer should! ( but I doubt they will let it kick up some noise...I gotta say thats one of my favorite things about Raptor at CP, is that wonderful roar that lets you know it means business!) Next year cannot come fast enough! I will be there rain or shine!- Watch The 2014 Announcement LIVE
Thank you CoasterGeek101 for streaming the action! I watched it and I am stoked for the new ride! I will also say I am a little shocked they actually decided to go with the Banshee name, but I dig it. I also dig the renderings I've seen on the main website and the colorscheme too. That will really add some color to the area!- Delirium vs maXair
I love MaXair for all the reasons most of you have mentioned. But I do have a soft spot for Delirium. It reminds me so much of my young teenage -hood. I was 14 when it opened and it reminds me of my early years as a park enthusiast. I often miss those days. And I miss those days of Kings Island.- Going alone to Kings Island
I've personally never been to any park alone, but I don't really think it would bother me too much. I've gone with people but have ridden rides alone and don't mind it at all. I like to meet new people who share a love of coasters and I enjoy the serenity of truly being able to soak up the ride as a whole and not the people next to me all the time. Generally I enjoy the company, but going alone (or even going with people but riding alone) isn't always such a bad thing- 2013 KI Gay Pride Night
I'm planning on attending this event for the first time this year and am excited since I hear nothing but good things about this night. I think it's great Kings Island hosts such a unique event for people to come together in an environment that showcases acceptance and of course a love for coasters- Join Us Online for the 2014 Announcement Live!
- Best smelling/sounding ride
Best sounding ride: Vortex. I'm a sucker for the sound of the chain lift Best smelling ride: Diamondback. I still can smell the wood from the fence and station that has a nice aroma. Just adds to the experience (same with Maverick)- Worst roller coaster you've ever ridden.
Wild Beast at Canada's Wonderland. I found it to be incredibly rough, shaky and just overally a terrible ride. I knew just by going up the lift there was going to be a bad ride ahead. And to top it all off...my poor cousin had her "chest pieces" pop out of her shirt because it was that bad... Thankful for her, there was no camera to take a shot of that...- Steel Dragon 2000 receives B&M trains
Whatever the reason for the leg restraints, I personally enjoy my rides on B&M's coasters with my legs freely able to stick straight out and have my hands up. Makes me feel like I am flying over the hills. I am sure the patrons riding Steel Dragon are not complaining about these new trains though and probably wouldn't really be bothered by the leg restraints seeing as the old trains did not allow for free swinging legs anyways.- KI/CP combo ticket
This is definately a great deal for those who are not season pass holders. I have a Platinum Pass myself, but I would suggest something like this to friends who are not, or even to my mom who enjoys going and riding coasters with me but is not a pass holder.- Starting to Decode 2014
From the topic thread that was closed about the "Banshee" name rights being held by Cedar Fair now, I just wanted to say that what I said is true about the name not wanting to be used in the past for what we now know as Mantis, due to the words meaning. Even RCDB says so, which is a credible source. http://rcdb.com/7.htm "Etymology: Initially, Mantis was to be named "Banshee". In Irish folklore, a Banshee is a female spirit whose wail was said to foretell a death in the family. After this definition was printed in a local newspaper, the "Banshee" name was dropped in favor of "Mantis". The original "Banshee" logo would later come to be that of Dorney Park's Steel Force." Just wanted to clear this up. I make sure I do some reserach before I go posting stuff like this. Anywho...- new ride named banshee
Funny, I remember when Mantis at CP was supposed to be originally named Banshee, but due to its Irish origins of a woman wailing before a death, they opted not to name the ride that as not to cause problems with the general public. I can't honestly see them ever using that name now if they opted not to then...but that's just my view point- Animals in the park
I've seen deer just grazing and chilling out near the little wooded area right before Flight Deck goes down the first drop. It made me smile They didn't even seem phased, but I guess they just adapt to all the noises and commotion around them. Makes me think of all the seagulls at Cedar Point and how they will just swoop by so close to you even while you're riding! ( That happened to me while on Gatekeeper! A seagull with nesting materials flew by within a hairs breath of my feet! Made me chuckle )- Top Gun/Flight Deck Construction
That is a really neat picture, Fear the Four! I haven't seen many early renderations/advertisements for Top Gun/Flight Deck!- X Base
I still wish they offered helicopter rides over there. I thought that was really unique when they did that back in the day. Then again the area wasn't known as X Base and only had FoF over there, but I just remember how cool it was to have the opportunity to ride in a helicopter over the park.- No More FUN Perks?
Although this made me a little sad to see this program go, I am sure they are working on coming up with something better to reimburse passholders. I used my coupon for $9.99 to take my mom for Mother's Day. We went a week after since I was at Cedar Point for Gatekeeper's opening weekend, but we had a blast and it was nice being able to get her in at a cheap price. At least they are giving us something, but I hope to see some kind of program return for purchasing items/food in the park. I liked the concept a lot.- Your KI Diet
I enjoy getting my LaRosa's fix ( especially when its fresh out of the oven ) and a large Coke. Later on I enjoy a chocolate/vanilla swirl waffle cone with...yes...sprinkles- Silverwood: SpinCycle
I'm sure this ride will be a hit with thrill seekers and those who are flat ride junkies. Looks like fun. I would ride it. Kinda makes me think of the former Jet Scream at Canada's Wonderland combined with Delirum/Maxair.- Your Music Taste
Naturally as a DJ, I am mixing and cranking out more electronic/hip-hop and rap music to keep the dance floor moving, but as a music lover I thouroughly enjoy a little bit of everything. If I like the song, I don't care what genre it is. I feel that without music, we would not be here. Music has personally gotten me through some of the worst times in my life and I know it has done the same for countless others. - Flat rides
