  1. This seems to have turned into a rant thread. I understand people are frustrated, I myself included, but at times it feels excessive and comes off as obsessive.
  2. I wonder if they’re still considering a hyper for them in the future
  3. It’s very similar to what you hear ascending Beast’s lift hill
  4. My timetable has a 5 minute stop between journeys, so in theory they could fill up while loading passengers. I’m not entirely sure how many laps an engine can go without needing to fill back up though
  5. Dumb thought, creating longer lines might encourage people to buy fast lanes?
  6. Those people who are the most vocal about the park’s communication are those who have a communication background of some kind whether they’ve studied it in college, worked in a communication related field, or are in charge of large groups. People aren’t complaining just for the sake of complaining or because they have a personal vendetta against the park’s communication department….. they saw how the PR was run in the past and how that quality has gone down recently. Even people who aren’t super familiar with the PR aspect are noticing the questionable communication practices as of late.
  7. No but it’s become somewhat of a standard. Don also used his personal account for park related stuff.
  8. I hope this ain’t the case with Winterfest. Haunt becomes less “haunty” every year and seems to be more rides focused imo.
  9. I think he should still be the one to DM since the person is asking a question as opposed to him asking them to DM him. It just sounds a bit nicer.
  10. Twitter is a weird beast- anyone can tweet anyone at anytime. Don used his Twitter to promote park content so people would naturally expect the same for Chad. People are going to go directly to him because it’s so easy to tweet at someone (unless of course they’re blocked.) If Chad doesn’t want to directly answer questions on Twitter I think it might be appropriate to DM the questioning party the “contact us” link, or at least reply to the tweet and say “please direct all questions to the ‘contact us’ page on our website.”
  11. Being the nerd I am, I worked out a timetable where a single train makes 3 round-trips an hour assuming the water park is open: I watched the webcams and timed the trains. If the time table is correct, to maximize efficiency, a train can do 3 full trips an hour leaving Rivertown at :00, :20, & :40 of every hour which includes the wait in Soak City. Two train operations would allow for a combined 6 trips an hour with the second train leaving Rivertown at :10, :30, & :50 of every hour. This probably would never happen but it would be absolutely awesome if it ran on an organized time table for the busy hours.
  12. Right? All that’s doing is making people wonder why he’s asking her to DM him. He could’ve easily DM’d her and wouldn’t make it weird.
  13. I wonder if the blue, gray, and white are the train colors.
  14. I’ve been having some additional thoughts on the communication situation. When people reach out to Chad on his personal Twitter, he doesn’t necessarily need to respond and has the ability to block whoever he wants- corporate isn’t in control of his personal Twitter…. …..That being said, he does make park related tweets and it’s well known who he is and what his position is- he should want to answer questions. Also it’s not a good look to block people who are asking simple questions. With regards to the “DM me” issue, I’ve tweeted at companies before with inquiries and they either answered them right then and there or they would DM me, not the other way around. When you tell people to DM you, you’re making them to ask the same question in private. If they don’t send you a DM, then you don’t have to be bothered answering their questions.
  15. I agree, I’m not a current fan of the overlap. I liked when the Great Pumpkin Fest was in Soak City because parents could enter and exit through the waterpark and avoid the chance of running into monsters all together. Only problem was, they’d still need to walk or take the train to the main park if their kids wanted to ride things since the water park only featured select Halloween activities.
  16. To me, it just seems….effortless- effortless from those who make the final decisions on things, effortless from those who are meant to build up the bridges of communication instead of burning them down. Its irritating because there are people who genuinely care about the status of the park and it’s assets.
  17. @CoastersRZ my family and I went today and I would have to agree with what you said. It’s like they don’t want to communicate certain things closing early like the train and the drink stands out of fear that people will leave early or not show up at all.
  18. If this is a mini dive, will it be the 7 train variant that we saw Fiesta Texas get or will they stay with the 6 seater?
  19. As a communication major who also had a minor in marketing, it’s vexing to see people’s basic questions can’t be answered.
  20. Didn’t Fearfest implement something like that when it started?
  21. If I recall correctly, when Don was responding to posts, they were short and accurate. If you’re a park rep and you’re being attacked on social media, the best you can do is offer an answer. If they’re not satisfied then refer the upset person to the park’s “contact us” page which takes the conversation away from social media and makes it private. Amanda asked a pretty simple question that doesn’t really require an answer via DM…. It’s not like she said that she had a terrible experience with a Park employee- in that instance, a DM would be appropriate. In this case, however she was just asking a question that a lot of other people have had. Constantly asking people to DM you comes off as “I don’t want to answer the simple question on a social media platform, if you want to know the answer, you need to contact me directly.”
  22. It’s a communication technique where the poster doesn’t want anything said over a public feed. We had to do so many assignments in college that mimic this.
  23. For example, I’d put the trains on a timetable so you can know what time to expect them.
  24. Fox 19 is at the park this morning. It’s odd to see Frank Marzullo walking around in front of International Street talking about Grand Carnivalle without a park representative to talk to.
  25. When GCI redid Ghostrider, they used their own trains When RMC converts coasters, they use their own trains I’m sure Zamperla is going to use their own trains for their conversion
