I noticed them doing that too. When I went last time, there where people in Fast Lane that had to wait like 4 rides on Surf dog because of uneven amount of people though, so it seems fastlane isn't always favored.

When I went about a week or so ago, I was getting dropped off and the lady let us get dropped off right by the entrance, near the security office. She let us do that because the regular drop off was so packed. All we had to do was pay for parking, then show our receipt at the security office, and then my mom had to show it again after she dropped us off and they payed us back.

I was at KI a couple of weeks ago and Vortex was down almost the whole day. It was down until about 12pm and then closed again around 5pm. It had gotten stuck on the lift hill both of those times.
