I should point out that these were not restaurants where I experienced the problem. It was mainly just the snack type places where they sell like popcorn and drinks and what not. And also the Cinnabon place. And to answer your question, no I did not tell guest relations but was wondering if maybe I should. I agree with some of the stuff some other people said, if you're going to pay those types of prices they should be mindful of getting you through the line with the best service possible. Waiting in line for 15-20 minutes to get a drink isn't acceptable in my opinion.
  2. Thank you! I did edit my post because it was causing such a stir! I didn't think it was such a big deal, they told me over the speakers to stop filming so I did. I just closed my screen and turn my cam off. No big deal. I actually listed the incident in my report as sort of a joke, not thinking that I was going to get the third degree and accused of being a criminal. I was with my g/f and my 9 yr old niece...in a log, going up a lift hill. I wouldn't have done anything that I felt was dangerous. I understand the rules, but wasn't necessarily mindful of the danger on the log flume. It was my first and only time and I didn't mean for this to get so out of hand.
  3. Sure dropping objects is forbidden. I said couldn't taking pictures and video from the top of the Eiffel Tower also be dangerous? I've seen people up there stick their phones and cameras through the bars to get a clear shot. What if they dropped them? I'd be far more worried about falling cameras from the Eiffel Tower than I would be floating cameras in the log flume. I'm not quite sure how I could hurt someone filming or taking a picture from inside a log.
  4. I never said that the line on Adventure Express was longer than 30 minutes. I just said that the line extended to the entrance of the ride. Also, I was not filming on Diamondback nor any other coaster in the park. I said I tried to grab a few seconds of film on the lift hill of the log flume. I was unaware that no filming signs were posted for that ride. Yesterday was the first time I've had my camcorder at the park and that was because I was with my niece. Also, don't you think it could be dangerous if someone is filming from the top of the Eiffel Tower and they decide to stick their camera through the railing so that they can get a clear shot? What if they dropped it? Seems to me like I'd be far more concerned about people taking pics/video with phones, cameras or camcorders at the top of the Eiffel Tower than the lift hill of the log flume. Not saying I was right filming on it, I'm just saying it seems more dangerous to me that's all.
  5. I've never filmed or taken pictures on any of the rides. I recently purchased a very light, very small camcorder and thought I'd film for a few seconds going up the lift hill on the log flume. Didn't think it would be dangerous. Wasn't planning on filiming on the whole ride or even the hill. Crazy thing is that I took my same camcorder to Disney World last summer and filmed on just about every ride including Splash Mountain which is also a log flume. Never once got in trouble, not even on their coasters. Just didn't think too much about the log flume being dangerous. Obviously I'd never try to film on a coaster or something. Saw some teen girls filming themselves on The Vortex yesterday with their phone. No wrist strap or anything. I thought that was dangerous, wouldn't really attempt something like that.
  6. I'm sorry, but I didn't think that trying to get a few seconds of film of my niece and girlfriend while going up the lift on the log flume would be such a big deal. It wasn't like I was trying to film myself on Firehawk or something. It's not like we were even on the actual ride part...it was the lift. And it was a little 1 pound, hd camcorder about the size of the palm of my hand. Plus I was wearing the wristband and the strap around my hand. I just thought while we're climbing up the left hill, I'd grab a few seconds of them saying hi to the camera. That wasn't my problem, my problem was I should've waited til after the lift where we were away from cameras. I just got busted because they were still able to see us. I wasn't doing anything dangerous and I would never try to do anything dangerous. Not like some of these POV movies that you find on YouTube. Not sure how those people get away with filming on The Beast, Firehawk, Flight of Fear and Vortex, but God forbid I take out my little camcorder and try to grab a shot on the lift hill of the log flume and I get ripped a new one!
  7. Yes! My girlfriend and I were there lastnight with my niece. We were there from like 6 to 12:30 and I haven't seen the park that crowded in a long, long time. I did notice on the sign though that it was saying "Welcome" to quite a few groups and companies. If they're going to do group days, I wish they wouldn't try to accomodate like 5 or 6 groups in one day. You're just asking for un-Godly crowds and wait times on rides. I noticed even the Fast Lane lines were long. I wouldn't have called it "Fast Lane" lastnight! Maybe just "Faster Lane" lol. At one point, the Fast Lane line for The Beast stretched the entire length of the exit! I would estimate that the Fast Lane line for The Beast then was probably the weight for The Beast on a normal night. I don't know if I would've wanted to pay that kind of money to wait a half hour for The Beast! lol. Anyways yeah, super crowded and parking was insane! We got there at 6 and had to park down by Soak City and walk to the dry park. Definitely a crazy time!

Ok, so yesterday was pretty much my first experience waiting in line to by some kind of snack. Actually, I was only waiting for drinks because I decided to use one of my Fun Perks and get the unlimited drink wristband. Usually, we only go out for a few hours and don't really by any food or drinks. So I don't know if it was just yesterday, but my gosh, it took FOREVER to get through the line. The first time it was a snack station in Planet Snoopy. Not sure what it was called, but it was near what used to be Plankton's Plunge and they sold popcorn. There was literally only about 4 people in front of me and I stood in that line for atleast 15 minutes. I don't know what the workers were doing. These people were just ordering popcorn and drinks! Fill up the popcorn, hand it to the customer and keep moving. It was kind of ridiculous how long it took these people to do anything. Later that night before I left I decided to stop at the Cinnabon place and get a drink. There was only 1 family in front of me and again, I stood there for a good 15 minutes waiting. In the other line, these 2 girls had been standing there longer than me. After a while I started to wonder what they had ordered cause they must have been standing there for 20 minutes. Finally, the guy handed them a box with 4 Cinnabons in it. 4 Cinnabons...that's it! They waited 20 minutes for 4 Cinnabons! And it's not like they were out, the had shelves of them full and even some trays in the back with some on them that you could see. So the girls left and I'm still waiting. Finally I said screw it and left. I should've have to wait 20 minutes to get a drink. Is it like this all the time? Why was it taking the workers so long to do anything? 4 Cinnabons should take 5 minutes max. Take the money, grab the box, grab the 4 Cinnabons, hand them to the customer...next person. That's it. The family in front of me ordered some kind of smoothie thing. I swear the lady was making ice cream from scratch, and I must have watched her blend the mix 3 or 4 times. It was just frustrating. I had the free drink wristband, but was only able to make use of it twice because of all the time it was taking to get through the lines. Maybe it was just a bad day for them, but it seemed to be happening at multiple places. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
  9. So my girlfriend and I decided to take my niece out to the park yesterday to take advantage of the Starlight offer after 5. So we got there a little after 6pm and my gosh I have never seen the park so crowded as it was lastnight for a very long time. When we pulled in to park, they had the front part of the parking lot closed off. We litterally had to park down by the Soak City entrance and walk to the main entrance. I would've just went in the Soak City entrance and ridden the train back to the dry park, but we had to by my niece a ticket to get in unfortunately. So we get the ticket and head into the park. The first thing we decided to ride was Adventure Express. You know it's bad when you have a line of the Adventure Express all the way back to the entrance of the ride! After that we walked over to the Flight of Fear. A 2 hour wait or more, so we decided to move onto something else. We rode The Vortex which wasn't too bad of a wait. Next we watched the 3D Dinosaurs Alive show which was pretty cool, it has some pretty sweet 3D. Next we went over to Planet Snoopy and rode the log flume...that's a classic! By this time it was about 9 so we decided to get in line for The Beast so we could enjoy a night ride. Big mistake! I've haven't seen The Beast line so full since I was a teenager! The estimated ride time was 90 minutes so we figured we'd be out by 10:30 and have an hour and a half left in the park. The line was moving pretty quick so we were pretty optimistic that we'd be out in less than 90 minutes. Then the bad news came...over the speakers they announced that they'd be shutting down the ride a 9:45 in order to let off the fireworks at 10! I didn't know about this! So the shut down The Beast at 9:45, at 10 they set off the fireworks and 15 minutes later they were finally done. By this time it was 10:15, it was 10:30 before they finally got the "all clear" from management to start the ride up again. We were shut down for 45 minutes all together. It took us another 45 minutes to get on the ride thanks to a HUGE Fast Lane Pass line that literally stretched the entire length of the exit. It was about 11:30 before we finally got off The Beast and only had a half hour left in the park. My niece had never ridden Flight of Fear because she had always been too short. Well, this year she was finally tall enough and really wanted to ride. I wasn't too sure that the line would still be open given that we only had a half hour til closing, however, we decided to walk over there and check it out. To my surprise the line was still open so we were able to get in. The line was about a half hour long which wasn't too bad. She enjoyed her first ride on Flight of Fear and it was one of her favorites yesterday. All in all it was a pretty good day, but it was way too crowded to really enjoy yourself too much. We finally left the park around 12:30. It was a pretty good day though!
  10. I would move Vortex to where Son of Beast is, I'd move Firehawk to where Diamondback is, I'd put Diamondback in Planet Snoopy and move Planet Snoopy to Action Zone. From there I'd move Invertigo to where Vortex used to be and cut Son of Beast in half and call in GrandSon of Beast and put it where Diamondback was. I'd move Whitewater Canyon to Soak City and I'd also re-run the train tracks so that the train went around the perimeter of the park instead. I'd turn the Eiffel Tower around 180 degrees so it's facing the other way. I'd also move the fountains on International Street to the old Paramount Story area. Oops I forgot, I still have an empty place where Firehawk was....I think I'll just move part of Dinosaurs Alive there and have 2 Dinosaurs Alive areas and charge people twice. Yep, those would be great changes!
  11. Didn't Coke make Surge? Gosh I'd love to have some of that again!
  12. Yep. I'm in charge of social media for my company and Facebook does have specific rules about running contests. You are allowed to, but they have to be run through a third party app or have the sign up/entry page on a server separate from Facebook. The rules are a little tricky (and ridiculous) really. I guess that might explain why KI doesn't run contests through Facebook. If you don't follow all the rules, your page can get shut down. I guess it's easier just not to do it, which is kind of a shame.
  13. I'm not sure why someone with a fake leg couldn't ride a coaster, unless it has something to do with safety issues? Are they concerned that maybe the fake leg would fly off during the ride? If so, why not just remove it? I can't see not being able to ride a coaster just because you're handicapped.
  14. https://www.facebook...isitkingsisland Do you want these people answering trivia questions? Absolutely! More chances for people like us to win! LOL
  15. Well the morning and afternoon thing was just an example. I was just saying you could do one at one time and one at another. Also, there are a lot of people who use Facebook and not Twitter. Some of these people had Facebook first and didn't feel the need to fool with another social media outlet. I'm one of those people. However, I don't feel like we should be excluded just because we don't feel like Tweeting our life away when a contest such as this could be just as easily run on Facebook also. Especially since Kings Island is also on Facebook. Why would they exclude their Facebook fans for the contests they run? Just doesn't make sense to me.
  16. I don't understand why there has to be 2 prizes. I've entered contests before online where there were multiple ways to enter for the chance to win the same prize. You could enter through Facebook, or any of the multiple web sites, or you could send in an entry through the mail. I've never heard of having to have a separate prize for each entry method.
  17. That would involve more money being dished out by one or both of the ends. More money? I was unaware that it costs money to post to Facebook. I wasn't talking about running 2 separate contests. I was suggesting running the same contests on 2 social media channels. You take all the entries from Facebook and all the entries from Twitter and you still draw just one name for the one prize. Just one giveaway still, not two.
  18. No, you just do the posts at 2 separate times. Do Twitter in the morning and Facebook in the afternoon or vice versa.
  19. Love this one too: "Is there still the red and blue racers?" No. Kings Island tore them down because they didn't want them anymore. Where do people come up with this stuff?
  20. This was a classic questions posted just a little while ago: "Do we need to bring our own towels for Soak City?" What do they think, Kings Island just passes out free towels? I guess they wouldn't HAVE to bring a towel. They could just stand there and let the sun dry them
  21. I agree, Twitter's lame. I think you should be able to enter through Facebook as well. Why can't they post these trivia questions to the Facebook wall also?
  22. This thing with the Son of Beast reminds me of the movie The Village by M. Night Shyamalan. The creatures in the woods were referred to as "Those we don't speak of". LOL.
  23. Boo Blasters on Boo Hill. I wouldn't get rid of the whole ride, just the theming. It's lame! I'd totally revamp that ride and make it something really unique!
  24. I remember the last couple of seasons Phantom Theater was there, it seemed to stop quite a bit during the ride. Sometimes the ride would just stop, other times the ride would stop and so would the music and all the characters. I assumed some of that stopping had to do with trying to load people, perhaps handicapped people. Other times, I'm not really sure what was going on. It was always fun to get stopped during that ride though although I don't know if I would've liked to have had to evacuate and walk through the dark along side of the animatronic figures though lol. That would've been an interesting experience!
  25. As much as I know there are a lot of people that want to see it repaired, I'd vote Son of Beast. I just think it's a huge waste of space that could be used for other things.
