Empty/unused space.
I also wish they'd use revamp all they land around the train ride. They have all those buildings/props that used to be used, but now it's all just kind of sitting there. I'd like to see that whole thing revamped and rethemed. It made for an awesome train ride experience!

Empty/unused space.
I understand that, and if I owned the park I would. All I said is that I think it's a waste of space for it not to be used during the normal operating season and just for Haunt. That's all.

Empty/unused space.
I'd consider The Crypt's space unused. Opening it up for 1 month as a "Haunt" attraction and letting it sit from April-September as basically nothing makes it unused space in my book. Screw the Haunt attraction, let's turn it into something cool that could be open all season long!

Flashback Till Opening Day 2013
Wow...I just took some time and looked through the countdown thread from last year. Amazing! It brought back so many memories seeing those old pictures. I'm really looking forward to this year's countdown pics!

What is your Flight of Fear Expirience?
I, too, rode the Flight of Fear during it's opening summer (possibly even the opening weekend). I remember how bad it hurt because of the over the shoulder restraints. I remember having such a headache after I got off. I was there with a group of friends and we all got our head banged around so badly that we left the park after riding that ride. I remember seeing the queue line video for the first time and thinking that it was pretty cheesy then! I do agree that it needs to be re-shot and updated a bit. "What the blazes was that?" I do enjoy the ride now though. I love the new lap restraints because it eliminates much of the pain experienced in it's early years! However, there is no cure for the dizziness that I always experience lol. That is just part of the ride though! I can definitely say it's one of the most thrilling rides that I ride at the park!

Kings Island Lost One of Their Own On Wednesday
15 years ago I lost a good friend of mine in a car accident. He was only 17. I understand completely the pain that her friends and family must be feeling. It's something that you never really get over or ever really understand. I always hate to read news like this because I know how badly it hurts the loved ones of those lost. Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was affected by this tragedy.

Oh wow, I did not know this. Maybe I'll have to plan for this next year!

Creation Museum Christmas Town/Planetarium tr
Awesome! I visited the Creation Museum about 5 years ago or so, soon after they opened. I've been wanting to go back and check it out again. I was unaware that they had a Christmas event. That'll be something I'll definitely want to check out!

Merry Christmas!
I had a great Christmas! I got 2 superhero movies (The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spiderman 3D) and a smartphone. Now I'm not the only person in the world who doesn't own a smartphone lol. I hope everyone else had a great Christmas too! PS: I love the snow! I've missed it the last couple of years. I actually got to leave work early so I wasn't one bit upset ;-)

Windseekers To be Demolished?
You're right. It makes the area feel way too crowded and it seems so out of place just sitting there. There's so much happening right in the small space: The Vortex exit, the entrance and exit to the 3D Dinosaurs Alive show, and of course the entrance and exit to WindSeeker. I feel like it just gets too crazy there in that space.

If you could ask Don one question.
This is my question too. Can we get another "Quality" dark ride? I agree, something like Phantom Theater or even the classic Smurf ride with the boats would be nice. It doesn't have to be a remake of Phantom (although that would be nice) or Smurfs, it could have it's own theme, but some type of family oriented dark ride that's either ride through or float through. That would totally make my day!

Kings Island Dreams
I had a crazy dream about Kings Island last night! The first thing that happened in my dream was that we got to KI and they had re-opened the Son of Beast for a limited time only. This was to give fans of the ride a chance to ride it one last time before it got torn down. The funny thing is that in my dream I knew that the demolition had already begun, so I thought it was weird that it was open again. Anyway, I got in line and took a ride on it again! After we got off Son of Beast, we decided to go over to Planet Snoopy and take a ride on Boo Blasters. As I approached the ride, I could see that it was no longer Boo Blasters. The ride had been re-themed as something completely different. It was still a dark ride, but it was based on this character who was a bunny or something. There was someone working inside so I asked what happened to Boo Blasters and she said that they decided to re-do it as something different. I thought that was cool so we got in line. The ride made absolutely no sense at all. The individual cars had been replaced by one long train. Everyone boarded at once and went into the main ride. Once inside the ride it was like one part train ride, one part coaster and one part water ride. There was music and characters and stuff like a dark ride, but the track was like a coaster track for a while, then merged into some type of log flume type track with water and all. Everyone was getting wet and I remember thinking how weird it was. Then the ride ended and we got off. Don't remember what happened after that. I think I woke up! Not sure where that dream came from, but it sure was crazy!

Woman files lawsuit against Disney World over Jungle Cruise Ride
Hundreds of thousands of dollars to treat her injuries? How far did she fall and what did she hit? I was in a pretty bad car accident where I was t-boned, the front of a van ran into my driver's side door. My car was totalled and I was taken to a hospital via ambulance. I had back and neck injuries as well as head trauma and a concussion. I had multiple tests and treatments, chiropractic care for 5 months and physical therapy for another 3 months. My medical bills were only in the tens of thousands. It's hard to imagine falling backwards from the Jungle Cruise ride would would result in hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical bills. I don't know, maybe it was worse than it comes across.

Pee Wee Valley
I drive by there every so often and I try to get a look back into the old park as I drive by. It doesn't look like that old haunted house building is still painted the same. All I can see is an all white building straight back. I'm pretty sure it's the building that used to be the haunted house. It even looks like it has regular doors too. I think it's probably been converted into some kind of storage building now. It's a shame that classic parks such as Fantasy Farm, Americana, and this topic's park, Pee Wee Valley, get torn down. It's sad that the interest fades, crowds begin to grow thin, and business dwindles. I know that people are into thrill rides, but there's something very nostalgic about visiting an old park with classic rides. It's as if you can feel all the memories that have been made there over time. It's like stepping back in time a bit to experience something completely different than what we're used to today. I'd love to relive some of the attractions that I enjoyed as a child at Fantasy Farm, however, that can never be. It would be nice if some of these old parks could be revived and appreciated for what they were; a collection of classic rides that are very seldom seen any more and a place where families can gather and memories can be created!

Site Update
I'm using this site from a computer and I don't see the links on the home page. I actually lost the links close to a week ago. One day they were there, the next they were gone. It was kind of weird. I never access this site from a phone, it's always from a computer.

Site Update
I lost the row of links in the orange bar across the main home page of KICentral.com. Did anyone else lose these links?

Pee Wee Valley
My mom was just telling me about Pee Wee Valley earlier this year. I had never heard of it before. We were able to find a few pictures online, but not much information at all. When I was young, my family and I used to go to a small park out on Rt. 4 near 63 called "Fantasy Farm." Do any of you remember that place? We spent many summers there, and I even had a season pass! I have very vague memories, but I do remember caves that they had that you could walk through, a house with the 3 bears (statues) inside, some little boat ride with indians, and a very generic ride through haunted house. There is surprisingly a web site dedicated to Fantasy Farm with pics, video, and information. If anyone is interested, you can check it out here: http://www.fantasyfarm.org/index.htm

A Backstage Look at Dent Schoolhouse
Nah that's ok. They can keep their Boo Blasters. I'd take Phantom Theater or Scooby any day over Boo Blasters.

A Backstage Look at Dent Schoolhouse
Never really been into haunted houses. They're just not my thing! I think I'll stick with the Phantom Theater or Scooby Doo's Haunted Castle

Your SoB memories
The number of times I rode the Son of Beast I could literally count on one hand. I remember the first time I rode it and the sheer feeling of pain as the coaster beat me to death. I remember thinking I got a bad seat. I continued to ride it a few more times over the next couple of years picking different seats and different sections of the train. Each time hurt just as much. I remember thinking that The Beast was a heck of a lot smoother and I wasn't sure why. After 4-5 times of trying to ride Son of Beast without getting beat up, I finally decided to stop trying. I think the coaster was an amazing idea and it came with loads of potential. Sadly, I just wasn't that impressed with it. Maybe it was because it hurt so much to ride it lol. I wish it would've been a success, but I'm kind of glad to see it go so that KI can make room for something even better!

Radio Stations
I like Air 1 which is 90.1 here in Cincinnati, also 93.3, and 104.3. I also tune into Q-102 sometimes which is 101.9 here in Cincinnati. I mostly like to listen to CDs or my MP3 player because I can choose the music I want to hear and not have to listen to a playlist that's repeated 2 or 3 times daily

What do you look for in coasters?
Probably looks, personality, oh yeah, and a great sense of humor!

Windseekers To be Demolished?
You know they probably went with a cheaper Cogswell Cogs product in order to save a few bucks!

Winterfest
I'd love to see Winterfest return. I went in the 80s with my parents every year and loved it! I wanted to go in 2005, but unfortunately didn't get the chance to. I'd really love to go again, however, I don't really see that happening. I think if people want to go to a "Winter" themed event in the area, they'd probably just go to the Festival of Lights at the Cincinnati Zoo. Of course there are no rides there, but there are plenty of lights to look at, ice skating, hot chocolate/coffee, and various shows and attractions...not to mention animals. I feel KI would have to offer something pretty special in order to compete with the Festival of Lights or to make it worth their while in bringing it back. On a side note related to an above post, the zoo has a Nativity scene on display at the Festival of Lights and Walt Disney World had several of them on display during their Christmas season the last time I was there. I don't see why KI couldn't have one during their winter event if they ever decided to have one again.
