  1. That red paint on the Coke stand reminds me of Bob Evans! And wasn’t the now blue building tan at one point? Either way, the paint looks nice!
  2. Looks great! Did not notice the floor was different - it all looks really nice!
  3. Sounds exciting (to me, at least)! When at the park, I visited the arcades a few times and enjoy some of the games. And speaking of game cards, I would love points earned to be tied to a specific central system rather than the individual game card. For example, a few seasons ago, I lost a game card with a significant amount of points. Because the points system is tied to the specific card, I essentially lost all the points I’d earned and had to start over with a new one (wah-wah). Other than that, I love the arcade; my favorite games are Skeeball, Scrambler (where you hit the lights and tickets come out), and H20verdrive (RIP)
  4. I haven't had anything else on the menu, but I think that Chicken Shack's bread (Texas Toast) is amazing! As I once said, "It's like grilled cheese without the cheese!"
  5. Picky eater here (referencing @medford's post)... If Subway at KI was replaced, I would be sad (as I like Subway- it tastes good, smells good and it's always been in the park), but I have other choices (such as LaRosa's, Tom + Chee, the cheese fries at the place across from Antique Autos, the amazing bread at Chicken Shack, Festhaus, etc.). However, I do understand that familiarity with Subway, so I vote to keep it, even if it's (seemingly) never open in Coney anymore. However, maybe close the Coney location, put something new in, and keep Subway in the water park.

I really hope Haunt does not go extinct, but if it did in the future, I would just like to say that I was glad to be a part of it (I was a Scareactor in 2019). And I agree about the Haunt crowds, but at the same time, Haunt has been a fun and special time for myself and a lot of others. I would hate for it to fade into the past. Howsoever, if it did come time to shut it down, I would like there to be at least one maze open for old time's sake (perhaps Slaughterhouse, Killmart or even Chaos, since the latter fits perfectly with Area 72 - perhaps they could run this Chaos year-round...).
  7. I can attest to this! That night was the busiest I have ever seen the park (and I've been to Haunt on a Saturday night!). I was actually nervous due to the crowds (pre-COVID, crowded spaces didn't normally bother me a ton). IIRC, I described it as being "Disney crowded" (I've never been inside any of the Disney parks, but I've seen pictures of the massive crowds!). That being said, I had a good time, despite only riding two rides (The Bat and Mystic)- the 2.5 hour wait for Mystic Timbers was totally worth it! Also, it was so cool how the line started in view of Slaughterhouse, went into the Crypt (Tomb Raider) building and snaked across Rivertown before ending up in the "actual" queue line.
  8. I understand. I almost feel like the only real themed area at Hershey (with the exception of maybe the waterpark and some light theming in the Americana section) is the Pioneer Frontier area mostly because of the decor and IIRC, there was a sign denoting the area (at least when I went in 2015). And speaking of which, according to the map, it looks like the park has made quite a few changes since then (such as new food places and what appears to be a Fastlane-like service). It's cool that they absorbed the pre-entrance park of the park into the park as Hershey's Chocolatetown.
  9. The paint job looks cool, but why name it after candy if it's in the Frontier section of the park (unless they are going to annex the-coaster-formally-known-as-Sidewinder to another area of the park...)? However, I do think the new flat ride's name is fitting.
  10. I rode one of the Fasttracks (I think it was called The Streak; it was the one on the leftmost side (if looking at the tower from the ground) with many dips) when I was a kid and it was certainly interesting; I felt like I was going to fly off the side lol. I actually haven't ridden any of the slides in a few years; the last time I went to Soak City (in 2019), it was for a concert at Island Nights. The last time I actually rode anything over there was in 2018.
  11. Cool find! I noticed the water in the lazy river seemed very clean back then. Also, when the video said "Construction mode", I was thinking there would be actual construction footage of Rushing River. However, the footage of a raft ride going into an actual body of water is pretty cool and unique!
  12. Thanks for all the info, @Shaggy. IIRC, I only rode Scooby's Ghoster Coaster once, and I remember the line being extremely long and (likely) slow moving. That being said, it was definitely unique. I appreciate the video that @KIBeast linked above as it shows where exactly in the park it is. This gives me a good picture of where it was in relation to what's in that spot now (as in, I can picture where in the park the railway is as well as that lone game stand near Surf Dog).
  13. If they did have a concert with multiple stages, they could have a Christian music stage as part of that, if only as a throwback to SpiritSong being at the park for so many years. However, I'm not sure what stages would be used for said concert...
  14. Oh my; how random! I wonder if anyone tried to get in it...
  15. Agreed. I remember going into the building for my first ride and being nervous as I still didn't know exactly what it was. The sliding door that separated the line and the ride (combined with the darkness) did a great job of hiding what was on the other side. IIRC, all you could hear were screams. -MDMC, whose memory is a little foggy...
  16. Nice! Let us know what you think after riding. The whole ride looks pretty cool, but that "death roll" (the spiral coming out of an inversion) looks insane!
  17. I could be wrong, but I think we had them back for one or two seasons a few years ago... (It was the same year that the KI 5 band was introduced)
  18. Speaking of Avelanch... er, Reptilian, the new paint job looks pretty cool. I rode Avalanche back in 2001 and enjoyed it. It was pretty unique and so far, that is the only bobsled coaster I have ridden. [see below] EDIT: I take that back... forgot I rode Disaster Transport before it closed... that was a fun and interesting ride!
  19. I think it would be really cool to have some sort of spinning coaster in the old Tomb Raider building. They can use the existing queue (including the overflow that occurs before entering the building) and the coaster could have some outdoor sections as well. I'm thinking the station could be on the same level that Tomb Raider/The Crypt was an have a drop out of the station. Or, they could use the stairs that are used for Madame Fatale's and put the station on ground level. Just some thoughts...
  20. BUMP! Iron Gwazi opens March 11th!!! https://www.themeparktourist.com/news/20220122/32252/exact-opening-date-finally-announced-iron-gwazi
  21. Ya know, the similar theming wouldn't be the only thing in common with CP's petting farm if that (see bold) happened as Slaughter House would be right around the corner. When I went in 2019, I thought it was brilliant to have their Slaughter House line start near the Barnyard as it really plays into the theme. -MDMC, still a Haunt fan,,,
  22. I mean, it's a cute bucket, but seven hours... I will pass. Was/is it a limited time thing? Also, I do know how much Figment, Dreamfinder and the original Journey of Imagination (I think that's what it's called) means to some people and their nostalgia for it (I've also read about the disdain for Journey into Your Imagination in the 90's), but still... EDIT: Watch the embedded Twitter video in the article to get a sense of how big the line was
  23. Did someone say... moonshine? Dangolshoot! You know, there was a great show at the park this past year that mentioned [Coca-Cola Freestyle!]. -MDMC, an avid fan of Busker Jam
  24. Same! Did not know those windows once served a purpose.
  25. BUMP! So, I finally totaled my rides for the season and it was a strange year... not as strange as 2020, but a weird one for me indeed. I attended Opening Day, when I first rode Orion and started to get back in the swing of going to the park again since I had not gone at all in 2020. Throughout the next few months, I enjoyed rides, Carnivale, the Area 72 dance party and (especially) Busker Jam, until I got COVID in mid-August. Because of this, I took some time off from the park, but made one last visit for my birthday in December. That being said, here are my most ridden rides this year: My top 3 ridden coasters of 2021 were Orion (12 times), The Bat (10 times), and Flight of Fear (7 times - mostly thanks to those 5 rides I took on my birthday!) My most ridden flat was Delirium (4 times) and as I was looking through my ride count, I noticed there were quite a few flats that I didn't get a chance to ride at all this season, such as MSD (Monster/Scrambler/Dodgem), Viking Fury, and (presumably?) all the water rides. Though I did not ride Slingshot (and haven't done so for years due to the "no single riders" rule), I did manage to ride Xtreme Skyflier once this season and that was fun. EDIT: Also, I rode all the coasters at least once this season except for Woodstock Express and Great Pumpkin Coaster (obviously!)
