  1. I caught on from the get-go, not sure why no one else did.
  2. I've just been lurking on this thread, just kind of giggling at the gang that big sexy has created. Just as everyone else said, it more than likely didn't go to KI, all intertates branch out.
  3. I really wish all Saturdays were like that! I just hope the lines are too long on a Tuesday and Wednesday in June. Thanks for sharing!
  4. I'd love to see stick to your guns live, maybe if I can come up with the money and get a ride to Ohio, it could happen.
  5. Used to play with the singers old band back like 5-6 years ago when he was still living in Columbus. Was named Call It Even, they were like a hardcore inspired pop/punk band, like New Found Glory. Used to be a really cool guy, he's turning into a toolbag as of late though. Yeah ever since he got arrested a couple months ago, he' not the same. Ronnie Radke is also a joke. Edit: Are any of these guys you? cx
  6. As much as I love Intimidator, Diamondback is nearly the same.
  7. Aw man, I'm going two days later! Hope you guys have fun!
  8. Nice pictures! Wish we could fly over the wall and beg for clues from those construction workers! Oh and by the way I saw KI tweet you earlier. cx Thanks. I decided to have some fun with the "through the fence" shots this time around. I was actually surprised by that tweet. I use the mobile app Foursquare to check-in at each ride, and that account gets mentioned everytime someone checks in there (Foursquare is designed to be very appealing to businesses), so I guess he saw that I was checking in all over the park and decided to say hi I've been using Foursquare for years now and this is the first time he's tweeted at me Haha, I've used 4sq at Kings Island a couple years ago, and it just ran my phone dead, leading me to a boring, very agonizing four hour ride home.

  10. Oh goodness, such a toughy. It's between Afterburn and Intimidator, on Afterburn I was sitting on row 4 toward the station, and on Intimidator, I first sat on the back row, toward the station, and the second time I was in row 4, toward the station.
  11. Even if I took my carowinds cup, they'd scan my cup and see it's theirs, and I would love to be a ride op but closest park is an hour away!
  12. Hey! Bear with me on this post, it's so early and I have not gotten much sleep. Alright! So, yesterday I went to Carowinds with the school chorus, and it was super fun, we left about 2:30AM Friday, and arrived at around 9:10, for some reason the park opened at 9 and closed at 6. First we headed to Vortex, I give it an 8 for fun and a 10 for the crew working this coaster, they were all really nice and were cracking jokes the whole time we were in the station! After Vortex, we headed over to Intimidator, it had a fairly short line, but not that it matters, it always flies by. I give it a 9 for thrill and a 6 for the crew, they were kind of grouchy and just not very social-able after being compared to our greeting from The Vortex crew. Moving on to our next ride, Nighthawk, even though it was still relatively early, this ride had an awful line, and I was the only one in my group who had rode it's kin, Firehawk, so no one else really knew what to expect, and this is honestly the only type of rides at a park I'm afraid of, I give this ride a 9 for thrill and their crew a 6, again, grouchy, and just not very talkative, and the main ride op, her mouth was so close to the mic, I couldn't understand a word she said. From the Nighthawk, we moved over to the Caroline Cobra, and as we went their, as I expected seeing as it was windy, guess what was open? Not WindSeeker, but I'm not interested in that rid after riding it 3+ times, it gets boring. Back to our main topic, the Cobra line was a little long but not long enough to have the turnbacks(?) opened up. I give this ride an 8 for thrill and their crew an 8, they were a little talkative which is a nice thing after having two rides in a row have boring ops. After we rode the Cobra, we went over to the little shack restaurant, across from Goldrusher, and beside the hanging shark, they wanted 9 bucks for a basket holding 3-4 pieces of chicken tenders, and the rest of the basket was full of fries, I dished it out, but dang! Oh, I also bought my souvenir cup here, I don't like the price raise, and the enforced rule of free refills only on day of purchase, so this now means when I go to Kings Island on the 18 & 19 next month, I'll have to pay a dollar for refills one day, even though all I drink is water, and it's tap water I'm getting, yuk! A while after eating, and waiting on some friends to come back, we headed over to the Carolina Cyclone, had a huge line, but went by sort of fast, we rode it then upon returning to the station, I saw a ride op pushing a button and nothing happening, so he then gets on the mic and says "Sorry guys, we're experiencing some technical difficulties." I am just so glad that they have the manual release buttons on the trains. After that, we headed toward Afterburn, but a friend wanted to ride Vortex because she hadn't gotten to, so we stopped their, same old funny crew! Anyways, back to Afterburn, this ride had a long line but went by pretty fast, seeing how we had to be back at the front gate at 5:30, and it was 4:30 when we got in line, and we had enough time to ride that, spend almost twenty minutes at the photo booth, and then go get another ride on a now open Intimidator, it had been closed a while, apparently because someone fainted on the ride. We didn't do Hurler, Thunder Road, or Ricochet. All in all, I had a good time, a very nice close to my middle school years, and it's still hard to believe that in two months I'll be roaming the halls of the local high school! The park itself has a very nice atmosphere and the climate is a very nice touch, I'd love to live there, just not in hurricane season, that derecho last summer was enough for me! Now I can't wait for Kings Island, and now that school is out, the days will fly by! Thanks for reading, Jasonondropzone
  13. Learned a nice few things here, all from a question about what could weather do?
  14. Thanks guys, can't wait to get on my first ride of the season!
  15. Hey guys, I'm curious as to what factors can close rides, like wind, heavy rain, thunder, & lightning? I'm headed out to carowinds and the weather for.Charlotte tomorrow is sun with winds, what rides.could be closed if the winds get too gusty?
  16. Oh God, I just hope it wasn't someone from my school, they were there yesterday and would be the type of people to overreact and call 911. Honestly, coming from someone who has extreme anxiety and ocd, I may have panicked a bit but definitely not to the extent to call the police, that's ridiculous.
  17. or You'll more than likely see me listening to these bands. \m/
  18. A few years ago, my cousin had went to Kings Island and was either a) too short for the big rides, or b ) too tall for the smaller rides. She refuses to go back even three plus years later, and I keep trying to tell her, "You've grown, you can ride nearly everything there now."
  19. Can you just be my best friend? Those bands, post-hardcore, and metalcore, oh my god.
  20. Hm, haven't posted in a while, figured this would be a good topic to hop back into. I think it's going to be a steel coaster, B&M, or Intamin. Not even going to hop into names just yet. I for one would love to see something with various inversions, a little like Vortex, but with boomerang like inversions, and maybe a few other inversions that most coasters don't have. I think it'll be something unique, and something a little bit of a theme like SoB, but not SoB. Thanks for taking the time to read my thoughts.
  21. You may delete this thread, I just saw the posts about it under the SoB announcement thread.
  22. This was just like last night, they were wearing all black and they were standing in a walkway around 2 feet wide, it's dark and they are crouched down, so they are grasping my legs and all of a sudden I hear "Ouch, my finger!" It was faint but I could hear it, it may have been me that stepped on a finger, I won't find out and didn't apologize, I felt terrible for not saying anything but my throat was super dry..
  23. Well, this didn't happen at KI, but last night at a local attractions, a group of African American males tried to act "hard" but when the time came to go through the attraction, they started running and screaming, and eventually started to swing their arms back and forth, and then proceeded to say "I'll knock you out, soon!". So in the end, they started running and screaming like babies..
  24. When I watched the SoB demolition video I was thinking "Well, is anything going to happen, or....wait whoooooooo!"
  25. I was wanting to get over there to ride it, but I didn't and don't want to go for Halloween.
