  1. Didn't it take 2 full seasons of work to transform Texas Giant? So basically, if - We don't get any announcement of some sort - We don't see any work this upcoming 2012 season It's not happening. Although I would love if it did!
  2. ^ Might be the best thing i've ever read.
  3. I'm a newer member, and would love to attend one for the first time!
  4. WindSeeker was a good addition. I wasn't too crazy about Fast Lane, nor about Son of Beast still sitting there. I never broke down and did Dinosaurs Alive due to the upcharge. The rides ran pretty good this year, and I wasn't upset with any excessive downtime. Almost gave it a 3, but it was a great year for Haunt, so I went with 4 stars.
  5. Since this is the Sob topic, I'd just like to say yesterday I noticed Son of Beast is on the 2009 park map they show in the Diamondback video in the Diamondback queue line. Also, I got a shirt yesterday for 5 bucks that says "Wish you were here... Kings Island, Ohio" that has the same 2009 park map as the background. As soon as I saw it I snatched it up! Still miss the old-style park map.
  6. I have a feeling this topic will live and die with the ride in question. And i'm not talking about a horse.
  7. I have been wondering this as well. It would be amazing to see them all again. My question is - if still on KI property, what will they eventually be used for?
  8. As a 19 year old who grew up going through Phantom Theater, it's awesome to see these out every year. It is a shame to see the condition they are in. My question is, are they really keeping the others in storage just to keep them nice for selling? Seems like a waste to me. I'd pay money to see em
  9. When I rode (once last Saturday and twice yesterday), at least one out of the 3 popped out from behind a wall and tried to scare us.
  10. I got some pictures of the new lights and props in the queue last Saturday. These lights are mounted just above the entrance to the ship, and create quite a neat effect. You can stand in them. Sorry for the bad picture, but they move really quickly. These are new to the room just before you enter for loading. I was quite surprised to see them. Again, sorry about pic quality (awkward lighting) This was on the wall in the same room as the aliens. These are really interesting additions that really enhance the effects of the ride. The effect in the tunnel is very neat and was quite a surprise! Glad to see FoF getting some attention! One of my favorites
  11. No problem. I took as many pictures as possible of this, along with Wolf Pack. Just in case. I will say however, the transfer track has seen MUCH better days :/
  12. This pic shows only half of the "State of Disrepair" sign, and the two graves on the left are for The Cyclone, and The Villain.
  13. Terpy, always taking wind from my sails
  14. I usually average around 1200, but about a month ago I pulled a 1710. It's like when you get all the green lights on the way home, it just never happens twice.
  15. I do enjoy the view of the park. Off in the distance over behind the maintenance/storage area behind FoF you can see a field with SoB's old red/yellow PSV cars and some of the leftover phantom theater seats. Pretty cool if you ask me.
  16. Fast Passes are sold throughout the park at very convenient locations. It is very possible to buy one in person, and should be easy to find. Enjoy your day at the park!
  17. Nothing at all has been done to the ride since it closed other than the re-theme of the station to Wolf Pack. That's from Don Helbig himself, when I asked him your exact question.
  18. I was just re-reading Mr Ouimet's interview and something stuck out at me... (Warning: Son of Beast is mentioned) "In the fall, Cedar Fair will announce new additions to Kings Island that will be part of its 40th anniversary celebration next year, Ouimet said, declining to provide additional details. The future of Son of The Beast, one of Kings Island's wooden roller coasters, also remains unknown." Not to start some crazy debate, but for those two sentences to be right next to each other? It's got me wishfully thinking, but I'm a fanboy, so what can I say?
  19. I concur, but I'd say that the skyline couldn't be more sad than it is right now with our sad shadow of what Son of Beast once was. Gives a bittersweet feeling to seeing the park for the first time over the horizon...
  20. Not to sound overfanboyish, but even if he does just meet front office people, Son of Beast is definitely looming over the park in a big way, and it's hard not to notice.
  21. That would be amazing! I'm only 19 but was raised listening to every album by DC Talk. I can literally sing every one of their songs. Would be awesome to see!
  22. So awesome! My Girlfriend got me the Son of Beast kit as a surprise! Thanks so much Shaggy!
  23. I'm Pro-Son of Beast here, just stating that unfortunately, RaptorGuy is correct. The trains are visible on Google Earth and from Adventure Express, out in the open. They have been out in the open for 2 seasons now A very sad sight to see. Check it out on the last few turns of AE,through the service road under SoB. They are sitting there, likely dead
  24. I'm not so sure about that. I had a conversation with Don not that long ago and he told me that they could have the state come certify the ride for operation and it would pass, just as it is.
  25. I've been 9 times this year, and it seems that during the rush of people coming into the park in the morning, the Gold Pass lot is always staffed and you have to flash your pass. Later in the day, and also on days where I leave in the early evening (5-6 PM), I haven't seen anyone there.
