Cold Front coming. High of 44 degrees Sat & Sun.
I've lost the link, but at least one Cincinnati meteorologist posted a graphic on Facebook saying that some models are showing a chance for some wet snow Saturday morning. So be prepared for the possibility of snow on the ground that morning, and take your time getting to the park. Better to miss ERT than end up in a ditch somewhere (or worse).

Final ride of the Season (Winterfest excluded)
I unintentionally ended my season last Sunday on Surf Dog with my mother. At least it was a fun ride, and we didn't valley on the far side like we did last time I rode it with her.

Anyone have any photos from the INSIDE of the old arcades?
Welcome to KIC! It's always nice to get someone who remembers the older days, especially pre-Paramount. So many of us, including myself, are too young to have any memories of those days, so hearing those who are older reminisce about those days is a treat. I hope you stick around! I remember spending a lot of time in the Skeeball room as a kid; it's one of the very few memories of Kings Island from the 90s that my brain has retained. I too would love to see a picture or two from that room. I also do enjoy an occasional game of pinball, but like most games, my skill level at it is abysmal. I won't be a world-ranked player any time soon, unless I can rank in last place.

Cedar Point changes for 2018
I really hope they don't completely get rid of the All Wheels Extreme show. I enjoy that show every time I'm up there.

2018 Construction in Coney Mall
Question for those more familiar with construction procedures: Would these survey markers be marking what's already in the ground (to prevent excavation crews from hitting it), or what's being planned to put in the ground? If the former (which is what I would think), then the lack of gas line markers makes sense, since Attitudes, as a retail shop, would have had no use for gas, and Coney Potato Works dealt in fried food, and deep fryers are (I assume) operated by electricity. The orange markers may simply be showing where the phone lines are that connected the phones in Attitudes and Coney PW. (Can anybody mentally map the markers to the Attitudes and CPW sales counters to confirm?) It's very possible in that case that they may simply be getting ready to install gas lines, if this is indeed a smokehouse.

Current wait times
My mom and I waited about 40 minutes for Scrambler in the 4pm hour. The operators were trying to fill half of the ride (6 cars) from Fast Lane and the other half from the regular queue. Unfortunately, a lot of groups of kids (mostly preteen boys) in Fast Lane would enter the ride area together, getting counted as one group, then split up and occupy separate cars, one person to a car. So in reality, only about three to five cars each cycle were being filled from the regular queue. I think they need to follow the lead of some other parks and make a policy of no single riders on Scrambler, because single riders (especially when a group splits up into singles) reduce the capacity too much. If not for all of the single riders, my mom and I would have been through in under 30 minutes, maybe 20, so it's a pretty big difference. Yes, the policy would hurt those who frequently visit by themselves, but that's a relatively small portion of the ridership (I did not see one person who was not in line with a group), and there are many other things for those singles to ride, including the Monster and Shake, Rattle, & Roll, both nearby.

Flat Ride at KI
I've seen fairly long lines for Holiday World's antique cars as well.

I still have no idea what they are. What are they?

Haunt 2017
Yeah, I made that walk back there with you and couldn't believe it myself. That line went on forever!

Fun Pix Issue
A couple of us were having issues with this last night as well.

Haunt 2017
There's actually going to be a bunch of us there tonight, as we're doing our annual Haunt meetup tonight. Check out the meetup thread here: We will most likely be at the right side of the front gate shortly after the parking lot opens. You're more than welcome to join us. EDIT: @MDMC01 beat me to it.

Improving Que Lines
Racer used to use both sides back when the station had a wall down the middle. You used the left side of the queue for the blue train or the right side of the queue for the red train. They removed the wall about the same time that Racer joined the Fast Lane program, so that they could use the left side of the queue for the regular line and have the Fast Lane queue on the side of the queue house enter the station through the ramp in the right queue, which is otherwise no longer used.

Improving Que Lines
This is known as a "power hour", and power hours need to be thrown into a bottomless pit in Siberia. Rushing to get trains out as fast as possible leads to mistakes on safety checks. I've had rushing ride ops pull on my shirt instead of my seat belt multiple times, and I've seen them not properly check an OTSR (e.g. just touching it instead of pulling on it) a few times as well. Once I even got dispatched without my restraints being checked at all because the op got distracted by a question and, in the rush to return to checking, forgot where he left off (thankfully, I checked them myself and they were fine). All of this is mostly the product of power hours, which prioritize capacity over guest experience and safety. That's backwards: the order of priorities should be safety FIRST, then guest experience, and THEN capacity. I would prefer by far to wait 45 minutes for an enjoyable and safe experience than 30 minutes to be herded like cattle with questionable safety.

Can you tell me about these coasters?
I think you misread the question. #6 asks for your top 5 WORST (not best) coasters. You listed Legend and Magnum as favorites, so...

That KIC Look - New Shirt Ideas
For anyone that wasn't around when the last batch of shirts was done, here's a couple pics. (The shirt is actually a very light gray, almost white, but the lighting on these photos makes it look darker than it actually is.) Front: Back:

Haunt 2017
Yes, I believe it is one hour before the advertised park opening. I see no reason to believe it would be different during Haunt, as it hasn't differed in the past. Saturdays and Sundays only. There is no ERT on Fridays during Haunt.

That KIC Look - New Shirt Ideas
I still have my KIC shirt from the last batch and wear it to the park more often than not (weather permitting, of course). But while still serviceable, it's definitely seen better days, so I'd totally be down for a new shirt.

Disney: Possible Spider-Man web swinging ride?
WDW News Today found a new patent strongly hinting at a swinging track ride, designed to be "an experience similar to what it would feel like to be with Tarzan or a similar character swinging between trees of a jungle on a vine or with Spider-Man or a similar character swinging on webs between buildings as you move down streets of a city." Details here: http://wdwnt.com/blog/2017/10/patent-hints-possible-spider-man-web-swinging-attraction-disney-parks-around-world/ Thoughts on this? The article speculates at the end that it might be installed at the DCA, Hong Kong, and Paris parks.

2017 2018 2019
I thought Sunlite looked good, but I only walked through as part of the behind-the-scenes tour at the ACE event. I also had never been there before, so I have no point of comparison to judge the specific renovations by.
