Ok, After seeing it for myself today, I agree that all seems to be intact.. I did however notice that there seems to be same land moving/Excavating In the inside land within the main left hill and the turn around for the first drop.. Not sure if I was always there andf I just never noticed or if something is indeed going on..

When I go tomorrow, if I see anything at all, Ill be sure to Post.. This would be devastating for me because of My Support of this coaster. I hope it isnt true..

I was at the park on Saturday, May 22nd with my brother in Law who went up the Eiffel Tower to get a birds eye view of things. I did go but I wish I would have.. he told me at the end of the night, "So there dismantling Son of Beast huh?" I was like, What?! Now, I cant confirm this because I didnt see it for myself, But He said that There are areas within Son of Beast that Looks like all that are left are the footers and Parts of the ride are Incomplete. Has anyone else seen this or can they confirm it? Im actually goin to KI tomorrow morning and Am gonna head up the Eiffel Tower to get a look for myself, But I was wandering if anyone else went this weekend and noticed anything?

I Too Went to KI on Friday evening with the intent of riding the storms out and getting some ride time.. And just for the record, It WAS Crystal clear the rest of the night and no other storm ht the area at all. They announced the park closure as the SUN was starting to come out! Very dissapointed indeed. The Park Director prolly had a Hot Date or something. Ridiculas.

IMHO, Boo Blasters on Boo hill is wayyyyyy more scary than it was when It was Scooby Doo. I have a 2 year old and a 7 year old who rode this ride many times last year as scooby doo and they loved it. When they left on a recent experience of the ride, my 2 year old was crying and my 7 year old, even though she was trying to be brave, looked scared as well. And My 7 year old rides The Beast and The Vortex. I think Cedar Fair made a HUGE Mistake in retheaming this ride... WHat doies everyone else think?...

I actually had a thread about that on another topic.. I think Steel track on this monster would be just the thing to Smooth out the ride, put the loop back in, and make it more enjoyable for everyone. Plus I could only imagine the Marketing strageties they could use for it. But as I said, SOB Isnt going anywhere. There just gonna redo it and rebrand it. IMO..

Wow! I cant believe the people Saying that SOB will Be gone after this year or next. That amazes me. Kings Island Has wayyyy too much money, time and area committed to SOB. I Gurantee that ride will be redone, rebranded and reopened either in 2011 or 2012 and Cedar Fair will make a BIG deal out of it. Just like their opening a new coaster. Mark my Words. SOB WILL NOT BE DEMOLISHED!

There are two ways your idea could be enacted, and both are possible and in use today. The first is to actually have steel rails held up by wooden supports. That is used at neighboring Adventure Express, which is a steel coaster with wooden supports. The other way that idea could be taken is what's happening right now on Texas Giant at Six Flags Over Texas. Dubbed "Iron Horse Track," it seems like they're placing iron beams along the wooden track... The first method is straight up a steel coaster. Period. The second is debatable - no one's quite clear if the Iron Horse arrangement counts as a steel or wooden coaster. Texas Giant's renovation is set to leave it with a 79 degree first drop, making it the "steepest wooden coaster drop is the world." The question is... is it a wooden coaster? Either way, I would guess that Cedar Fair will be watching this transformation very, very closely. Maybe for Son of Beast, maybe for Mean Streak. If this renovation proves successful, it may be the best alternative for their more painful rides. Well, it seems logical to me that since the all wooden frame is already there, it wouldnt make much since to do a total tear down and redo it all in steel.. And I totally forgot about Adventure Express being that way. OF course thats on a much smaller scale, but it just goes to show that it could happen.. Im keeping hope alive. I dont wanna see KI Scrap this Giant. It just foors me that there is absolutly NO Referance to it. On the park map, the website, no cue line, Nothing! Makes me think They have something up there sleeves ay?

Ok, this is my first post to this site, So I would like to say Hello. My Name is Andy and me and my Family are Perennial Gold Pass Holders. I have a suggestion on What Cedar Fair could do with Son of Beast. It saddens me that all signage and referances have been removed pretaining to this ride, so heres my idea on what to do with it. Anyone ever toy with the Idea of a Hybrid Coaster? Let me Explain. Son of Beast would keep its All wooden Structure, But have the track replaced with Steel Track used on generally all hypercoasters. This would allow them to put the loop back in, it would improve the shaky and sometimes painful issues that the ride had in operation and would make for an overall more enjoyable experience for the rider. Am I alone on this? Could it be done? Im not an engineer, but it seems to me that it Wood could Hold steel tracks and cars just as easy as it could wooden tracks and the heavy cars that go with it. This could be a whole new branding of this coaster. Maybe they could call it The Beast 2 or something. Let me know if Im goin out on a limb here if if this could be done! KI FOREVER! Andy
