Kings Island - Photos of Things Now Gone
i had no issues with his vegetarian menu post. He seemed very nice and seemed very interested in making friends, etc. We (terp and I along with others) helped him fine tune his vegetarian menu (jello no longer on it, etc.) What I got a problem with was the way he dismissed the facts and just inserted his own rumors and "facts" with disregard to what others were saying. Instead of just saying "oh I was wrong" it was more like cool ill go back and add an edit, but never admit i was wrong type of deal. It just seems for a person of his age he should have known better. Oh well... self policing worked in this scenario.... And lastly (more like a p.s.) the part about the deaths just irked me so much. For a person who was there and was friends with (or somehow knew the guy who died) he was not fairly good with the facts. If this was a 12 year old kid, then benefit of the doubt, a 33 year old man.... well yeah you say a false "fact" in the day of google (of something that is searchable, heck searchable on this website), you should be called out.

well I hate to say this, I really do, but sometimes its the tragic scenarios that help make things safer for the rest of us. I hate saying that I really do, but in could be considered that her death helped save future lives. Now it seems a no brainer that on a ride where you may slide out you should be snug into the ride, empty seats should be locked down etc. But who knows if she was not at .3 would she still have slid out? and was it .3 or .03? because if it was .3 that means she (average female body weight in the the 130s) means she had about 10 beers in a very short time.... Another trim on I305?
actually its nothing like building a race car. And what do you think a restrictor plate does? It restricts the amount of clean air going into the engine to slow the cars down. why did they do this you may ask? Well they did this to make the cars safer, as in its better to hit the wall at 190 versus 220..... Now onto I305....They do extensive simulations but computer models and the actual rides on human bodies can and are (most times)different. Things can happen, the human body is not a finite (X) but more an indefinite number. so sometimes things can change. If they think trimming this ride will make it more popular then they are not being silly they are being smart. Graying out is actually not fun for some or most people. Depraving your brain of oxygen can be a very serious issue (not saying the coaster does but in reality thats what is happening.) Some people enjoy this feeling so much that they die trying to repeat this occurrence. Now you said you did black out on SoB now imagine blacking out on this coaster. The quick turns could cause damage to the unconscious body.

Review: "Way Too Much TV"
well to be truthful probably a few reasons. 1. the average viewer of the shows will be older than 24. (I know some youngins will be in the audiences but not the typical audience) 2. some of the "newer" shows may not have a recognizable theme song. I couldnt pick out the theme song to many new shows, plus it looks like it may be avoiding cartoons. 3. The older shows are recognizable to the target audience (odds are the target audience are families with adults in the 25-35 region) 4. Just because they didnt include them is not a slight towards "your" generation but could be because there are no shows that "define" the 2000s ---- the 50s it was the honey mooners, 60s: I love Lucy, 70s: All in the family, Jeffersons, 80s: Cheers, growing pains 90s: friends, home improvement, family matters, full house, ---- in the 2000s.... its more reality tv (again dont count cartoons***). Looking at the list of shows from the 2000s it does not appear to have that family draw that the previous decades of shows had. You could make a case for how I met your mother or the CSIs (but if they did their theme songs it would just be a bunch of WHO songs.) Many shows that are on during the 2000s are special interest shows, that lack a sense of great inclussion, plus reality shows. But it seems that the 2010s have some shows hitting their strides for larger audiences (House, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family) *** the reason I did not include cartoons because each generation has its own cartoons. Plus no cartoon series has proven to be a long lasting media with few exceptions: The Flintstones, The Simpsons, (arg) Family Guy? Again my list of tv shows are shows that aired on the major 3/4/5 networks(ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW/WB/UPN), during Prime Time. But if you have a show you think would be good that would be easily recognizable by large audiences feel free to put them in here.

Another trim on I305?
oh no doubt when they built it they probably thought, man there is such a slim shot that this ride will go x mph. But it seems if something could go wrong it probably will.... now with this ride it just needs to be slowed down. Possibly the numbers they were crunching for speed and gforces were off by just a smidge. greying or graying out on a coaster is not so bad but if many people are doing it, then theres the issue..... haha DVO i got that little engineer, designer, assembly worker line from my uncle. Hes a nuclear engineer and he tells me that his plans were always right, it was the people putting it together wrong... ha

How New Health Law Will Affect Cedar Fair and Other Seasonal Businesses
well its still early (4 years away) the bill could be amended twenty times by then. But it looks like the amusement parks may get around if most of the people they hire are already covered by their parents. They could offer the insurance but not many will take it. I thought it was interesting about the part of 120 days. Thats 3 months. Could that mean that we may not see the same smiling faces all summer by then? But then again though, I am sure Cedar Fair is leaning heavily on its representatives.....

cookies would be nice... the insult to the eagles didnt bother me (i never rode it, even though I passed them by all the time) I took offense to the part where he made comments about a movie company killing people. This is considered a major case of Libel. This is a very bad thing. Whats worse is the fact that some things he stated could very have well been made up on the spot. The pictures are nice though..... Also, no matter the age, 33 24 or 44 we are all kids at heart

Another trim on I305?
well its slight attempt at humor.... fail... and secondly just because its a high tech world doesnt mean much. In discussing a building design at a job site (i was doing interviews for a tv show) and the contractor showed me plans that someone drew up that didnt include a load bearing wall or any feasible way to hold certain aspects of the design. The contractors had to tweak the design in the field to make it work.

Wildebeest Testing
yet this video reminds me why engineering a water ride wouldnt be as much fun as a dry ride... just because of the water blah....

Big Dipper for sale... Again!?
wow... well the future of this ride seems unknown.... so guy A owns the ride but Company B owns the land the coaster is sitting on? Does Guy A have to ask for permission to see his ride? Is anyone taking care of the ride or is it just sitting out getting weathered? Man TERP I agree with you, who is making deals for this company? If I sold something I wouldnt want to hold on to it..... I think I may make a trip over to GL this week and see if I can get any cool shots on the ol camera....

Another trim on I305?
that lift hill is wicked quick...... maybe if they didnt Sling Shot up and over... but then again who knows (I know the engineers know).... now DVo many rides have some sort of a trim on the drop. Its not a design flaw it just happens. Ask any engineer and they will tell you that the contractors didnt build it right or the designers didnt have enough real physics. The designers will say the engineers didnt play it right and the contractors didnt build it right. And the contractors will tell you the engineers didnt make the plans right......

or they repainted them.... selective i gave you the benefit of the doubt earlier but now you seem to be nothing but trying to troll on here and start trouble. and they are the same flying eagles. new paint job. Before you start anymore wild fires with your tongue, you should check the facts. As someone on here told me when i first started "those who know dont speak and those who do speak dont know." You are dangerously stepping into the speaking with out knowing area....

Another trim on I305?
gigs I understand what you are saying. But (there is always a but, aint there?) a ride is for the general public not the thrill seekers. Echoing what Browntggr just said, if the ride has an issue with graying (greying?) out for most people then we will see a trim added somewhere on the hill to slow the ride down. Yes some trims and some MCBRs are very strong. But the reason they brake that hard may have to do with how fast the train is going, how heavy the train is, etc. For every force there is an opposite and equal opposite force. If the train is going 60 but the designers/owners believe that the train should be going 40 well it will brake harder than if the train was going from 45 to 40

Whats the funniest rumor youv'e ever heard?
I have feeling some of these rumors are being made up before they are posted..... for skylab to "fall off its axis, roll through oktoberfest, then hit the Eiffel Tower" would take a lot of coincidences and speed. Not to mention the major collateral damage caused by a ride "rolling" through the park to reach its destination. Not to mention that if anything as big as skylab would hit the tower it would cause significant strucutral damage to the tower..... and lastly isnt the Eiffel Tower located up hill from october fest? I mean this in the nicest way but where in the world do rumors like this (and the disrespectful paramount conspiracy theory) come from?

Another trim on I305?
I absolutely LOVE this post, and I totally agree with you. I like steep drops, zero-g rolls, loops, cobra rolls, launches, airtime hills, curved drops, and vertical lift hills. See my top 5 wooden and steel coasters on my profile for a great example of what I love most. I have a thirst for extreme rides, and you will see me on the world's craziest rides with my hands up and a huge smile on my face. Trimming every ride to the point where it's leisurely is not fun for thrillseekers like me and many, many others.. we love rides that leave us out of breath, and who cares if we see a few gray spots, it's not like we're disobeying the signs that strictly prohibit people with certain medical conditions from riding. If we wanted to ride kiddie coasters, we would. Leave our THRILL rides alone. but you must remember that the people in charge do not just trim the coasters for the fun of it or to destroy the ride. With a ride like I305, with it being new, they have to make it so that the most amount of people will want to ride it. By trimming it just slightly (to say lower the amount of gray outs) they may lose only 100 riders a day (say the thrill seekers) but they may get an additional 300 people who want to re-ride the ride, where those 300 people wouldnt want to re-ride it again, so its a pluss 200 people (or plus 100 if the thrill seekers would re ride it). Now should a ride be tamed down to nothing, no. But should a ride be made to incorporate the most amount of people? Yes.

Kings Dominion ... What To Expect?
random thought... do you think the reason KI's water park is top notch is because it has to compete against the beach, while KD has great atmosphere because it had to compete against busch gardens?
