  1. X-Base bathroom confirmed! If only...
  2. For the record, I interpreted that abbreviation as "good". When I went to KI last week, the food was pretty good. Granted, we really only had one meal, at RHOFG. It was really good. If it was available outside the park I'd go to it. I have yet to try Hank's Burrito Shack... or Chicken Shack. Pizza was always decent.
  3. I still call the other two Paramount franchise rides in AZ FACE/OFF and Drop Zone. FACE/OFF could work if the slash was removed (there's currently a reality TV show on Syfy called Face Off) and Drop Zone really could have been left alone. There's other rides with the name Drop Zone (such as Alabama Splash Adventure's new tower ride). Both of these rides had very minor ties to their namesakes and very little actually had to be done to remove any movie references. I don't know if there was themeing around FACE/OFF at the time, but I'm pretty sure Drop Zone: Stunt Tower had nothing to do with the movie, aside from a loose movie studio stunt theme. CF was also very unoriginal when choosing the names Invertigo and Drop Tower: Scream Zone. One is the manufacturer's name for the ride and the other is literally what the ride is and is rearranged (with a word changed but same initial) from the original ride's name. Plus, people don't really remember either of these movies. I didn't know they were movies until after the name changes, and I was born 2 years after the Drop Zone movie and one before the Face/Off movie! Also, both ride names make complete sense on their own. FACE/OFF because you face other riders when riding, and Drop Zone because... well, you drop. Now, IJST, Top Gun, and Tomb Raider (and to a lesser extent, The Outer Limits: Flight of Fear)? All those are clearly franchises. IJST doesn't make any sense on its own. Neither does Top Gun. You could make a case for Tomb Raider, but it's still a very well-known franchise. In any case, IJST and Tomb Raider were heavily themed to their namesakes unlike the other licensed rides. Flight of Fear got lucky as Paramount made an original story that is loosely based on The Outer Limits. When the license expired (or when Paramount decided to pull the licensed name for whatever reason), the only major change was the restraint system. The storyline stayed the same and the video played in the queue remains to this day and was even remastered for new LCD TVs. Getting back to the real topic, I think I liked it best as Top Gun, but I'll take The Bat any day over Flight Deck. I'd take Afterburn over Flight Deck.
  4. I guess at least Mean Streak lasted longer than its siblings. Much longer than the oldest. I'm really thinking this has to be an RMC. I doubt CP would make a huge deal out of a complete demolition of one of their coasters. Even a GCI would likely require a near-complete demolition as they tend to keep their coasters short in height.
  5. true, though he states that he asked if he could wear his Gopro on each ride since it was on his wrist and that some of them told him it was ok in fact one part u see the ride op talking to his camera However, many rides at KI state that cameras are strictly prohibited.
  6. CF closed Geauga Lake a few years after buying it. That means they're going to do the same to KI.
  7. Yikes. This would suck if it's your only visit of the year.
  8. They aren't really that similar. Mystic Timbers is more of a combination of The Racer and The Beast: a mostly terrain-hugging airtime machine. IMO it's a much better addition than another major roller coaster with a 52 or 54 inch height requirement.
  9. Maybe the second announcement is that the log flume will revert back to its original theme? Or maybe they are replacing BLSC with 'Tiques?
  10. So, what are we going to do about Greg violating the TOS?
  11. I wish I was going on Thursday, but tomorrow seems like the best day for my family's once-a-year trip. Thursday isn't looking good.
  12. And they would be right on one of those.
  13. And apparently ride licensing is as well.
  14. I think new, more comfortable trains might do well. There would be initial backlash but as long as the ride can run the new trains without significant modifications it should be fine. KI just shouldn't sell off their old trains before the new trains have proven themselves.
  15. Maybe it's a first of its kind trash can!
  16. Of course, it's the week my parents and I are planning to go to KI. My parents won't be too happy about this I guess as long as there isn't Christmas music throughout the park it would be fine. I could see it just being in Planet Snoopy. Hopefully the announcement is announced soon so we can plan our trip around it!
  17. If we get a giga in 2020, the gap between Diamondback and it would be the same as the gap between Magnum and Millennium Force. Just thought that was interesting.
  18. There's already a trim on the first drop and you want to make the ride taller so it will go faster? Also regarding ACE Coaster Classic status, The Beast is already ineligible for it due to having headrests, seat dividers, and no buzz bars. New trains (besides ones meeting those specifications, which will NEVER happen) wouldn't make a difference.
  19. For 2019 The Beast should get a station reconfiguration and either reconfigured PTC trains or Millennium Flyers. Neither of these things will happen though.
  20. 2004 was The Beast's 25th anniversary, 26th year of operation.
  21. I guess food was pretty bad at CP last year if "hot" is considered an improvement.
