Thunder Alley could be no more...
I did. I think that's kinda funny, especially considering that building behind WindSeeker.

Methods for the cure of KI Off Season flu
Not my namesake but it's my standby. The other answer is KIC. Duh!

Thunder Alley could be no more...
^^ I just wish he would have passed on the cigarettes so he wouldn't have passed so fast! More on topic, I would really love to see some more piles of removed concrete in Action Zone. Seeing the pic of the defunct AT has really gotten me excited for an AZ facelift.

Flashback Till Opening Day 2013
Aside from The Beast, that canopy is my greatest childhood memory of KI. If the guy in red wasn't smoking, the look on his face would seriously make me wonder what he was thinking .

2012 Hawker Wooden Coaster Poll
666 ballots were turned in so doesn't that make Hades the winner?

Thunder Alley could be no more...
Wait, KI had go carts? I thought that was a skating rink!

Thunder Alley could be no more...
I can definitely vouch for there being some history behind Nemo's frustration and he has good reason for it. I left for awhile because people can be ridiculous. However, there are some salt of the Earth people on here and a ton of good content. Probably a good time to thank a mod!

Name calling is constructive.

Thunder Alley could be no more...
I personally have enjoyed the content added by everyone "involved", for lack of a better term. Nemo, please quit threatening to leave. I have always greatly enjoyed your presence here! Edit to add: I keep trying to figure a good way to say this. Henry, I took offense to your post because I had left this site before over the bickering and it Psst me off hearing a formerly active member saying that. KIC has given me much and I get annoyed at escalatory statements. I was all excited to see you posting again and then it was negative. Just a bummer for me.

Coaster Train Seat Padding
Cost is probably the main issue.

Vortex to be retired soon?
You must not like airtime... floater that is (See what I did there). The third hill in that seat (3-2) is one of the most amazing coaster moments of all time. I love 1-3 but 2-2 and 3-2 are sublime. So smooth and re-rideable. Probably the only coaster I've gone 10+ laps on consecutively. BTW 8 on Raptor in abt. 45 mins was not a good idea Truce accepted.

Son of Beast roller coaster to be removed
Seeing these pics almost makes me wish I would have ridden it a second time. My one ride during RWCW (I think) really was the only time I've been scared on a coaster since I was a kid. It wasn't the fun kinda scared though.

Vortex to be retired soon?
There, I fixed it for you. Had to fix your fix

Son of Beast roller coaster to be removed
Seing the people on the ground really puts the size of SOB into perspective and makes that structure falling... something so dramatic I'm lost for words. I can't imagine how loud that was, and that's coming from a guy who plays Mesa Bogie Triple Recs.. Schrute, I can't imagine them wanting to risk the liability.

Son of Beast roller coaster to be removed
Lots of loss in that area. Cobra had poor quality steel and SOB had poor quality lumber. Maybe we should hope for B&M just for the sake of reliability and longevity. McSalsa was saying wood. That coaster looks crazy fun!

Vortex to be retired soon?
It's such a solid coaster that I'd bet it will be seen like Magnum which is still widely popular (for those who know to sit in a middle seat). Arrows suffered poor transitions and roughness, by design (at least those I've ridden). Not knocking Arrow, more the technology of the time compared to today's. B&M hypers are of a different caliber and I expect they'll stand the test of time more than Arrow will. I think Raptor is a good example of the longevity of their appeal.

Problem/Violent Guests at The Haunt
I think part of the problem is that it triggers the "I'm tough" gene, not to mention lots of adrenaline. Meaning, you scare some one and they want to overpower you to prove themselves. It's kinda in the nature of The Beast with Haunt too. Imitating violence triggers self-defense thoughts, whether genuine fight or flight response or just someone trying to be the tough guy. I notice this sparring. Even with good friends, it gets very intense and you have to put extra effort into pulling your punches. On that note, that's what I loved about Black Belt level sparring. You can just go at it because everyone is expected to be able to take a blow.

Wasn't that only the rails though? I'm thinking of the painting around DB opening.

Sorry! I erased my post but can do nothing for quotes. I was offended by name calling and felt the need to post what I did.

Election Day 2012
The Suspended Party chose not to run because of Flight Deck's history of swing voting.

Vortex to be retired soon?
I agree about the look of Vortex. I don't care to ride it much anymore because it's too tight of a fit for me but I still love looking at it, especially in pictures. Edit: To remove comments about the "flame war" and to let sleeping dogs lie.

Boy, 2, Killed In Mauling At Pittsburgh Zoo
Shark, I have a 4 year old daughter who I love dearly. Therefore I am very careful to not put her in dnagerous situations. You're right Shark, if she died under my care legal consequences would be a drop in the bucket of my pain. My previous career was dedicated to helping children in neglectful situations... and my primary goal was keeping them in the home by improving the parents ability to provide for, protect and nurture them. I have had many days in court over abuse and neglect cases and am considered an expert by many. If you put your child in harms way you are responsible. You're the adult and should take that responsibility seriously enough to always go the extra step in protecting them. Not putting them in dangerous situations. Whether or not she deserves legal consequences depends on the situation. If I took my child on a sled that repeatedly ended up going into a busy street and we eventually got hit and severely injured surely you would see me liable. At least I hope you would. If we we're injured hitting a tree that was well out of our path it would be different.
