  1. I agree, Maverick is AMAZING. Best coaster at CP, IMO. Really nothing there even comes close. It's my #1/ 2 steel coaster, back and forth with Griffon.
  2. Alright. We'll probably have to go to the Giant Food Store before the park opens.
  3. ^aHA! Thanks very much sir. How close is that Giant food store?
  4. BUMP Alright...anyone have a plan of attack for Hershey? We'll be there on a Saturday, so....well you can see the problem there. Help?
  5. ^Adam, that's kinda personal and I doubt they woulda wanted you to say that.....
  6. 1. Actually the opposite happened....Vekoma attempted the invert after B&M had made the great models, but they are highly regarded as awful rides, or "hang and bangs". However, they sold well because of their low cost, less amount of time needed (pre-designed models) and smaller footprint. 2. Inverts are and have always been B&M's most popular model....if I'm not mistaken they've had one installed every year since 1992 (bar 2005 and 2009) and more than one most years. 3. Hypers were hardly every secluded to a certain few years. Sure, there was the CF trio in '08-'10, but in 1999-2002, four hypers were built. So it wasn't really a fad, as much as say, standups or floorless coasters. Now on to the original topic. Yes, you are correct, the park had announced that the coaster would be a B&M. Looks like a pretty neat coaster. I'd be anxious to see if B&M takes a shot at the 4D concept with flipping seats. They would probably have to control the flipping with a computer program, or else they'd have to put another set of rails like X.
  7. From what I've heard, BGT is getting an Intamin Wing Rider. Don't quote me on that, I haven't been exactly in the loop when it comes to that coaster.
  8. Well Intamin has a similar design called the Wing Rider. One example is Furius Baco at PortAventura and one is thought to be going in at Busch Gardens Tampa.
  9. What's this mean? Could it mean that the GCI rumors aren't true or is Kinzel pulling our legs on this one?
  10. GAdv will be on a Friday. And when I went to SFMM I got the Platinum FP, which was not even CLOSE to as expensive as the ones at GAdv....though it is extremely helpful. I'm sure you'll find it worth the steep price.
  11. Some additional notes: I have admission to both Great Adventure and Dorney. However we have found decent discount tickets to Hershey. I believe that it's $11 off at Giant Food stores. Does anyone know of more discount tickets?
  12. That makes 3 of us, doing basically the same trip within a few weeks.
  13. Here's the trip: 21st (July): Leave after dinnertime, stay in a hotel 22nd: Drive during the day, arrive at Dorney around Dinnertime/ evening, ride the rest of the night. Drive to our next hotel after closing at 10 23rd: Drive in the morning, arrive at Six Flags Great Adventure before opening. Stay til close. Drive afterwards to our hotel 24th: Drive in the morning, arrive at Hershey before opening. Stay til close. Drive to our hotel. 25th: Drive home. We have all of the hotel arrangements taken care of. The point of this thread was to ask for help. -For the most part, we know we have to ride Talon, Hydra, Steel Force, Ka, El Toro, Nitro, Fahrenheit, Storm Runner....oh you get the picture. We know we have to ride all of the big rides. Are there any smaller rides that we should do? -Places to eat in and around the park? We will be eating free breakfast at all of the hotels, and after that we will eat one meal in the parks each day. -Any in-park itineraries? -Coaster #100! It's currently planned for Talon, and I trust my sources on this one (Adam) but who knows! I currently have 94 so I'll be getting my 100th at Dorney -Has anyone been to Hershey on a Saturday? Gotta admit I'm kinda worried. How crowded should it be? -All in all, we are allowed on 33 coasters (Rolling Thunder and Lightning Racer count as 2). Optimistically, I'd guess we'd be able to get on about 25-30 easily. Alright that's it! Feel free to leave any tips or not, otherwise this can be used as a tool for others forming a trip to these parks. Thanks! PS Expect a PTR! EDIT: I've posted this thread on -G also for some other feedback.
  14. While X was a failure to Arrow, it's still the most unique and innovative coaster I've had the privilege of riding.

I've ridden Diamondback, Goliath, and Apollo's Chariot, at I rank them in that order. AC seems very forceless to me.
  16. I'm not usually one to judge coasters, but are enthusiasts really saying THAT could be their #1? It really doesn't look all that amazing.
  17. This actually sounds like a lot of fun. Do you need to be affiliated with a certain coaster club?
  18. a. Completely and totally agree. IMO, Kings Dominion doesn't hold a candle to Busch Gardens. b. HAHAHAHAHA new signature!
  19. Kevin is one of those people. I really need to go here soon. Jackson, the Dragon Challenge queue still looks pretty awesome. Read this awesome PTR.
  20. My friend went to WoF a few days ago and said that his pass did NOT scan. He had to go to guest relations.
  21. This is shocking, saddening, and heartbreaking. I first heard on Dave's Facebook status, and I immediately checked KIC. For those who never met him, he was the essence of a good man. My prayers are with his family and everyone at Holiday World.

At CP, I'd say front seat for most of the rides (I'm a front seat guy). But on Wicked Twister, my favorite row is, by far, the second to last. Obviously because you go up really high, but when you're at the top of the back spiral, you can look down. Plus the back row just looks straight into the second to back, because the cars have two rows.
  23. Eh, I guess I was just expecting some sort of animatronics, it was just a pitch black concrete tunnel.
  24. I rode Frightful Falls on Saturday- completely and totally skippable. It's a pitch black tunnel, then a slow outdoor section, then a lift and drop. That's it.
