  1. With a general admission ticket it's the honor system, I presume. They scan the ticket and make sure that it was used on that date. The hand stamps are put on a different hand each day so people can't reenter on a stamp from a previous day. Also, the numbers change every day. They may be changing the colors now as well.
  2. That's why everyone should keep their tickets. Handstamps are common at MOST amusement/theme parks in this country. They had a sponge dipped in ink when I went to Disneyland this past year. I believe Disney also tried a fingerprint type system that got abandoned because it had too many errors.
  3. It might be a deterrent. A lot of the people that come to KI would be angered though. And a ton of people already just ignore the attendant at gold pass and drive right by. Is the attendant supposed to chase them down? There is no phone out there to call security either, not that it would really even help as security never does anything when things like that happen at tolls (drivebys without paying even when the car is in plain sight).
  4. If they allowed it to be scanned more than once someone who looked similar to the person the pass belonged to (a twin or sibling for example) could be handed the pass somehow and get into the park on that pass. If you DO get a stamp and it washes off go to guest relations and they will let you into the park after scanning your pass to confirm it is you. They cannot do that at the front gate because a red X appears.
  5. They used the invisible ink and blacklight last season.
  6. It would honestly depend who you get out there. That job is incredibly boring and most of the employees are apathetic teenagers. What they really need is a scanner and raising bar that will only let gold and platinum pass holders into that lot.
  7. Even the invisible ink would come off with sunscreen. This ink is better for the environment, among other reasons. That is why the switch was made.
  8. The platinum pass for 2009 is $150 unless you renew in which case it is $140.
  9. If you renew a pass from 08 to 09 you keep the same card for the rest of 2008 and for all of 2009. You still have the remainder of 2008 to get in on your pass. The point of keeping the same card is to eliminate people having to get their pass processed.
  10. haha. you should of said in the parking lot so you could move up n the line I work there. So they asked me where it was. Guests expect you to know everything! If I was there as a guest I probably would have said something like that though! Haha, if they believed Carrie was there I'm sure they would believe she was in the parking lot.
  11. I had someone ask me with a straight face "When and where is Carrie Underwood performing?"
  12. Cedar Fair has made it less fun for the employees. Many people I have spoken to who have worked at KI for years said they were sad to see Paramount go as the owners. I can tell you that there are a ton of stupid rules that have been implemented since CF took over.
  13. Picnic grove rarely sells out. You can buy it online, at the front gate or at the picnic grove. Hope this helps!
  14. I work at the park. If the child is borderline, they are likely to charge you the child price because if they are borderline on many of the rides, they will not let them on.
