  2. Sure, it's called reality. First off, there's nothing wrong with my opinion. I like themed rides better than ordinary coasters, deal with it. Secondly, if you can think of something (realistic) that hasn't been done on a coaster yet, and doesn't involve theming, you let me know. Lastly, about the 'future' of the park, look around. Everyone here is waiting for the ultimate coaster to end all coasters which is never going to happen. Everyone hoping for that is in denial. The evidence of what the park is into now is everywhere. IJST, TRTR, SDatHC, Happy Days Diner, Wildthornberry's R.A., all of HB/NC, FoF, etc. I don't know about the rest of you, but to me that spells "we love theming now" very clearly.
  3. In my opinion, coasters by themselves are getting dull. They need something to make them interesting and different..theming. How many coasters can you name that have a chopper firing at you in the middle of it. Let's face it, there's nothing new a coaster can do. They can't get higher, they can't get faster, we used every turn and angle physically possible in every imaginable sequence and combination. IJST has the first original idea i've heard in a long time: the fishtail...and that's technically theming. Theming is the future of this park, and I say hooray for that. My vote goes for Addams Family.

    Moniker or no, it's still a rock/rap/whatever theme...and I despise that idea.

I hope they're not serious about the FoF retheme. If that gets an Mtv theme, I will probably never ride it again. I'm not joking. What I love about that ride is the theme..(I love Sci-Fi if you can't tell). Trying to copy Disney's Rock n' Roller Coaster is a pretty lame idea. There's nothing wrong with FoF anyways; why fix something that isn't broken. Spend the money on a new ride, not to do something pointless to an old one.
  6. Ep. III in a nutshell.....Down In Front!!! Warning: major spoilers...this video is 7 minutes of scenes from the movie, in order.

I have two traditions. If I ride Viking Fury, I still continue the "Taste Great, Less Filling" chant. The second one I have been doing for as long as I can remember. In the Paramount Story, I used to always act out Indy's part when he's about to grab that idol from the boobytrapped pedestal. I still do it today, nearly every time I'm in the park. Call me a dork if you must, but it's still fun to do.
  8. I've been told by someone making the ride that knows Garfield personally...and has also heard the music.
  9. I hope they discard that film, then burn it. Of all the rides at Universal Orlando, that was the only one I hated with a passion. That movie is so terrible, mostly because of how confusing it is. For those that haven't ridden it, you have a choice: pay attention to Jimmy and the movie's sad excuse for a plot, or pay attention to the hijinx of all the Nick characters in the background. You can't do both, I've tried...it's impossible. There is so much going on at once in this movie that it's no fun at all. Not to mention the fact that the ride itself is just a pathetic version of a motion simulator.
  10. Too bad the soundtrack wasn't up yet either...I can't wait to hear it. If it's by the guy who did the music for MIB:AA, then it's gotta be good.
  11. The line for Beast used to stretch back near where IJST is now.
  12. "Variety reports that Paramount Pictures has picked up Stephen Sommers to direct a remake of the 1951 sci-fi feature, "When Worlds Collide." Sommers will write and direct the feature. He will also produce along with partner Bob Ducsay. The original classic told the story of a group of scientists who find that another planet is heading dangerously close to Earth. They make plans for a small group of humans to leave the planet before the inevitable collision. The film is expected to be big in budget and scope with plenty of visual effects." I don't know about everyone else, but this sounds to me like something Paramount might convert to ride form in the future.
  13. I hate the Beach. The first and last time I was ever there was when i was 7-10 years old (it's been awhile, so i can't remember the exact year). That day was the worst example of "guest relating" you could imagine. Here's the story: It was a long time ago, in a waterpark far far away....(enough joking..to the story)..I went there with my mom, my brother, and my mom's friend and her daughter. I don't know if they have lockers or what now, but back then, the popular thing to do was to just leave your bags on a beach chair and go ride stuff. We all separated for a while, and were going to meet back at the chair at a certain time. I got back first, only to discover two guys going through our bags. My mom and the others got there a couple minutes later, and a big argument ensued. My mom found an employee, and this is when it got interesting. That employee couldn't make it more obvious that the theives either worked there, or were his friends, as he pretty much refused to do anything..(I can't remember exactly what he said). So, my mom's friend went to go get a manager, (this is why I think at least one of the two worked there) and one guy ran for it. My brother, friend, and I gave the best chase we could, but he was at least 18, alot faster, and we lost him at the wavepool. We got back, no manager yet, so my mom told us to just go ride some slides and things. After a couple rides, my mom and friend and security found us. We were being escorted out of the park "for making a scene" as my mom put it; and according to her, they let the other thief go. None of this is exaggerated or altered in any way; it is told exactly how I witnessed it. Not suprisingly, I really don't care too much for any waterparks now.
  14. Maestro was by far the best of the ghosts; very creepy, and he had that classic laugh. By the way, the Shakespearean actor was named Lionel Burymore "You think you will be allowed to leave once you have heard my music? I don't think so."
  15. 21 in June, yay!
  16. 1. b 2. b 3. b 4. a 5. b I'm willing to give Volcano the benefit of the doubt here. I haven't ridden it, but it looks fun...and I really don't care too much for Face/Off anyways. I have also never been to Dominion, but many of the rides are similar, and PKI's just look better, especially TRTR. Fire is a great effect, but if that's all that FireFall has over TRTR, well..it's probably not a better experience.
  17. well, there are two kinds of people in that category. 1. People look at the building, then at the sign, then at the cave, then at the building some more. Then they finally ask greeter, "What the hell is this ride." These people will also continue this simple phrase when the finally see it, and still can't tell what it is. 2. There's the kind of people that get off the ride, have no idea what just happened, and say, "What the hell was that?"
  18. Then what's the point of owning it then, if you're not allowed to touch it.
  19. Well, it's either expand, do nothing, or keep tearing down the other rides to make room for new ones. I think we all know that pki is running out of rides to take out.
  20. Correct, and since War of the Worlds is Paramount's biggest movie...ever, it's almost a guarantee that we'll see some kind of attraction based off it within the next several years, at PKI or one of the other Paramount parks (most likely PKI, at least).
  21. I've seen it run, and let me put it this way, it's program doesn't do anything more than TRTR does. And, I've been on a normal topspin before. I know what they do, and I still like TRTR better.
  22. I just want to see something big and effects-ladden themed to War of the Worlds in the near future.
  23. Aww man! No stomach-wrenching moments on IJST. Those are the best things about coasters aside from airtime. This thing had better not be too family friendly that it's boring.
  24. Unfortunately, I think the day of the giant coaster has ended for PKI. I think they're going to stick to the Universal formula now, and make smaller, heavily themed attractions. And that's just dandy for me.
  25. Lights off is better; it preserves the Outer Space feeling. I wonder if the noobs have any idea how to turn the lights off, cause it would seem like that's the case. Here's a hint for anyone here that might work FOF: when in doubt, flip all the switches off.
