I'm not looking forward to the line for Mystic Timbers... I'm also hoping people don't use it as a reason to be super dramatic and complain about how the lines are "always 3 hours long at Kings Island".

Are one of the stands serving poutine? Or are you just talking about making your own at the buffet?

Yeah, there are some pics that got leaked. The brake fins were damaged in some capacity on the launch run. But I'm not going to speculate as to what happened or what caused it. The ride broke, the safety systems in place worked just as they should and the worst thing is some people were inconvenienced. Something to mention is that even when the ride malfunctioned people were still safe. There are tons of redundancies designed into these things to make sure even in un-thought of circumstances people are safe.

I'm willing to bet most kids don't even notice the more detailed themeing. Other than seeing the characters themselves, I never really noticed anything had any relation to HB. I knew I could go there and meet Fred, Dino, Scooby etc. But my alertness to any themeing pretty much ended there. Other than the old HB Carousel having the characters as well. Because it was fun riding on Jabberjaw or Dino.

If flight commander had a divider/passenger restraint that acted like a divider, she wouldn't have fell out. Just saying there are a reason things are the way they are. Sure it doesn't go upside down, but they do not want you to be able to just slide across the entire car or be able to just stand up/fly out because you were sitting dumb.

If Coney does get decorated, I could see them using it for horse carriage rides. Didn't this used to be a Winterfest thing?

Very little... The bigger renovation was from the original theme to The Wild Thornberries, but the ride its self didn't change, other than when they added the water spraying elephant at the end of the ride. Basically the only thing they added for the Charlie Brown conversion was removing the giant RV/Congvy and the Nick themeing, then adding peanuts decorations. Like the trees and snoopy at the end. All of the colorful cartoony looking things on the buildings were all done for Wild Thornberries.

Jeeze I didn't know it was relocated... I even spent a year working on it. lol

I guess something got edited that someone said, or I misread there post. It sounded like they were saying it currently only had 5 cars. At least from my recollection.

More like a dive coaster... Which would actually probably be more popular with the GP than a giga here.

But beast has 6 cars of 6 seats a piece...

The Beast is one of the smoothest wooden coasters around that's older than like 8 years. I think it's fine. If they went with other PTC train setups it would just have even more invasive dividers like what they have at holiday world and on blue streak.

Anyone there today? Curious how busy it is.

I love the shed as well... the GP does to. KI did a good job with it. I'm gonna have to look for the blades that pop out and the hvac line.

After riding Rougaru at Cedar Point this year, Vortex feels like a modern B&M. :\ I did give it a lot of hate, but if I check myself on how other steel coasters are aging and their roughness it's great. I think we are just a bit spoiled with how smooth everything is at KI.

Just not a lot to fit there... and unfortunately typical flat rides aren't going to bring crowds in or support the capacity a park this size needs. The flight commander pad is pretty small and likely wouldn't support a ride of the size we would need. Then they also filled in the stairways going from the queue to the ride so it might not even be able to act as a stable foundation for much of a bigger ride. Most rides require a foundation to be built for the purpose of the ride itsself. That's not to say they couldn't level it and go from there. But if we do get a smaller flat, it will need to be part of a few flats being added and an area renovation/expansion which would cost a lot more there than what we see them normally do with HBL/NU/PS. I do also think the park is in the decade where they need to make the call to expand on the otherside of The Racer more or not. There really isn't much space left in the current park without losing some attractions.

The company very rarely makes chain wide decisions. Quite a bit is left up to individual parks, especially when it comes to day to day operations. They just don't want to be always called to guest services for guests complaining about people "breaking the ride". If they were to make a chain wide policy on this, they would mechanically limit the scooters ability to snap.

Ah that's pretty cool. That piece of wood is gonna end up in the trash within 10 years. lol. Unless someone offered to buy it from him when all this went down.

Kind of wondering if the Winterfest investment is going to eat into what we get/don't get for 2018.

I've never been a day this year that I felt fast pass would be worth it and I've been pretty much once a week all year. I almost feel like these are selling themselves as status symbols more than anything.

If KI got the Eagles back they would have a rule against snapping... so yeah... I don't want them back at this point.
