It should be illegal to go to KI, and not ride The Racer. It's been there from the begining.

For me, it will always be The Beast. I feel like the people in the Disney commercials. You are an adult when you get on the ride, but by the time it ends, you are a kid again!!!!

You should have said, " Yes, but this ride is so big that it travels underground through KY, and IN!!!! It's the only coaster to travel through 3 states!!!! Thats why it's in the Guiness Book!!!"

I'm think I'm gonna go bid on the woodies. It'll be a great way to get some cheap firewood!!!! LOL Just kidding.

I joined last summer. My oldest girl is 12. We took a trip to KI, and I was pointing things out to her like where the "big" log ride used to be, the building that used to have a boat ride through the smurfs villiage, and before that Hannah barberra land...She said Hanna who? Anyways, after we got home, I found this site while looking for some older pictures of the park, and yes, the best pictures are here. I joined the site, and have read the boards daily ever sense!!!

I would guess they are turning it around more for insurance/liability issues rather than money, or cheapness. Obviously, I don't know that for sure though.

The only thing I worry about.... Well, both sides are going the same way now, and they park is really light on attendance today, so lets only run one side. Hope those thoughts don't come up, but they probably will.

I don't ride The Racer backwards. I tried it once, and didn't care for it, hurt my neck. I think it would be cool to ride it frontwards, down the Coney strip side.... When you ride it frontwards now, theres not much to look at...

I am in Columbus. Here, model railroaders build their stuff in sections, and then a few times a year, they set the whole thing up as one big unit at the fairgrounds. Maybe if you look into some of the model railroading clubs in your area, you'll find a similar thing. Build each area by itself, and then take it somewhere else to set the whole thing up as a single unit.

OK, I just finished a round of RCT3, and I got the new names all figured out!!!! Top Gun - Roller Coaster 1 Face Off - Roller Coaster 2 IJST - Roller Coaster 3 It's a pretty sweet system, don't you think? We can re-name every ride in the park!!!!!!

I saw a skunk scurrying around in the grass by the big flower clock, before IJST was built. There was a lot of open ground there when it was the taxi's

Sticking with what they did to the new Beast,why not call Face Off, Son of Screamin' Demon' Top Gun - Raptor (as in the new F-22 Raptor, not CP coaster) Tomb Raider - The Holy Grail (Every Holy Grail book/movie ends up searching through an undergroud tomb) Italian Job - I liked somebody elses idea of Road rage, pretty cool name I call Drop Tower - "No f-in way I'm riding that"!!!!!

Thanks everyone, we were thinking of the Kings Island Resort...So it sounds like that's what we'll do.

We are going to take a 2 or 3 day trip to the Island this season, thanks to "Dub Ya" for the tax rebate!!!! LOL I am wondering what the best hotel to stay at is. Is the Kings Island Inn the closest Hotel to the park? I would like to find someplace that we can park the car in the Hotel lot, and then walk, or catch shuttles to the park. We have a small child, so we may need to leave a few times for rest, snacks and things. So a shuttle with several trips back and forth would be ideal. I know when we camped, the tram just ran back and forth all day, anybody else do that? Thanks for the help!!!!
