  1. So International Street is emptying because the park closed at 7PM tonight, but about 20 minutes ago, I observed two KICental staff members (who shall remain anonymous) entering the queue to The Crypt with a cavalier attitude--as if the park weren't closing for such VIPs. Can anyone confirm that KI was held open late to accommodate KICentral.com big wigs? (Obviously, I am kidding...) But why did the park close early?
  2. You did an Excellent job on that! Thanks. I'm glad you like it.
  3. Here's a "flipbook" thing I tried to do using the high speed burst on my Canon 40D: http://www.jumpcut.com/view?id=3DD139A20F4...B22000423CF037A
  4. No one could seriously suggest that Cedar Fair would leave the Paramount logo in place. However the new sign should have been something other than regular block lettering whose font hardly matches the rest of the theater's design. Why not include a Kings Island or Cedar Fair logo in some way? If any thought or budget had gone into the project other than a reflexive "remove all the Paramount stuff" they would have taken the time to remove all of the Toyota logos, too.
  5. I cannot imagine that Cedar Fair could have spent any less time or money creating the new "Kings Island Theater" sign. Disappointing. Compare it to the old Paramount Theater sign: http://www.ginormous.org/gallery/main.php?...g2_itemId=10123 It really has to make you wonder if Cedar Fair cares about anything other than ephemerally holding world records at Cedar Point.
  6. You can check out the original NY Times article here: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/10/business...amp;oref=slogin It's worth the free registration since the NYT site includes a time lapse video of the construction of Toy Story Mania and there's a pretty nice photo of the Mr. Potato Head audio-anamatronic.
  7. Are you talking smack about Tilt-A-Whirl's? That's good old-fashion family-fun right there. I'd say TurkeyWhirl was more fun than a handful of coasters at Kings Island or Cedar Point.
  8. I'm glad to hear so many of you enjoyed seeing the photos. Not to toot my own horn, but if you check out the link my brother mentioned you can see photos of both the first and second trains of Firehawk from Saturday which were filled with KICentral.com members and if you click the "Full Size" link you might be able to spot yourself "flying."
  9. Disney's parks are 1-6 and 8 in attendance in the US already. Worldwide Disney parks are 1-8, 13, and 18. CF's most attended park (Knott's Berry Farm) came in at #13 in the US in 2006. http://www.coastergrotto.com/theme-park-attendance.jsp
  10. http://www.rcdb.com/ig731.htm?picture=1 California's Adventure also shows what Disney can and might do with a park more in the thrill than theming mode. Most Disneyland aficionados say they enjoyed Disney's California Adventure more when it was Disneyland's parking lot. Disney doesn't invest enough in the parks they currently own. It would be a terrible, terrible, terrible decision for them to buy Cedar Fair. It would have made much more sense for CBS-Viacom-Paramount-whatever to have bought Cedar Fair.
  11. You can kinda see a drained Whitewater Canyon in this "Bird's Eye" view: http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&amp...9&encType=1
