Since we are wishing...I wish they would follow the lead of Holiday World. ALL of the Pepsi products are available for FREE!! Yep! If you haven't been to Holiday World, all the soft drinks are free. They have unmanned fountain stands around the park. Go in, get a cup, ice, and whatever Pepsi product you want from the fountain machine. NO LIMITS! No bands, no cards. Just pay your entrance fee. Oh, yes, the waterpark there has sun screen available throughout for FREE also! And the other parks want to charge $2.50 for a 20 oz. bottle?
  2. I'm with you HauntGuy. There had been a rumor that was started, and pretty much stayed, with the building of Italian Job. Paramount wanted to try and make KI the Disney of the midwest. HUGE mistake on their part. KI has always been a thrill park and hopefully will always stay that way. Firehawk should be great. I've ridden it's smaller sister in Carowinds (Borg: Assimilator). Was lots of fun. But, I think it was only a single load station. Rode it the first year it was there.
  3. WOW!! Two assumptions in the same entry. I never cease to be amazed at the unknowing knowledge people have.
  4. I extend a big T H A N K Y O U to KIC for keeping us up to date with construction pics, but I am disappointed in KI that they are using an unofficial source to keep the fans posted of construction progress. That should be the park's responsibility. KI has always been LOUSY about keeping construction progress posted for its customers and potential customers. I have been working in retail for over 20 years and I think they have most assuredly missed the boat in some very cheap advertising by being so inept at keeping people posted of their new progress. I LOVE KI, but don't think they keep their public as informed as they really should.
  5. During a Beast Birthday party (25th I believe it was), there were tours of the park for party attendees. It was stated then, by Jeff, that they knew that the trains for SOB were too heavy. But supposedly they needed them for the seat configuration because of the loop. We were even shown where the trains were causing washboarding of the track at the bottom of the main helix. What I found interesting was a rumor that the design house (Stengel) said that regular trains would be fine. KI decided to go against it with the Premier trains. I have mixed feelings about SOB. I've tried comparing the ride on SOB with Beast and thinking about the trains. There is SO MUCH more flex in the trains on Beast with virtually none with the old trains on SOB. I can't believe that houses like PTC or GCI would not, or were not, willing to build trains to accomodate the gauge on SOB. I would love to have seen, or see, PTC trains on there. GCI would be good too. I've never had the experience of a MF train. I have experienced Gerstlauer trains. Something is just not totally right with the trains. Can't put my finger on it. The Legend at Holiday World was originally operated with a G train which was replaced 2 yrs later with PTC trains. I really hope that PTC makes the new trains for SOB.
