  1. I remember when TopGun first opened. I thought the queue was so cool. They played the soundtrack to the movie and they had that part of the queue that looked like the inside of the boat that the planes take off from (sorry I don't know what that is called) The ride operators dressed up, it was just cool. While I still enjoy riding TopGun, I agree and say it is the worst ride in the park.
  2. Dude that is so a good idea. I love researching histories of amusement parks and I love finding out information about KI and past rides.
  3. This may be a stupid question but the movies shown in FX Theater are they movies that you have to thread through a projector or how does that work. I mean I work at a movie theater and I work as a projectionist sometimes so I know that a projector can be threaded in a minute or less but wouldn't it get a little tiresome for the projectionist. Someone enlighten me.
  4. I only bring the neccesities to KI. (money, asprin, sunblock, and a hairbrush) I have no problem if they want to search me because I have nothing to hide.
  5. Bah. My brother took me to KI last summer on Bring a Friend for Free day. NEVER AGAIN! It was so freakin' busy that in 4 hours we had only ridden 3 rides.
  6. yeah I see your point. Never again. It was just a one time thing becuase we felt like being dorks.
  7. Hmmm didn't know it was illegal. I know they ask you not to take pictures on rides but I always thought that was for safety reasons. What about the pictures I took while we were riding the bumper cars and antique cars? Are those safe to post? If not I will just post the pictures we took with Patrick and the Fairly Odd Parents.
  8. Well yesterday was my first time to PKI this season. It was my brothers 5th time since April (he is a gold pass member) Well we get there at 10:30 because my brother had football workouts early this morning so we didn't leave till 7:30 and had to run to the bank and gas station before heading on the road (we live in Indianapolis, IN) Anywho of course we rode the Delirum first because that is our favorite non coaster ride. Afterwards it was a trip on SOB. I thought it was a bit bumpy but not too bad, but I will never ride in the back seat again. Afterwards it was onward to The Racer. Well lemme just say it was BEYOND hot yesterday and so as we pulled back into the station I felt as if I was going to hurl. Luckily I was able to wait until I got to a trash can and did my hurling in there. The funny thing was I hadn't had anything to eat all day so it was all liquid. All Mt. Dew to be exact. So after that we took it easy for a bit and went and rode Scooby Doo, Sky Tours (yeah so what )and the Antique Cars. I don't care what any says I still miss the Smurf Enchanted Voyage. After that we were both pretty hungry so we headed back out to my car to eat because we packed a cooler of sandwiches, chips, and water. Back after lunch we went up the Effel Tower, the Adventure Express, FX Theatre, and then The Beast, the BEST RIDE EVER!!! Well I don't want to bore you too much more, but basically we had a good time despite the heat (we didn't go to the water park because I'm nursing a knee injury and was wearing a knee brace). There was no lines. The longest we waited was 5 minutes. The only major rides we didn't ride was FOF (my brother can't because of his height and weight. He's 5 feet 11 inches and all bulky because he plays varsity football and the lap bar won't close all the way for him) Face Off and Vortex (because I can't handle upside down rides too much)
  9. okay I see. I guess it was just due time because I've been to plenty of other theme parks with seatbelts on their rides.
  10. really? I never heard of any fatal accidents on those rides. The only fatal accident that I remember PKI having was on the Flight Commander.
  11. Anyone know why they don't do the Slime Time Live show anymore? Despite being 23 years old I still always enjoyed watching it. Also what is the deal with seatbelts on Beast and Racer? We've gone how long without them and now unless you have your seatbelt buckled they won't let the train leave the station.
  12. Well hmmm, there was the time I went to KI with my Girl Scout troop back in August of 1992 and a friend of mine decided to bring her NKOTB bookbag full of NKOTB pictures and posters and toss it off The Racer as we were headed down the first hill. Luckily she was sitting on the left so she chucked it were she couldn't have hit anyone, but it was still stupid on her part. I went to KI once with my best friend back in 1993, and we rode The Racer 8 times in a row and once there was a couple who made out the entire ride. I just went to KI yesterday with my brother and we decided to take a disposable camera to get some pics. Well we decided to be dorks and take pictures of ourselves on the rides. They turned out GREAT! My brother took an excellent shot of himself on The Beast as we were going through the tunnels. If I can get my scanner to work I'll post them here. When we were waiting in line for The Beast there was this guy behind us telling the people they were with how they have redid the layout of The Beast 5 times since it opened because so many people didn't like it. He said the last time they redid it was back in 2002. My brother and I just burst out laughing. My brother used to be all about posing for the ride photos but yesterday he refused to. He was telling me how PKI is in cohoots with the government to sell the ride photos to the CIA and FBI. The funny part was he was so serious. (He's 18 BTW)
