  1. I've got one... most annoying PKI employee. You know, the ones who get on the PA for rides and try to be funny, but you aren't. You know who you are if you're on here!
  2. What's their fire and rescue team like? I mean, does it have pumpers and all that good stuff, or is it something small specifically for certain emergencies within the park? Sorry, being a firefighte, I've got to ask that kind of stuff.
  3. Scooby is comparable to PT, but I believe it actually has a lower capacity. Delirium's line goes much faster than you'd imagine. It has 5 queue lines, I believe, and the giant frisbee will hold almost a whole queue. It has a very efficent loading system. TR:TR has a low capacity becaust the ride takes a long time to load and unload. Everyone has to empty out their pockets into these pouches unless you want eveything you have on you to be dumped out. If you haven't ridden TR:TR, I would recommend it, it's a fun ride.
  4. So do preformers usually enjoy the park before their preformances?
  5. I wish they would stick to the themes a little bit more. I mean, I-Street does have the Eiffel Tower, but other than that, it's just a name. It used to have more international resteraunts and stuff, but it seems to be more commercialized now. They've done well with Rivertown. I'm not one to think that it should be specifically water rides. I still kind of get a feeling of walking through the old west while I'm there. The Beast, and to a lesser extent, TR:TR still kind of have old looks to them, so I think they fit in there. I never really got why Nickelodean Central is near Hanaba Barbarra Land as opposed to being next to Water Works. In the theory that is in my head (which means nothing to reality) it seems like a kid would ride the rides, get hot, and then decided to go to Nickelodean Central. From there, he or she would decide to go to Water Works. So the kid would have to put on their shoes, and walk soaking wet down that path that seems to go on for miles, or they'd ride the train and soak the seat that they're in. Personally, I would have put the ampetheatre there, but had Nickelodean Central in Water Works. Action Zone is themed decently. They make attempts with the Stunt Crew Grill and stuff. They need to bring back the stunt show that used to be there. That was fun to watch whily you passed by. Now that mini water tower-looking thing is more or less just used to hold up the Timberwolf sign that is the size of a "No Parking" sign. Coney Mall should be the biggest area in the park. You can have anything there. It seems like the name is simply a tribute to the past. I guess there really is no way to theme it, except have it look like Coney Island maybe, but oh well.. PKI and Coney Island are based off of two totally different concepts.
  6. I doubt they'll do anything for SOB's 5th, although like I said before, I'd love to see tunnels added to a helix. The Beast's 30th will probably just be another banner. I doubt they'll do anything to the ride itself.
  7. ^ How does that work on a cell phone? If it works like normal 911, it could go either way. I'm going to have to use a KY example here, so brace yourself. Covington has its own dispatch, so if you're in Covington, theoretically your call should be routed to Covington's 911 dispatch center. Now, it comes down to whether you cell phone carrier realizes that you're in Covington or not. So, if you're near the river, let's say, you'll probably be using a Covington tower, but if you're near Devou park, you're probably using a Park Hills tower. In that instance, it would go to Kenton County instead of Covington. I know that most of you are from the Mason-Landen area, so you probably think that it's all farms here, but guess what, it's not!!
  8. Don't get me wrong, I love Action Zone to death, but don't you think that if they planned a little bit better, they could have kept Adventure Village and put rides there that fit the theme? I mean AE, TR:TR, maybe even PT would have fit in there. Unfortunately, now there is no home for such rides, and those rides did (or didn't) fit the theme of the areas they in which they are/were built. <<<Back to the topic>>>> Here's one that we can all work on: I miss when people used to ride Viking Fury and when it hit the apex on one side, the people would yell "Taste great!!" and when it hit the apex on the other, the other side would yell "Less filling!!" When I first saw people do that, I was about 6 and had no clue what they were talking about, but now that I think about it, it was probably pretty funny at the time.
  9. lol...good idea SOB_TOM! You should have a final showdown half way beetween the parks near Columbus, I guess. It should end up with park employees as well as enthusiasts from both parks battling it out by hand. The ending should be Jeff Seibert driving one of those minature novelty Eiffel Towers through the GM of CP's head. You know, a nice violent ending to earn that R rating.
  10. Or it could include the track for the trains' housing...who really knows.
  11. That page is pretty cool, but I'm looking for accounts of actual experiences.
  12. lol...wow, this discussion has been posted over and over and over and over... oh well, I'm not one to gripe basically, I think it breaks down to this: rides - CP wins personality - PKI wins
  13. ^ I've heard that they have their own 911 dispatch center too.
  14. ^ Well, the numbers disagree with the numbers on the web page. Did they let some guy just type up the web page with his estimates?
  15. No, Surf Cincinnati was below the par of Water Works and extremely below the Beach. I doubt PKI would have any use for that stuff.
  16. Here is a question that I have been pondering for a while, maybe one of you will have an answer: Where is Kings Island? Geographically speaking, it's in Mason I believe, but the park describes itself as being in Kings Island, OH. Surely the city wasn't called Kings Island, OH before they built the park. Did that particular part of Mason succeede from the city or is calling it Kings Island, OH a marketing thing?
  17. Oh, I'm not doubting that it's a great observation tower. I mean, don't get me wrong. The structure is beautiful and very memorable, but do you know why they chose the Eiffel Tower specifically? I mean, they could have had a gigantic Big Ben and it would have had the same effect.
  18. hmmm.... I know that every park needs some sort of signature gigantic structure, but why the Eiffel Tower? Does anyone know why they chose it? Was there a contest or what?
  19. lol..ouch! I don't think I'd ride that... looks like a poor design.
  20. Well, for those of you who haven't seen it, here's the plot off the top of my head: The dad takes the family to Kings Island because he has to present some blue prints for a new area of the park. One of the boys (Peter, I believe) is holding two tubes: one with the blue prints, one holding a poster that he won at one of the games (the football game on I-Street, I believe). Anyway, he gives his dad one of the tubes believing that it is the blue prints and holds on to the other--eventually loosing it. His father is about to make the presentation and finds that he has the wrong tube. The whole Brady family then searches the park for the other tube. One of them finds it and of course saves the day. Interesting notes: -Greg plays the football game which is still there. -If you know the layout of the park, it's funny to see them run around looking for the plans. For example, they'll be by The Racer, make a turn and be by the tower, etc. They basically just used this as a scenic showing of the park. -It's interesting to wonder if the show were reality, which section of the park he had planned. -I believe the basketball games were there, but there were no shots of stupid kids loosing control of the balls! (That one's for you, DragonLord) -They brought the help on vacation with them. (Alice) -In all reality, they wouldn't team up and find the blue prints, they'd end up fighing and playing a blame game and they'd never find them. -Peter screws up like this in every episode, if his father were any kind of man, he'd fire the little brat and possibly disown him. No second chances.
  21. hmmm...I don't know about that. You really have no idea who typed that up...
  22. I'd be more than willing to format the pages, and give them to you as a new history section. It's the least I could do with how often I'm on your site.
  23. BoddaH1994 replied to StXBomber's topic in KI Polls
That sounds great! Let's just hope that it doesn't turn into an attack on people's characters or anything. If everyone realizes that it's just for fun, it would be great.
  24. I am not trying to start anything, but, what are the forums here for? People give there opinions, and talk about likes and dislikes. Saying that we should not talk about the problems and go to guest relations, is just like saying if you really enjoy something, don't talk about it here, go to guest relations as well. Many of us do not have connections to the park, is it wrong for us to praise the park as well? I totally agree with you. I've been jumped on here many times for expressing opinions. In all reality, these forums are a great thing. I mean, if it weren't for PKIU, I probably would think that I was the only person getting hurt on SOB. If you guys really think they should so something, we should start a drive in which every time we visit the park, we ride the ride (to give it a fair chance) and if it's overly turbulant, or you get hurt, let 'em know about it. Perhaps PKI doesn't know that people are uncomfortable on it. I agree with whoever said that saying stuff on here doesn't help...to an extent at least. It's up to us to actually take action. -Ryan p.s. To whoever suggested that SOB needs a tunnel -- that's an awsome idea!
  25. It's also possible that it was owned by King's Entertainment. Of course, it may have been created after the park, and named after it.
