Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor To Close After 2025.
Here’s to hoping at least some of the park can be saved. Recently watched the Expedition Theme Park video covering this park. Certainly not the biggest, baddest, or best park ever, but I hate to see any park close.

Hanna-Barbera Memories
From the KI History Facebook group. Figured it was worth a share. From the Smurf’s Enchanted Voyage:

If Orion came before Fury
In any other park, Orion is a flagship coaster. But within the KI-scape that includes a coaster like Diamondback, it will always play second fiddle. The layouts are too similar, with elements of Orion riding like lesser versions of what can be experienced elsewhere in the park. I’ve had a bit of a personal renaissance with Orion over the last season or two. It’s a blast. There are just better coasters in the park. Comparison is ultimately a thief of joy, so it’s important to enjoy it for what it is, regardless of stats, etc. It’s just not the coaster it’s “supposed” to be. That said, regardless of timeline, I still believe reception would’ve been the same given the park it’s in.

A lot of love going into this one!

Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare Construction Progress
Looks like media day is scheduled for next Thursday, April 16th. Check out the video on Instagram Looks like the park sent media outlets a “trunk” with a flashlight that can be used to reveal a hidden message within the box. Unfortunately, looks like the flashlight in this video doesn’t work. Ha. Hopefully not a sign of things to come. They also included a ticket that references the opening years of each version of the ride. The box itself features some throwback character images and Easter eggs. “Ship to Bosco” is a fun throwback. Hoping we see him in the ride, if he ever got that dressing room door open. Haha. The “Haunted Theater” was the original concept/name the park came up with before R&R got on the project, if I remember correctly. Happy to take one of these off someone’s hands…

Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare Construction Progress
Granted, we haven’t seen the entrance in its entirety yet, but I can’t imagine why they’d have to remove the trees they did, here.

Thought the same. The music notes gave me Magic Kingdom Birthday Cake Castle vibes at first. Eyes looked a bit cartoony, too. But cleaning those up, along side some of the more castle-y bits made it look a bit plain. The more I’ve looked at it, the more it’s grown on me. Not that I hated it or anything, but I have a feeling it will work well with the art design of the ride itself, which we haven’t really seen much of. As far as the sign, I’d imagine it would be the official logo: But personally, I feel something like this would look better color-wise:

Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare Construction Progress
Short video teasing the “new” facade has found its way to Instagram. Check it out! The disembodied flashlight hands are… a choice. But I’m impressed with the amount of work that went into this. Still think it looks like a castle, though. Looks good!

Feel like there’s another door/entrance right around that area that leads directly into the lobby/queue area. You might be onto something.

Monster Mansion Love
This one’s on the list. My wife did it years ago and loved it. Can’t wait to ride it.

If it we’re to be inspired Music Hall/CSO, they’d bulldoze the entire building and replace it with an unwanted concert venue designed for the ultra-wealthy. Thank whatever god you believe in that they’re not involved in this project, architecturally related or not.

Man. If the filled in the castle dental molding, it would’ve looked 100% better. Looks fine from this perspective. What’s inside matters the most. Definitely still looks like a castle.

Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare New in 2026

Kings Island will have one less roller coaster in 2026
Well, I’m keeping the credit. *adjusts fanny pack and glasses*

Kings Island General Discussion 2026
Spot on. The exception, at least in my hopeful opinion, would be for the parks that “work,” I.e. Cedar Point, Kings Island, etc. If they can generate revenue then I would hope the board can see stuff like this as valuable and embrace it. Definitely not applicable to every park in the chain, though.

Kings Island General Discussion 2026
More than just tradition, too. Hate to be so corporate minded about this long standing tradition, but it keeps people in the park until close. More people in the park = more money to spend. I feel like John Reilly’s recent comments about the lack of revenue as a result of canceled seasonal events would apply here, too. But who knows.

Any current photos of the Coney site since demolition?
Already using that $8 million wisely. Great. (Thick Sarcasm)

Might finally be getting that Little Bill’s Giggle Coaster RMC reboot we’ve been wishing for.

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
100% agree. New water ride would be my top choice for that space as of now. Plenty of space in AZ to develop the next big coaster. Anything coaster-wise built in The Vortex will draw comparisons, for better or worse.

Discussing Land and Space in and around Vortex
Truly appreciate your creativity. There’s so much that can be done with this space and I look forward to seeing your other ideas.

Coney Island Permanently Closing
Shame on them. Hope they’re all voted out. Public opinion on this has been pretty strong. Coney feelings aside, there’s much more that these funds could’ve gone to that would’ve benefited the city much, much more. Pretty transparent and embarrassing,

Bye bye, Boo Blasters
If someone paid $90k for that I hope they intend on being buried in it. Wow.
