  2. A 49-year-old Maineville woman was indicted Monday by the Warren County grand jury after being accused of stealing $75,000 from Kings Island. The indictment alleges that Darlene Powers, between May and July of 2006, used her position as a cash control supervisor at the amusement park in Mason to falsify bank records indicating she made deposits that she never made, Warren County Prosecutor Rachel Hutzel said. Kings Island officials discovered the missing money after an audit, Hutzel said. Powers is charged with grand theft and tampering with evidence. She worked for Kings Island for 15 years and held her position as a cash control supervisor for about eight years Courtesy of Tiffany Y. Latta of Dayton Daily News.

  7. It was moved before that.
  8. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that when he quit his job, he probably made a scene, which led to security being called. When security arrived he probably fusseled with them and odds have it he lost the battle with pepper spray. When he was "detained" it was probably to clean out his eyes, take a police and park statement, and could have been taken to jail for resisting arrest. Please excuse me for reading between the lines. P.S. By favorite line is, "The police came and they slammed me on the ground and pepper sprayed me twice," Fisher said. "All because I wanted to call my mother.""
  9. You bought the 16.99 ticket correct? If so, you bring what you got in the mail to the park check in table in front of Will Call to get your lanyard and events list.
  10. I believe the general consensus is that it is not a coaster because it is powered by a on board motor.
  11. You go in and fill out paperwork, than you go into a room with judges sitting at a table, "American idol" style. You have 2 other people in the room in which you have at your disposal. The judges put you in situations, you act it out. You thank leave the room into the waiting room, if you were good enough, you go into a measurement room where they take your picture. After that you go into another room to discuss the hire process and ask any questions about employment at Kings Island.
  12. Tubaman, when facing the metal detectors, look left, you will see a sign that says KICentral on it, and a crowd of people. There is a handful of tickets left before the cap. We don't have the ability to "reserve" tickets so the sooner the better. Remember you must have a ticket to participate in any of the activities!
  13. ^Don't worry, we will figure it out. You can order as many tickets as you want. They are typically mailed next biz day. Remember, you MUST purchase either the picnic only ticket or the admission+picnic ticket to take part in any of the special activities!
  14. That area is/was where Kings Island shot there fireworks off for years.
  15. I did it last year as some of you may know, it was a absolute blast. When doing your auditions, go absolutely nuts. Why? A: You will never see the people who judged you ever again. B: If you are really good, you can get placed in some rather nice spots, like the greeter to Cowboy Carnage, or The Undertakers chainsaw wielding minion.
  16. Anyone else notice the titles of the story's exaggerate the storys? Title: "Police appealing for witnesses to stabbing at Canada's Wonderland" Story: "The victim was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries"

  20. Posting a sign that says that the attraction is not responsible for injury's is not a get out of lawsuit free card. The injured party will typically always win or get a settlement if they can prove that the attraction did not take the adequate steps to prevent injury. Which by the disorienting effects that make up specifically haunted houses, would be very easy to argue. Disclaimers of liability have also been found to be against public policy as the operator, not the guests, is in the best position to take steps to lessen the possibility of injuries.
  21. Please do not make these kinds of threads. The information changes hourly which can make them unreliable, if a ride will be closed for a while, I'm sure it will have its own thread dedicated to the issue.
  22. If you are getting the supplied password message, go to pki.com/sonofbeast and refresh the page, the password is saved in a cookie that will time out if you don't fill out the page fast enough.
  23. Most activities are easily handicapped accessible, althow The Beast and Son of Beast backstage tour may be alittle hampered due to its offroad and terrain changes. Flight of Fear can be done if you can handle a few steps and stand for 15 or so minutes.
  24. There is no minimum age, all kids under 13 must be accompanied by a responsible person preferably over 18. We are not babysitters.
