Official opening is tomorrow night I think.

Annoying habits of guests
If you ever see anyone walking around with 3D glasses from Spongebob, just inform the nearest associate or security guard and let them handle it (unless of course you're an associate).

Construction on Flight Commander Site
I agree. A ferris wheel would be a great addition. Only problem is they take up a lot of space so they'd have to flatten out that small hill there and possibly demolish the old laser tag building (not that there'd be anything wrong with that...). In fact, two major ride companies have a product called Giant Wheel that would be perfect: Ride Trade (Intamin) Giant Wheel Vekoma Giant Wheel

Went the 14th too!
Slingshot does look like a lot of fun, but I just don't feel like paying so much for one ride. If it were cheaper (ie $5 or less), I'd consider riding it... I did go on Drop Zone yesterday before work (waited an hour), then went to watch the Wild Thornberrys ride for a while, but it wasn't any fun because they didn't have the elephant turned on.

Attendance last week
I was mainly interested in what the Math/Science Day was all about. As it turned out, I ended up sitting around doing nothing for about 15 minutes until my supervisor showed up because HB isn't part of the Math/Science Day thing. I already knew how late I'd be working, although I was a bit surprised at the number of young kids who were still there after 8. It was a fun night, except for the hour or so when the rides were shut down because of the weather.

New WOF TimberWolf warning sign
I don't think PKI needs this. Anyone riding a Level 5 thrill ride should be well aware of what they're getting into...

IJST Mentioned in Latest AAA Magazine
Here's an excerpt from an article on Ohio theme parks that appears in the Cincinnati edition of the latest issue of AAA's Journeys magazine (probably appears in other Ohio editions as well. Not sure.): Article info: Title: "Out of Control" Author: Sally S. Doran Where: Journeys Volume 26 Number 5 (May/June 2005) [Cincinnati Edition], pages 34-35

What ride is overrated at kings island
Yeah. I never have understood why people wait so long for that ride. Of course, I never have been a big fan of the Tomb Raider video games or even the movie, so maybe I'm missing something.

Pay per play rides
I didn't know it was legal to haggle over the price of pay-per-play rides. I thought you just had to pay whatever they said the price was.

PKI Newsletter #4
Sounds like it's going to be crowded on Sunday, assuming the weather holds out. Can't wait for the official IJST opening either, although I haven't actually had a chance to ride it yet...

What ride is overrated at kings island
I don't think it's over-rated at all. It's still considered to be one of the best wooden coasters in the country, and I never get tired of it. If any ride is over-rated, it's Adventure Express...

TRTR at Canada's Wonderland
The latest issue of the Cincinnati edition of AAA's Journeys magazine includes an article about several Ohio theme parks (Cedar Point, PKI, Geauga Lake, Kalahari Waterpark Resort (in Sandusky apparently) and the Beach). There are a couple of photos along with this article, one being of Cedar Point, and one credited as being Tomb Raider The Ride at PKI. However, the Tomb Raider The Ride shown in that picture is actually the one at Paramount's Canada's Wonderland (figured that out using Google's image search), which can be seen at http://www.coasterimage.com/pictures/canad...lercoasters.htm. My question is of course, why is the one there so much different than the one here? I know that several other parks have a Top Gun and a Vortex that are quite a bit different than the ones at PKI, but at least they're still roller coasters. This isn't even remotely similar to ours (although it looks like fun).

Work weeks
Definitely apply online. That way they'll have everything together when you get there and you'll have less paperwork to fill out.
-
Smoother SOB
So couldn't PTC build custom trains for it then?
-
Great Wolf Lodge Coming To PKI
I live about 30 minutes away (10 minutes north of Downtown in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Northside), so I wouldn't stay there either.
-
Construction on Flight Commander Site
The Eagles were a lot of fun, and they should have left them in. There's still plenty of room for them over next to IJST.
-
Smoother SOB
I've done front seat on both rides this year, and still like The Beast better. SOB is a rough ride, but I think that only adds to the experience.
-
Work weeks
I'm doing it, and haven't found it all that hard. The most important part is to try to schedule your work week around your school schedule so you still have time to do homework.

Work weeks
I think they're about the same.

Great Wolf Lodge Coming To PKI
That should give Caribbean Cove in Indianapolis some great competition...
-
Attendance last week
It would have been busier on Sunday if it hand't been Mother's Day. It should be interesting to see what kind of a turnout we get on Friday evening. Also, what all is involved with these Math/Science Day events? I'm working 3:45-Close on Friday...

The Best Section
Coney Mall, because it's home to so many great classic rides - The Racer, Scrambler, Shake Rattle and Roll, Monster, Zephyr...
-
PKI Museum
I think a PKI museum would be a lot of fun, but it would be even better if it had some of the history of Coney Island as well. It would definitely be interesting to know what rides were where and when they were taken out (and why), etc.

Bavarian Beetle
Ooo... Old PKI photos! I vaguely remember that Big Slide. When was that taken out? (sorry for being off topic).
