  1. This past Saturday there were at least two incidents in Festhaus. After the first one was broken up, a Mason officer and Warren County deputy hauled someone out in handcuffs after security told him to leave and he refused. This resulted in a loud chorus of boos and even a few middle fingers being thrown in the direction of the officers involved as if they'd done something wrong. As we were about to walk out of Festhaus, another incident took place in almost the exact same area (near the restrooms) - suddenly a large group of people goes running towards the restrooms and all you hear is "oooooo!", followed shortly by several security personnel also heading in that direction. At that point they were telling people in Festhaus to either find a seat or leave, and reportedly weren't letting anyone else in either.
  2. Correct. The ball has not been there at all this season. It was removed for media blasting (to remove any old paint and dirt/debris from the frame) earlier this year: https://www.facebook.com/cincinnatiblasting/posts/4946918102026925
  3. It appears the one at Cedar Point did. I found a video of it on YouTube that was posted on May 7th, the day CP opened for the season.
  4. Interesting to see that it's been removed completely. I just assumed the ball was missing because it was being repainted. Hopefully they'll put some good flats in that area, especially with all the space available on the other side of AE where part of Skylab used to be
  5. I was last down there in 2019. I plan on visiting again in August.
  6. Interesting idea but I feel sorry for the employees who get stuck working overnight - I doubt that many people will come between midnight and 8am
  7. I'm wondering how Gerstlauer is involved in this since they didn't manufacture the ride.
  8. I believe the ones complaining are the residents of Kings Mills who were there before KI. Given that KI has been around for 50 years now though I can't imagine there are too many people still around who were there before the park opened. Also, I wouldn't be too surprised if the sound carries that far. I remember when I worked at the park in 2005, I could hear Mercy Me performing at Spirit Song from Planet Snoopy. Granted I was also working the helicopter ride at the time and it was late so things were a bit quieter but it was still cool to be able to hear it that far away.
  9. I read on Facebook that there was no actual collision and that ride ops stopped the ride as soon as they realized what was happening. I have no idea if that statement was made by a ride op (in which case they could very well get fired for saying that) or someone who just happened to witness the incident.
  10. I'm sure the park will have Orion back to multi-train ops as soon as they can. The fact that this happened early in the season is a good thing - the park is closed to the public the next 4 days so that gives them time to get the necessary people in to review everything and make any necessary adjustments/repairs.
  11. I haven't made it to downtown Cleveland yet (closest I've been is Rocky River Reservation and Memphis Kiddie Park), but you might want to check out The Arcade while you're there as it's supposed to be a cool place.
  12. I still haven't decided if I'm going at this point. In the past I've done both CoasterStock and Holiwood Nights, but things were a bit different then (different employer and such). I've got plenty of time off I could use but I don't know how understanding my current employer would be about me taking two Fridays off in 3 weeks - even though Friday isn't typically one of our busier days.
  13. Sounds like this is their answer to "people actually want more than just a pool", but it certainly won't appeal to as many people as the classic rides did, and in fact it will mostly appeal to kids. I'm also wondering how well the whole "arts and crafts" thing will work in a pool setting...
  14. New for 2022: Action Alley. https://coneyislandpark.com/attraction/action-alley/ Inflatable obstacle course, arts and crafts, jump pad, foam party and even inflatable axe throwing (no I'm not joking).
  15. According to the HoliWood Nights Facebook group, the round of invites sent out yesterday was the last one, so if you didn't get one you're unfortunately out of luck for this year.
  16. Looks like another round of invites just went out. I got an invite email yesterday. Haven't yet decided if I'm going to go or not - I'd love to but at the same time I don't want to take that much time off work all at once (I'm already taking off the Friday of CoasterStock, and planning for my birthday at the end of June and the 2nd week of July for Dollywood...)
  17. I don't think what's happening with CP Subway will have any effect on ours. Different franchise agreements and such.
  18. It will also be interesting to see how many first-timers there are
  19. It's "The Darkest Day" from the Independence Day soundtrack as mentioned above.
  20. Hopefully the park will continue maintaining the organ from now on. It's going to be great having it back this season.
  21. That attachment didn't work @PKIDelirium
  22. The only definite one on my list right now is Dollywood. Might do quick weekend trips at other nearby parks as well (Kentucky Kingdom, Kennywood, Indiana Beach, etc.) but haven't decided yet.
  23. Definitely going to be interesting to see what they do in that area. I am glad I got to ride Plants vs Zombies last year (I tried in 2019 but it was always closed when I went by it), and was already planning to return to Carowinds for their 50th anniversary season next year anyway. If this actually happens I'll definitely have to make good on that (and maybe swing back by a couple parks in VA in a repeat of my 2019 trip to hit up Pantheon and Zumbili)
  24. I hear "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Maneater" on the radio from time to time
