Cedar Fair Management
Expect to see an infussion of Internationals working at the park next summer. How do you think Cedar Point staffs the park and all the resorts during the summer. We will see the same aspect take place at Kings Island and I can honestly say I find the service and staff to have a more profesional feel at CP than KI. I am not knocking the great employees of KI, I just feel that the staff at CP performs their job with more maturity.

fearfest ideas
Really? Did not know that about them. Only know from what I have seen in haunts and shows that had their props on display. Makes sense as to why you dont see many of them. Thanks for the info. Ok well how about a generalization then, I think FearFest needs more props that do more than just sit there. Im talking Jumpers and Thrashers, gets kinda old just seeing bloddy torso after bloddy torso. They need props that offer startle factor, given Maze of Maddness usual has a few good ones. I am also a big fan of the ExMortis StalkArounds. I think those offer a great visual and startle when they roam the midways and also when one is sitting down and then raises up. You think its a static prop and surprise its alive at 8 feet tall.

What would I like to see at this years FearFest? How about some of the great props from ScarFactory. Including one of their giant pneumatic props. Heres a link to their website. ScareFactory Also here is a link to the Show. Starting at the 2 minute mark are the ScareFactory props including the amazing Impaler pneumatic prop holding a thrasher corpse, the Impaler is at the 2:20 mark. Love ScareFactory props and KI honestly needs to invest in some of these amazing scare makers.

what for cedar point
Ride every coaster at CedarPoint, except Disaster Transport. Flat rides that are a must, MaXair, SkyHawk, Chaos, and Power Tower are all excelent. Park in the Challenger Park/Soak City Lot at the back of the park and you are only a 5 minute walk from that entrance to the entrance of TTD. Then you can get off that and walk right over to Mili. Also for a great meal eat at Coasters and make sure you get some of the clasic fresh cut frys at the front of the park. Just enjoy yourself and go slow its a big park.

SOB idea
KI currently has a mess on its hands with SOB. Honestly there seems to be a lot more issues with SOB than everyone realized, thanks to the designers and the subpar materials. Honestly wonder how much lumber will need to be replaced because of the thorough inspections taking place. I love a good ride on Sonny, but it may be better to get some marshmallows and hot dogs and set the thing ablaze. Hopefully they would be able to collect the insurance and build something new over the Sons chared remains. Call it WasteLand or Ressurection.

Ohio Countly WV lands new theme park
^ ^ ^ I think he just stated the obvious or atleast what most of us thought about the whole idea. Just give him the "I told you so" when this thing goes under because an industry expert like that gets paid to be right. Honestly who would want to go to Wheeling? There is nothing there except some gambling and dog tracks. Now they might get a theme park of this size. Honestly its West Virgina, majority of people only visit West Virginia because they must drive through it to get somewhere better.

Eifel Tower roller coaster
I know that always killed me about that. Maybe if they would have built the entire structure out of neon tubing it wouldn't have been so tacky.

Eifel Tower roller coaster
^ ^ ^ Wow I think someone missed the Sarcasim... Aren't they going to move FOF to CP and basically switch buildings with Disaster Transport. Can't wait till I can ride DT at Kings Island next year How about the always rumored and thrown around idea of the Fish Hook coaster idea that was supposed to go down the side of the Stratashpere Tower out in Vegas.

The beast!
What do I do to prepare to ride The Beast? Well during every offseasson I run 2 miles every morning for cardio, watch my vast collection of roller coaster DVDs so I can practice holding my arms up(really helps with endurance) and I go sledding down big ice mountains so I can pay respect to roller coaster heritage. I find that this routine has been quite effective in preparing me to ride The Beast every year... Then again you could just get in line and ride it. Your call

Me and so many others want King Cobra back!
Delerium is a much better attraction than King Cobra. Not to mention KC was becoming more and more dificult to repair, because TOGO doesnt exist anymore.

Will you still ride SOB ?
Im waiting for it to reopen so I can get in line. Not like it killed anyone, just some whiplash.

Cedar Point 07
Name -> Maverick What -> Intamin Wing Ryder Similar to what Point Adventura is getting except the seats pivot on the center axis similar to X. This will break all records for inversions and there may be a few more records thrown in.

Fav. Defunct Park/Waterpark
OpryLand, I miss you Biggest mistake I have ever seen. Tear down a gorgeous and fun park and put in a stupid crappy mall. Sidenote, Camden park is one of the worst smelling parks I have ever been to. Guess the location of the city dump next to the park on a hot August day wasn't really well planned out huh? Shocked that it still opperates.

CP Hotel's
I have stayed at every CP resort. Heres how they break down of the hotels from farthest to closest to the park. CastawayBay is very nice, rooms are of standard hotel quality but you also get the great indoor waterpark. Honestly it is not as nice as the GreatWolf, but if you want to stay close to CP and have the indoor waterpark aspect than it is a good way to go. Breakers Express, has nice accomadations, well kept property and the rooms are of decent size. Close to the park, but still need to drive to get there. SandCastle Suites, I liken this hotel as the Breakers Express located on the lake and you pay for it too. Honestly it is nice for the closeness to the park, but expensive for what you get. Breakers, absolutely a classic resort hotel. The grand lobby is amazing, makes you feel transported back in time. The orginal sections rooms are small, but offer nice views of the lake, a suite in the tower is my choice of accomadations when going to CP. Get a room with a view of the lake and beach and you will not be sorry. You get the charm and beauty of a grand lake resort with the ammenities of modern hotel, not to mention you can walk to TTD in 5 minutes from the hotel. So my sugesstion is Breakers and stay in the tower. Also dont be affraid to stay in the orginal Breakers section on one of the upper floors. Use the bellhop service and you will never be concerned about the lack of elevators. If you cannot get the tower I strongly reccomend any room with a view of the beach/lake. You may trick yourself and think you are at the ocean. Also book as soon as possible because they sell out quickly, best suggestion is call CP instead of booking online.

Not So Happiest Place on Earth...
^ ^ ^ Disney wants it all to be about the story, but honestly Universal's IOA has much better theming, there are attractions for the entire family, and you can expeirience rides like non other. I will also disagree that a 10 day ticket is a complete waste of money because your average guest will not visit Disney 10 times in their life nor do they have that kind of money to drop on park admission, especially for 11 people. Figure that math out. Also when you have children in school and strict vacation schedules you have very little choice but to take a family vacation during the summer. Sorry but I completely disagree Universal has a much better system for getting guests in their parks. We waited 30 minutes just to get on a tram to get to the transportation center, not to mention the fact that people kept cutting line and rushing the tram when it stopped. Honestly put some ques up at the various tram stops and this problem would be solved.

Not So Happiest Place on Earth...
^ ^ ^ I agree completely about staying on property. The wife and I did that 3 years ago and stayed at the Royal Pacific. Absolutely fabulous resort and next time we go we are going to stay at Portofino Bay. I also love the water taxis, great way to get from total relaxation to the excitement of CityWalk. About the Disney characters, Universal has no problem having the X-Men out, the Characters from Madagascar, and really cool stilt walking characters themed to the Mummy and also guys on spring stilts that were doing flips in the air. They were 10 to 12 feet tall and were doing full back flips, very awesome.

Will Cedar Fair Move "Corkscrew to K.I. + More?
^ ^ Breaking news the ride to be named latter is acctually King Cobra. Cedar Point is going to open it next year under the new name Maverick. All of the construction and signs at CP are to throw us off, when in reality they are just going to reconstruct King Cobra. I am so excited

Not So Happiest Place on Earth...
Just pulled in to town a few days ago from the family vacation from Orlando Florida. The wife and I went to Orlando with my 2 older brothers, their families, and my parents. Basically it was the Griswalds go to WallyWorld, except the park was open and we were not whistling zipidee do dah when we left. I will keep this short, but here is the general outline of our trip. We had 11 people total so we rented one of the numerous vacation homes in Kissimmee. I recomend that anyone traveling to the Orlando area rent one of these homes if you are going in a large group. They are cheapier and bigger than hotels plus you get your own pool. We went through AllStar Vacation Homes, recomend it to everyone. Our plan was to visit the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and then pick another Disney park. After that we were going to do IOA and Universal for 2 days. I have been to these parks numerous times, but it was the first time for everyone else since they were children. Overall impression of Magic Kingdom and Epcot. $63 a day is too expensive, the rides are not to impressive, and the crowds are ridiculous. Also the set up at the main parking lot is horrible. Hundreds of people are fighting for a limited number of seats on the tram to the transportation hub. I have never seen more unhappy people before ever reaching the park. The Magic Kingdom is advertising that Captain Jack has come aborad Pirates of the Carribbean. Yeah there are a few places that you see Jack Sparrow, but the attraction is still unchaged from when it opened. The scene with Davy Jones in far from impressive as is the new lighting and sound. Honestly they should have left it as is and not added Jack Sparrow, because his presence now makes no difference to the ride. Here is my biggest complaint for the Magic Kingdom, gone are the days of characters walking through the park and children getting their autographs. Now you must waite in line to get their autograph and they shut the lines down so not all children will get an autograph. Also the only way to get a decent picture of your child with Mickey is to buy the Disney photograph. I talked to a cast member about the set up and he said that this is how Disney is trying to push their character meals. So yes Disney wants us to pay a little more money just so our children can get a picture and autograph with Mickey. Walt is turning in his grave over this set up. We had 3 children with us, ages 2, 6, and 10 and when we left the Magic Kingdom they were more thrilled about going home and getting in the pool than staying at the park for the night time show. Epcot was better for the kids they enjoyed Mission Space, but still the park was overly crowded and understaffed. We decided that after 2 days at Disney we were done with the "happiest place on earth" and that we were ready for Universal. First off just getting in to the Universal Resort from the parking garage is 100 times better than the Disney set up. The kids along with the adults absolutely loved Universal Studios and IOA. For my money there is not a better park around than IOA. I have been there 10 times since it has opened and it gets better everytime. The Mummy roller coaster is an amazing ride, rode it 5 times in 2 days. The Mummy might be a better attraction than Spiderman, that is still up for debate. The night time show at Universal is absolutely amazing, we saw it twice. The combination of fireworks, lasers, and the movie projections is amazing. Nothing else like it in Orlando. After spending 3 days at Universal the entire group concluded that it offered a much better experience for the entire family, especially young children, because Universal characters were all over the parks. All in all the vacation was fabulous, especially seeing as how I dont see my 2 brothers that much. One lives in Dallas and the other in St. Louis. We all had a tremendous time, but could have done with out Disney. Recomendation, Orlando is a great place for a large family to go, rent a vacation home, make Universal a must see and do Disney is you have nothing better to do.

KI Fifth Most Popular Cinci Attraction?
^ ^ ^ "Not had statistics yet in school, ehhh?" Acctually graduated from college with a B.S. in Marketing Statistics and a minor in Economics. Hence why the sample size is not representitive of the population and the margin of error is to great because of the small sample size. It is a newspaper poll what can we expect, so I dont think making a big deal out of KI being 5th means a thing. You could sample 567 other people and I gurantee the results would be different.
-
KI Fifth Most Popular Cinci Attraction?
Yeah because 567 people really represent the entire population, not to mention compare attendances. Pretty sorry excuse for a survey if you ask me.

Boys died at Walt Disney World Today
An Extremely Sad News Story... I would put money on the child having a pre existing condition. 99% of theme park deaths happen because of pre existing conditions or neglegence by the parks guest or the person responsible for them. Still extremely sad. RRC is nowhere as intense as Flight of Fear even during launch.

Cedar Fair must decide on headquarters site
As long as Kinzel is CEO, CedarFair will not leave Sandusky. Heck the man litteraly lives on the pennisnula. Ever see the big house that sits on the lake and seems oddly placed close to the parking lot? Thats why you see him in the park so much, he can walk.
