International street makeover
It's a park renovation. Why on earth burn plane fuel and money to sneak a peak. Commercial flights come no where close to flying low enough to grab a picture- besides, I don't think pilots take flight pattern requests. It's only a couple months. take a deep breath; go sledding; take up a hobby; and wait. It'll be OK.

I would but I can't.

Is Kings Island adding a loyalty program?
"inside" joke... only a small handful know the references. One was several years ago, the other several weeks.

Is Kings Island adding a loyalty program?
... then there was that time the KIC site'rs crashed the test server before roll-out...

Is Kings Island adding a loyalty program?
HIgh perceived value... low cost: Beast Back Stage Tour Soft Drink Front of the Line Cotton Candy Percentage off purchases.

Is Kings Island adding a loyalty program?
It says its a corporate position, based out of Charlotte. Like Winterfest, I'd bet it starts with a park or two and gets rolled out over a few years.

Kings Island Announces Kings Mills Antique Autos for 2019!
Would like to see it longer... read somewhere it's a 3-minute ride. I don't recall how long the old one was- but that seems rather short.

Firehawk Leaving Kings Island 10/28/18
Yea, when O'Rourke is involved it's usually a demolition... not a disassemble project- and that claw doesn't exactly scream "Handle with care."

KICentral Survey
things come across as combative because they are words on a computer screen without the benefit of a facial expression attached to it. Besides- this is a "fan site" for a park. Anyone who gets overly passionate about something to the point they become combative- they need to take a few steps back, take a deep breath, and do something else. there are a ton of other things to be passionate about. That said... I post about once a month because... there are other things going on and this is recreational/not a priority.

Oktoberfest Discussion
i agree... return the German theming to the Festhaus and ditch the stench of Panda Express. contract Hofbräuhaus to move in.

Winterfest 2018 Discussion Thread
Anyone at the park Saturday night to take in the Severe Thunderstorm Warning? We were in festhaus and the thunder was so loud that you could hear it over the "Tinker" music... and the lights flickered a bit.

You could see this from I-75 back in the day:

Winterfest 2018 Discussion Thread
Went Saturday. All in all- a great night and experience. it was packed too. Only critique: I'd like to accompany park management to the local hardware store to upgrade the apparent 5W bulbs used on the tower Star to, maybe, some 75W bulbs. I remember Winterfest back in the 90's... you could see the star from I-75. This version of the star... you can't see it from the Kroger off 741 in Mason just over I-71.

IAAPA 2018
Update: BoddaH1994, Thank you for badgering the car with thoughts of "epic" McDonalds and almost causing the car to be late for the flight. I know, I know- you didn't suggest the 11th hour visit- but "little LJS" wouldn't have known the place existed without your "help." Good week! What you say we replay this in January with the wizard, mouse, cavalier, dream weaver, basket of citrus... and for good measure lets seek out an orca. My encryption isn't as effective as a good 'terp rant.

Firehawk's Last Rites-er, Rides
As I recall it came down in a matter of a few weeks at Geauga Lake.

IAAPA 2018
The Valravyn (or however it's spelled) image was taken a few years ago. I posted that picture a few days before the Trade Show floor opened for "dramatic" effect. Don't diss me, BoddahH1994 (if that's your real name), if you want the free "Lyft"... it's a long way to the airport- I'll send you with the shipping company (VERY inside joke).

Outdoor Man and a certain former KIC Admin will be on the ground in Orlando all of next week exhibiting. It's show time!- Future plans for Firehawk's station discussion
maybe its just me... but if the intent is to scrap the coaster- I want to see what anyone who has owned a version of rollercoaster tycoon has done? remove a section of track and watch that coaster train go flying.- The End of Americana/LeSourdsville Lake
sorry... i've been keeping you busy. Conference call at 2. Looks like they're keeping this one...- Kings Island Removing an Attraction?
Fluctuating attendance is an ebb/flow. A robust economy means the local population is more mobile. I know of a of families who traveled extensively over the summer and didn't get KI Passes for the first time in years because of it. I know of seven families representing 31 people in just my tiny sphere that this referred to. If they averaged 15 visits over the summer (likely more) that's 465 times the gate didn't click. If the average spend/person was $7/visit (i don't know if that's high or low), that is close to $6,000 (including season pass $$) that didn't go to KI. If 100 people share a similar story- then you have over 45,000 people missing from the park that would have been there and about $600,000 missing from the coffers. Simple math, I know, but it illustrates a story.- Kings Island Removing an Attraction?
uh oh... Declining attendance. Budget cuts. Ride removals. Only 11 (of 12) chairs for the funeral... Crap; I've seen this one before. Weren't they trying to "right-size" Geauga Lake before killing it? According to Wikipedia (the #1 source for all accurate information...)- Cedar Fair has 12 "dry" parks- if you count Gilroy Gardens... So... 11 chairs. Funeral for one. "it's big. It's gone." RIP KI. Maybe we can get discounts to local destinations in lieu of those purchased 2019 Season Passes. (Sarcasm just doesn't translate well on a computer screen)- Kings Island Removing an Attraction?
Probably not, but could be Vortex. I haven't waited longer than 5 minutes at any time in the last decade, it's been about as long since it has received a coat of paint, and you can see rust-like colors on the bottom supports from The Beast line. Plus. it is a marquee location with great visibility for a large- something. As a side note, as a 30+ year old steel coaster exposed to the elements 24/7/365- how much longer does it have? There are a lot of Arrow coasters out there of that age and older still operating- but the herd is thinning. - IAAPA 2018
