I love the blood red fountains too. That'd be awesome to see at KI.

Saturday The 19th
We also did Fright Feast...and it was well worth it. The atmosphere in International Restaurant is amazing. From the Feast, we got walked to Club Blood and then booked it to Death Row (passing up the painfully long Massacre Manor line). Waited for Death Row for appx. 30-35 minutes. After that, we scooted over to the line for Trail of Terror, noting that it opened at 8. Within about 5 or 10 minutes, they opened up the line...We ended up waiting a total of about 20 minutes or so for Trail. We then went around to Red Beard's by way of the IJ path (avoiding Work Site and CornStalkers at the time). After that, we went back around to Work Site and CornStalkers...and then walked around and went through them a second time. (We were looking for someone...Yeah, Brad, we were dedicated). Both fear zones were "walk-ons". After Work Site/CornStalkers x2, we stopped by Cemetery before going to CarnEvil (longest wait of the night at around an hour) and then Massacre Manor (about a 30 min wait). To end the night, we scooted on over to Tombstone Terror-tory, which was a one-train wait for the first part, and about a 15 minute wait once we were back to the woods. Yeah, we did everything in a pretty random order...But there was some order to our madness. Kinda. I would recommend waiting to do Massacre Manor until around 11:30 or 12, as the line will be much shorter than it will be at the beginning of the night. If you have any "must-do's", make sure to try to get in before 12 or 12:30, as the minors will start having to go home and the haunts will be a little on the bare side. Tombstone, for instance, looked like it could've been fun...but there were a total of like, 5 or 6 scare-actors in the whole thing...but that was our fault as we didn't make it until around 12:45. Personally, Massacre Manor and Death Row are my recommendations for "must-do's"

Saturday The 19th
This past Saturday was super, super crowded. At one point, the line for Tombstone was from the train station all the way back to the bathrooms by LaRosa's and Italian Job. Like others have said, though..around 11, the lines die quite a bit. My friend and I were able to do *all* haunts (no shows) between 7 and 1, including 3 times each through Work Site and CornStalkers.

KI to have same fate as GL?
Kings Island, unlike Geauga Lake, is very successful as an amusement park. It, along with Cedar Point, Canada's Wonderland, and Knotts, are among Cedar Fair's premier parks. These 4 parks are CF's "stars", as it were.

10/6/07 trip report
So, question for you... Are they doing a conga line for Trail of Terror, like that have in years past? If so, I'll be sure to pass it up this year. Last time I went to FearFest, in 05, PsychoPath was running a Conga.....it totally turned me off to that haunt.

Building Cedar Fair Brand Awareness
My take on establishing a singular brand for the parks: It could turn out pretty nasty. When you have parks that are known individually, as they have been for some time. "I'm going to Kings Island today", etc...If Carowinds makes an unpopular move with the public, Kings Island and the other parks don't really feel the heat. If CF keeps moving to establishing this brand and it does get to the point where the GP start relating the parks in the chain as one entity...that's where the trouble can begin. Let's say, hypothetically, 10 years down the road all the parks in the chain are carrying a strong, nationally known, 'corporate brand' of Cedar Fair. You say Kings Dominion, the public automatically thinks "ok, Cedar Fair"...If, at that time Cedar Fair decides to close, say, Michigan's Adventure (again, just speaking hypothetically), there will be public backlash at a lot, if not all, of the parks in some way. What could've been just a small black eye to the MIA fans, enthusiasts, CF corporate, and the unit-holders has now turned into a national problem for the company. If someone out in CA, for instance, saw this on the news, they would instantly recognize the standard CF logo, place it with Great America...and their reaction, if any, would more than likely affect Great America. And that's just one arm to the issue. There are other potential problems as well. A lot of people are starting to view big corporations as 'evil' and 'not in the best interest of the consumer'. While this doesn't always hold true, especially in the amusement industry (Disney, Universal, etc)..it could be a problem in the future. When you've got individual, regional parks in the company, it just looks better to the average person. It feels better, thinking you're in a local park with local interests, rather than being a part of a corporate giant.

Tomb Raider
He doesn't. Nobody knows the future of GL or its attractions....except those few that are truly 'in the know'. And it's been said before: Those who talk don't know...Those who know don't talk.

New for Holiday World in 2008
No. They're adding a second one. It'll definitely help the water park's capacity, and those play structures are a big hit. Not to mention they aren't done announcing additions for 08. The site mentions more announcements will happen on the HoliBlog. Kima Bay is a $1.7m investment, but the park has $6m budgeted for '08 expansion/improvements. From the press release:

A Press Account of Labor Day Weekend at KI
Not only did they make everything faster, I heard that the cap ex plans for 2008 including replacing the current elevator in the Eiffel Tower with a Wonkavator. It can go up and down, sideways and slantways, longways and backways, and squareways and front ways and any other ways that you can think of. It can take you anywhere in the whole park just by pressing one of these buttons. Any of these buttons. Just press a button and *zing*! You're off. And up until now, I've pressed them all... except one. This one. Go ahead, Charlie. *ding*

2008 Season Pass Info
Last I checked, "all passes" would include regular season passes, platinum passes, etc. The info below that, about Platinum Passes specifically, does not say anything about processing Platinums specifically, which leads me to believe the statement I posted before is, indeed, intended to include all types of passes.

2008 Season Pass Info
On the "Info" page they totally contradict themselves, saying ALL passes must be processed at the park of purchase. http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/admission...passes/info.cfm

Heafty Discount on TR:TR and SOB Jackets
They're not going to tear down a popular, modern thrill ride for an old water ride...no matter how much you might miss it.

Paramoun theming gone
And if IJ *does* happen to be closed, it could just be because they don't want it interfering with Cornstalkers and the Worksite. And we know TR:TR is closed for major work on a part. Not saying they won't retheme anything...I'm just saying, there are more practical reasons the rides *might* be closed during Haunt. Err, we know TR will be closed, but IJ might or might not, as was already mentioned.

2008 Season Pass Info
Platinum Passes are $140 at all Cedar Fair parks until November 12th, at which time they'll be $150.

Halloween Haunt Crowds
That's kinda what I was thinking. I'd be tempted to do it...If it was at KI. (and if I currently had a job...Call back Starbucks!)
