  1. Looks so good! I love the art style in this image
  2. Blurted out in the middle of a lecture because of this, my face is the same shade of red as that track! Looks so good!
  3. Don't think they'll give us an exact date that early. Hopefully it'll be pre-Coasterstock otherwise it won't be the same.
  4. Funny number mix-up! Gotta hand it to all the news stations recently publishing the same exact story about Beast!
  5. I respect that; while KI isn't very specific in dates; they give us a range which is common for projects of this size. If construction is finished in May, then it won't open until testing/state certification happens which may take a while. If construction is finished in April and testing is finished by May, then it may be open sometime earlier in May. While I like staying somewhat optimistic, I want to believe the latter but I don't entirely know what KI means by project; whether or not it includes testing too. edit: After thinking about it, we may be able to use the Coasterstock itinerary as a point of consideration. If we see Beast ERT planned, than they, the park, believes they can get it open in time. If we don’t, then we can assume it won’t be open at all.
  6. What I think happened is the snow we had during winter delayed construction by a few weeks. Leading the the March 31st deadline being pushed back maybe out for late April and saying Early May as a last resort if another delay happens.
  7. Oh lord that’s even later, I don’t know if that’s true or not. Don’t think the park can give an accurate opening date yet but given when construction should finish, that’s unfortunately possible
  8. Hayo As we know from an earlier announcement here on this site and KI, Beast will be 2 feet longer. Hidden at the end of the announcement was confirmation that the ride would NOT open on time. This is rather unfortunate news, but likely a result of the unstable winter season we had. My personal prediction is first or second weekend in May we’ll see it open, but I may be wrong. With this park update, linked here https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2022/march/kings-island-beast-roller-coaster-will-break-its-own-record-in-2022 We got some awesome new photos, including a better one of the drop from a news outlet. I don’t see any trims on this one yet, but time will tell! (edit: didn't notice this photo was also posted in the KIC announcement!) Additionally, I can confirm some news in regards to all the track being worked on as we’ve gotten more photos of the ride this time round from official sources, which back up this photo. As per my previous graph, but this one includes an orange side to parts that we know 100% now are being worked on. Note this visual is not final yet, so things can still change. I am looking forward to riding, are you?
  9. the one time I hoped my prediction was wrong april 16 won’t be the same, but looking forward to riding it at Coasterstock
  10. I believe a more specific example is how they are very specific to the manufacturers directions. PTC doesn't say you can run them backwards, hence Cedar Fair will not take the option to run them backwards. Unless PTC themselves agrees (in writing) it's still safe to operate that way, we won't ever see Racer have the chance to run backwards again.
  11. Update on the repaint!
  12. I got my FLP ordered now; looking forward to the 16th!
  13. Definitely a couple visits throughout the season for KI. Might hit up CP this summer as well as Kentucky Kingdom; possibly Michigan’s Adventure for Shivering Timbers, and Indiana Beach.
  14. Love it! I'll need to get a ride on it opening day. edit: not gonna lie, was hoping for a Beast blog post maybe next week
  15. While we await the next blog post from the park for further updates on the project, which is hopefully soon, let's have a quick poll. Which part of The Beast Retracking Project are you most looking forward to? The first drop/first turn, the second drop, the pre-midcourse tunnel, the helix, or something else? I can't decide, but I'm really excited to see how the first drop feels and runs now!
  16. Oh even better! This season just keeps getting better and better!
  17. While I don't like deriving rumors from hearsay, I do recall hearing that we might see the old raised logo come back to The Racer cars this season - no longer the sticker. I am likely wrong, so don't get your hopes up! Time will tell, but I sure would love to see that come back!
  18. Excited to be going on opening day (16th)! First time I'll be visiting a theme park of any sort on opening day.
  19. An hour later the park posts another photo of it!
  20. Wasn't previously shown here, that and it's been on the Kings Island Instagram for the past week, but they provided a slightly different angle. It's further back, but you can see more of the track than the one they posted elsewhere. Looks just as good!
  21. Will look good to walk by an empty set of buildings! I saw that corner game operating 3 of the 4 times I went last year.
  22. I don't think I saw that refill station open once this past season.
  23. Not even that, all the improvements they're making around the park! Beast re-track work, 1400+ more feet than Racers work in the 2020-2021 off-season! Multiple ride repaints; Drop Tower, BLSC, Adventure Express, FAAC, and others. Repaving sections of the parking lot. Love seeing all these capital investments!
  24. We just got an update on The Racer Repaint at Kings Island for the 50th anniversary. I don't know about you, but this already looks AMAZING! BLOG POST: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/blog/2022/march/bringing-back-original-color-scheme-on-the-racer
  25. Prices will likely remain the same throughout the season, you will get a better price if you purchase your tickets online rather than at the gate ($80+ at the game, $45 online)
