  1. I doubt they would change the name of Son of Beast though.
  2. No media day is for those people of the media, and other people the park invites they really don't want large amoutns of people there. I have a Media Day pass, hopefully I dont have school or work that day.
  3. Also the park is Kind of anal rentitive about having trains stacked on block brakes, they don't really want to take the risk of some type of failure and have a train miss the block brakes(which is there purpose). Also good luck getting an empty train through that loop after its stopped in the block brake.
  4. 3 trains would server no positive purpose, it would constantly be setting up, thus not increasing times.
  5. It Probably used to have a Squirrel Cage Induction Motor. Squirrel cage motors provide great torque and reliability.
  6. Yeah part of it collapsed during construction, due to "Not being properly secure yet since it was still in the construction stages" There was an article in the paper about that and PKI got fined a lot of money over that.
  7. The parade will be even longer this year with a couple more floats, and more people between the floats. Also the parade will be at the park for a longer amount of time too.
  8. The 70 hour rule is mainly so you don't hit 1820 hours in a season, and if you do your done. The 8 day rule is mainly so you get a life outside of work.
  9. No I said the rides department would probably save $20,000 in time from ride ops having to clean the cigarette butts up in the queue house at night. That is in addition to any ecology savings from the ride exits/ rest of park. Sure they would have to spend more on labor to enforce it, it worked on Flight of Fear having a worker in the hangar, but in the long run it will save money.
  10. The way I see it PKI's rides department will save over $20,000 if there is a smoking ban in place due to not ahving to pay the crews to stay around for an extra 15 + minutes each night to clean up cigarette butts in the queue houses. But with that being said I did say queue houses which smoking already was not permitted in them so who knows people will probably continue to do it. Need to have some type of enforcent of it. I wander if breaking the no smoking rule will be in violation of ORC 1711.551, or some other actual law, where the person could get a misdemeanor ticket for smoking in a restricted area.
  11. ^ your right he didnt, but Maureen Keiser pretty much all but said it was banned at the dinner tonight.
  12. I'm kinda glad PKI is banning smoking, although smoke doesnt bother me, except for in queue lines where its closed in. Hopefully they will have some designated areas so the people who do smoke can still come and enjoy the park. A smoking ban should enable ride crews to get done a few minutes earlier at night, and save the park a lot of money for ecology time, etc.
  13. Yeah i was talking about media day.
  14. Its not suppose to be scary, its a family ride.
  15. The $1 Billion refered to the value of Paramount Parks.
  16. Go for it, at least your in the door, and once you turn 16 it will be easier to transfer if your all ready working at the park. And no you can't go down there exits to talk to them, thats distracting an associate, but you would get to clean their exit.
  17. People who take onride video / pictures without permission are idiots, i highly recommend any guest who sees this please report it to in operator. Its people like that who cause accidents/ injuries on rides.
  18. Those may not be elevator cables but there are the thick cables coiled up with weeds grown over them back there.
  19. They are back there, heres a Picture from EPKI. They used to be coiled up on the side of the road, but last I saw someone pulled them across the service road. The use to have all the old controls for old rides/ rides that got new controls like Kidpike etc., but they have got rid of them.
  20. Supposingly IJST is scheduled to open May 19th, with possibly media events/ soft openings about a week before. Although those dates can always get pushed back due to construction delays.
  21. I don't think this is the person your thinking of.
  22. In the original post it says they can't use rollercoaster programs such as RCT or No Limits. I recommend using Mechanical Desktop. (its AutoCAD with extras)
  23. Nice avatar sparky, that was halarious.
  24. Its not that hard for an elevator to go up a slope, the St. Louis arch does.
  25. ^ Is sucking up serverly to her supervisor.
