  1. Does anyone remember when The Beastie was yellow and called the Scooby Doo? When was everyones frist trip to Kings Island? I frist went in the summer of 1976.
  2. Well it depends on what ride your on for it to be bad with the Cicadas. I was at the park 17 years ago and it was not bad in some areas. If you rode The Beast it was bad and also The Racers with the Trees (where the FX building is now).
  3. Yeah I am that old but I see you forgot the that It was The Demon frist then the Screamin Demon.

    Sad but true.
  5. So thats what happend to Yogi. Funny web-site you made everyone at work was laughing.
  6. WildCat replied to Airguy06's topic in Kings Island
Well for all of you yong kids who don't remenber the cicadas at Kings Island your in for a treat. Getting hit in the face by a cicada on The Beast is not so fun look out. The cicadas will also be around water rides so that should be fun.
  7. look at this site, it has a picture of every coaster you can imagine RCDB In this pictuer from 1981 from RCDB you can see where Congo Falls would be at in this area on the park. http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery313.htm?Picture=1
  8. I am not sure I signed up for this but I got a PKI news letter in my e-mail today. Did anyone else get it in their e-mail?
  9. The reason The Demon was taken out of the park was so they could build Congo Falls. There was nothing wrong with the ride at the time it was taken out.
  10. I reported the update two weeks ago and a mod closed it down. Odd that they let this one open, and yes all of the Paramount Parks will get a new updated website makeover coming soon.
  11. Well I just got home from the tv station that I work at and we did not hear anything. I also heard the March Announcement was today, but know it is 5:19 PM and its not looking like it. I think most of the Announcement was in the Cincinnati paper this morning. The only thing I can think of is that Coney Mall got a make over and they are going to tell the public.
  12. The Top Gun theming was ok I can see why PKI does not use it anymore. I was their on the last day last year and two people who where running Top Gun took home two missles that used for the themeing so I am not sure if anything is left down their. Plus the theming just made the line longer than it has to be.
  13. Well I know that the park will not let you pick the rides. They know what they are doing. The park needed a flat rides and a updated water park it bring in money in the long term not the short term in years. I can see a coaster coming we will not get to pick it out but you do get to ride it.

Well I am not sure if Timberwolf will ever move from where it is today. If and I am saying IF it ever gets moved it will be moved out of the park.
  15. Just shows you that Top Gun is showing is age like some of the older rides in the park like the train and other rides that had great theming at one time.
  16. Ok reading this comment...from this website http://www.geocities.com/gmsmkrusa/kiplans.htm this sounds incredibly impossible....am i reading that it was thought about being 7,200 feet tall?? or is that just the length...b.c...if my calculations are right that would be 1.5 miles tall....hmmm...what a drop!!! Steve Some one that worked on The Beast tould me their was anoher name but I forgot it. I think it was the WildCat.
  17. Yes the Grizzly is a clone/loose copy of the Wildcat from Coney Island in Cincinnati Ohio. I am not sure if any thing from the Wildcat from Coney is still around today. I have a tape from PBS showing them buring the WildCat to the ground making room for the Ski Ride that was later used at Kings Island. Some one tould me that The Beast started out as the WildCat at one time but as they started to rebuild it things strated to change. I wish i still had that post in my yahoo group but yahoo deleted it when it became a group.
  18. Coming soon to a web on your computer the Paramount Park web-sites. Right now you can look at Cariwinds new site I think we will see PKI change soon. http://www.carowinds.com/
  19. You would think alot of people would vote for other rides from the park. The Tuble Bug was a good ride, also the flying shoes or what every it was called at the time. The old train ride was very well themed and had live actors so alot of rides to pick from 32 years.
  20. Mite be? Thats all I can say as of this time.
  21. If I have time when I get off work today I will repost the pictures on my MSN site that has more pictures on it at this time. http://groups.msn.com/PKIHistoryPictures/shoebox.msnw If I do not get them posted today I will try this weekend when I am not so busy with work.
  22. Till I get my computer up and running here are some stills to look at from the show. http://www.geocities.com/pkitower/page.htm
  23. Well chatting with some people that make Sponge Bob he is not gay just very very dumb. I am sure more shows will be on the way after the moive comes out. So are you ready Kids?
  24. Well Flight of Fear was the Roughest till they fixed that and also the Kings Cobra was very Rough in the frist years of it running. So I will have to go with Son of Beast as the Roughest in the park. Mean Streak was not that bad if they would take out all the breaks on the frist hill going down but we are talking about PKI so I will close with that.
