  1. In my opinion the purple castle worked very well with the Scooby-Doo theming but when the years went by and it was changed over to Boo Blasters, it became sort of an eyesore and it has gotten dirty damaged and even one of the fangs from the mouth is damaged. Could it be modified for the Phantom Theater Opening Nightmare? Yes I believe so but I would love to see a new opening, but nonetheless I'm excited to see the Phantom Theater return regardless of what the entrance looks like.
  2. If my home park were Kings Dominion, Dorney Park, Valleyfair, or Worlds of Fun, I would be worried that his might be the last year of Haunt as they know it.
  3. Scenes From an International Restaurant…….
  4. At the end of the day, Bruce Springsteen is The Boss. You have to respect that. Imagine if he was the one who requested this retheme. Then the park would have no choice, since he's The Boss.
  5. Those specific portions of rail were indeed designed to be removed and are currently (as of last week) sitting near the station. There is also a section of the exit ramp that has been removed to allow movement around the station. I suspect some of the work is happening in the maintenance building(s) and other areas of the project might just be waiting for the new parts to arrive.
  6. I think they could do a hybrid of the two. The original concept art would be a masterpiece if they could finally realize it (while also adding some good queue space). It won't happen with an overlay of the current facade, but it's nice to think about anyways. The castle definitely has some potential, though, with only a small amount of physical modifications. They should definitely try to recapture some of the essence of this concept by incorporating the posters and signage back in. I'm fully prepared to walk up next year to see the dirty same old castle still visibly standing there with a new sign replacing the Boo Blasters sign, but I think the Sally Dark Rides crew will work their magic on more than just the ride itself.
  7. The Racer may not have a designated story, but the ride has a story built into it. The Racer is perhaps one of the most iconic rides at KI (behind Beast) and has such a rich history with the park. If anything, the ride tells a story about the park. The Racer needs no story, the ride is a story itself
  8. Check out the absolute EJECTOR airtime coming from some of those quad downs! it’s the Great Recession Charlie Brown Dive Coaster concept The 30ft KA k’nex model has bigger numbers But for real… I’m not very “thrilled” by these graphs
  9. Traditionally neither legacy Six Flags nor Cedar Fair relocated water slides. The refurbishment and expense to carefully take down and move water slides has typically outweighed any savings. Water slides are pretty cheap, and it’s typically better to just buy new. My expectation is Ragin Cagun, maybe great chase, some flat rides, and parts and trains to be all gets relocated from SFA.
  10. Noticed this as well. Also made me realize apparently we're one of the only CF parks still charging $15 on weekends for the maze pass, or charging $35-$40 for the Conjuring. I assume this means the add-ons are selling better at KI compared to most other parks. The legacy SF parks on the other hand are still charging $25-$35, but also they've been charging for longer so makes sense that the guests are more used to it.
  11. We can make one side Insane Clown Posse for you.
  12. This graph is through Apple Stocks Map. What we see is the company in essence has lost close to 50% of its stock value when based on the stock value at the beginning of the year. I added a full graph. Gather what you will but the writings on the wall. We’re in a recession for the company.
  13. 21 and Colder becomes the Tenth Avenue Freeze Out Bar. That’s just one opinion. I’m well under that age and love Springsteen. Also, a biopic hitting theaters in a few weeks about him. Many care, still.
  14. TWO Great Recessions in the span of 15-20 years? It's more likely than you'd think. (An absolutely insane graph to see. I won't claim to understand how this graph is supposed to work, but what's with the inconsistent Y-axis? Is that a special stock thing? It goes down by 7 and then by 8 twice. Either way, cutting stock value in half is probably never a good thing.)
  15. 1 point
These ads just keep getting more ridiculous.
  16. Was really hoping you meant the one at Six Flags St. Louis. Disappointed.
  17. Plus it if it follow the original concept art for it's facade.
  18. Interesting… im not sure if want the piano man on this one. Perhaps re theming Congo falls to jimmy buffet could breathe new life into that attraction?
  19. If I remember right, that section of rail is slightly thicker and so when the portion of track is attached, the track is more straight. I assume it's angled down so its easier to slide each train car off the track
  20. I believe they needed to remove those rails to get the trains off. However, I'm not sure how I feel about that rail being bent like that.
  21. Or they don't feel the part will be here this season and took the train off to get a jump start on maintenance...which any little bit they can get started on helps...
  22. Just saw this on Coaster101’s instagram. There has been no announcement or any official confirmation but the future of Invertigo doesn’t look promising. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Now that I think of it, both Thunderbird and Voyage utilize queue use under the station. There's not really any theming under the station (maybe flickering lights on T-Bird) but it definitely saves space and adds more queue space.
  24. My idea is a multi level station structure like Time Traveler where the queue is one and/or 2 levels below the station platform. Also if they go with a high capacity 3 train operation coaster, that could make it where they don't really need a long queue outside of busy weekends. Even on medium busy days, rides like Banshee and Orion are rarely longer than a few switchbacks. I also would like to see an under the station queue as A) it provides shade and B: there's theming opportunity I really wish more parks in the chain used the under the station area for queuing as usually when they don't it's dead space under there.
  25. Where do you think a Vortex replacement's extended queue line would go? Vortex mainly used the winding staircases and the station level queue lines, but didn't seem to ever use the lower queue during Cedar Fair's tenure. I doubt the park would go with another station level queue line nor would they want the line extending out into the pathways. I could see a tiered queue similar to Diamondback's with more levels. The hillside isn't too crazy, but it looks like it could be a little bit of a hassle to get a Diamondback-sized queue on it without moving the station further from the path. Maybe something more similar to Alpenfury's queue could be done.
  26. As someone who often has doubts, this was exactly what I thought when I first read that comment. The person asking the question would've had every right to say, "Oh, that didn't really answer any part of my question in a meaningful way". It feels bad to see that they don't have anyone more experienced (nearby) working above to guide these younger social media folks.
  27. The sad thing is that Cedar Fair was always TERRIBLE about creating programs and benefits that all have different rules and restrictions (like the old gold pass perks that were like "get 10% off a Cinnabon between 4pm-4:30pm on odd numbered days of even numbered months), then not explaining it to the front line associates or telling them when anything changed. When I worked at the park, we often found out about changes because guests would ask us about them, and we'd look foolish because no one had told us that anything had changed. Six Flags has always been better in this regard. Things were clearly stated, and when they weren't, there never seemed to be an issue getting an answer. It's sad that now the whole company behaves like Cedar Fair, except with the added wrinkle of them not caring about your experience whatsoever once they have your money.
  28. You know he’s telling the truth.
  29. This is how it looks for brands when your social media person isn’t far removed from their last group project being for extra credit.
  30. It actually isn't professional though to use that sort of wording as it instills doubt in the reader that the resource responding isn't even entirely certain of the process. In my line of work, when I write up a report, I cannot use those kinds of words nor can I use wording like "I feel" or "I think". I have to stick to the facts and use only what has been heard, observed and experienced upon contact and whatever information is relayed to me when writing up a report. Using anything but the facts would not hold water or up in court if taken all the way there. Granted, my example is a lot more serious, the sentiment still stands that this isn't a good look or a good way to communicate protocol to a customer as this doesn't scream confidence in knowing your product and how it works. I fear that this is going to be the way for the foreseeable future. There have just been so many changes and shifts in passes, processes and what not that there doesn't seem to be any unified understanding. I really hope this doesn't remain the norm. I want to see each park thrive within themselves and their staff to also thrive and be confident in their product. It can only mean success and satisfaction for all.
  31. I don't enjoy nitpicking things that the park does, but things like this make me wonder what is going on behind the scenes. The phrase "I believe" really shouldn't be something they write in a comment like this (in my opinion). It almost reads as a hostile comment to me. A better way to put it might be: "Go to [activation URL] and log in, then follow the steps defined on your Season Pass order voucher to activate your 2026 Gold Pass". An even better comment would have been: "Go to [activation URL] and log in using your Kings Island account information. Then, follow the steps defined on your Season Pass order voucher to activate your 2026 Gold Pass. If you would like any additional help, please email [Six Flags helpline email address] and an associate will assist you further". I won't say it's necessarily a bad thing when someone comments in an informal manner using an official account, but this just feels bad. The first rewrite takes almost zero additional effort compared to what was published, and the second one goes a step further by including the helpline email.
  32. Yup, it's not a new sign, just fixed. I miss being able to take a fireworks ride on WindSeeker.
  33. Yall realize that sign isn't new right? It was just finally fixed to work like it used to. Sent from my SM-S936U using Tapatalk
  34. Night rides on WindSeeker are always my favorite. Honestly I love both CP & KI WindSeekers however at CP I do enjoy being by the water at night it's very calming.
  35. I saw the new WindSeeker sign last night for the first time and it looks really cool! Although it is a bummer that they aren't running it.
  36. Looks like they've got someone who's using a pool vacuum system of some sort to clean the fountain this morning. Looks like its not the most enjoyable process of pushing around all that goose poop.
  37. Circling back to this now that we're almost in October As of September 29, 2025 here is what the capital investments currently planned for the 2026 operating season look like: Carowinds will introduce a record-breaking water ride WORK STALLED Canada’s Wonderland will add a new record-breaking water attraction UNOFFICIALLY CANCELLED Kings Island will introduce a new family thrill attraction ANNOUNCED; "Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare" Knott’s Soak City will receive a water park refresh and aesthetic enhancements UNKNOWN Six Flags Magic Mountain will debut a first-of-its-kind coaster in North America WORK STALLED Six Flags Great America will celebrate its 50th anniversary, debuting a new kids’ area, commemorative events and park enhancements UNKNOWN Six Flags Great Adventure will unveil a record-breaking launch coaster WORK CONTINUING; PROJECT DELAYED Six Flags Over Texas will unleash a record-breaking dive coaster ANNOUNCED; "Tormenta: Rampaging Run Six Flags Mexico will introduce a family thrill boomerang coaster ANNOUNCED; "Speedway Stunt Coaster" Valleyfair TEASED; "Superior Shores Waterpark" So, currently we have 4/40 parks confirmed to be receiving capital investments for 2026... Carowinds and Magic Mountain's additions seem to be canceled, Canada's Wonderland could go either way, and nothing has been released for Knott's Soak City or SF Great America. Great Adventure's new coaster is still steaming ahead, so I'm curious as to if their "beyond 2026" statement was meant to mean something other than it opening in 2027. SFOT said they'd like to finish their work by early 2026. I wouldn't be shocked to see Knott's open Montezooma's Revenge as a New for 2026 attraction either. The Six Flags/Peanuts license agreement was renewed so we likely won't see a massive changing of the guard for that in 2026. Am I missing anything? It doesn't look like Cedar Point will get anything ride-wise for 2026 so far. There could be a bunch of relocations from Six Flags America (Valleyfair is probably getting slides from them), so it'll be interesting to find out about those. We might see the new websites and mobile apps in November as well as the new CEO being named around then. The future of Six Flags is definitely looks interesting right now.
  38. I'm hoping one of the reasons for moving Cornered's maze layout is so they can have space to work on Invertigo as they need. I think it may be out of the running to reopen before November (just like Monster), but maybe work can be completed during the off-season?
  39. Could be maybe that they don't want to "highlight" it and have people wondering about it while its down and out for the count. Maybe I am just being too optimistic. Really hoping it gets at least one or two more seasons and that they will do the full repair when the park is closed for the off season.
  40. As Kings Island reopens for the Halloween season, it seems Invertigo is still closed for maintenance. Considering what's been happening throughout the Six Flags chain, I would be surprised if the ride somehow reopens after all of this.
  41. I rode the new one at Hershey this year. Being up on that hill is so fun to ride. I would love to get a screamin' swing at KI.
  42. I should've been more specific: I'd like to see an updated design for the look of the restrooms. The ones by Invertigo still have the 2000s Action Zone look, while the ones by Banshee were not looking great the last time I was in them this year. If they close one of them, I'd hope it is for an eventual renovation.
  43. Six Flags Over Texas will reveal their 2026 addition on September 25th. I think the giga dive will have a bull theme, since the teaser the park released had a Running of the Bulls vibe. They're also been completing a lot of improvements around SFOT including a renovation of their Palace Theater. I've been watching some of the progress that SFOT Source has been showing and the transformation has been super stunning to say the least. The two slides that will be removed at Fiesta Texas do look like they'd be a good spot for a hyper coaster. They also announced the removal of Bubba's Cafe / Bubba's Burgers which is on the other side of Dr. Diabolical Cliffhanger, so I wonder what could be going there. Maybe another VIP Lounge or a new restaurant altogether. Schlitterbahn New Braunfels new attraction teaser was interesting since it only showed underwater bubbles and said something was coming. I wonder if everything else will be announced in September? Or maybe it will be a more staggered rollout of announcements. Hopefully we'll also see some good and fun announcement signage to build up hype throughout the Fall and Holiday seasons.
  44. Bumping this thread now that the 2025 season has officially started. Whatever goes in Vortex's plot, I'd love to see it have chaser lights on the lift hill like Vortex had. Fury, Orion, and Raptor's solid chaser lights look good, but I think having those old-style lights would make it blend in more with the area. As much as I could enjoy a new launch coaster at Kings Island, I would prefer something with a lift hill and a compact (not out-and-back) layout to replace Vortex. If WindSeeker does go due to reliability issues, I could see the bathrooms right there being moved as well, probably to the open space between Jukebox Diner and the basketball stand next to Coney Treats. Transforming that bottleneck into only being a ride entrance / service entrance would also allow the coaster to go over WindSeeker's plot and turn around there. It would also open some space back up for the entrance into Action Theater. I'm super curious as to how soon we'll see signs of next year's family thrill attraction. I just hope Vortex's replacement is as thrilling and as fun as it was.
  45. Maybe it will be the fourth coaster to be added to Cedar Point in four years (I kid, I kid — I hope they don't get another major coaster before Kings Island does)
  46. You wanna know what does have good capacity? Please, please, please, KI! I would love a MACK Stryker Coaster similar to Voltron. This would be a worthy replacement of Vortex in my opinion, and would look great in that plot of land. It doesn't have to be as long or big as Voltron, but something with powerful launches, strong airtime, and crazy inversions would fill all of the gaps at KI. Another ride that fills in those gaps is Time Traveler. Would love to see something like that come in as well. If you don't care about maintenance costs, (which they do because of Ka) then something like ArieForce One would be cool. I guess I could settle for a Raptor, but that's farther down on the list for me. Unfortunately, I don't see Six Flags going with RMC.
  47. I believe that's a big part as to why we haven't seen many other Gerstlauers open up in the chain. Under Cedar Fair, the chain really emphasized wanting to prioritize capacity and reliability when it came to their big new additions. I feel the main reason Knotts even went with Gerstlauer was primarily due to the amount of land they had to work with. If Knotts had more space for Hangtime, it would've absolutely have been a B&M Dive Coaster instead. Under the new Six Flags chain, it seems capacity isn't as much of a concern when you look at coasters like Siren's Curse and Alpenfury only operating with two trains at two of the biggest parks in the chain. That could make a Gerstlauer more probable for Kings Island, but it's still something I have to see to believe given the park seems to be heavily prioritizing family additions at the moment.
