it looked like the track was connected in place of the loop. i tried to get a pic with my phone thru the fence on ae. did anyone get a better look?

I couldn't get a great view of from top of the Eiffel Tower, but I saw lots of new wood on the drop out of the block break. So it very well could be connected but I can't tell you for sure.

No trains were present on the track or storage track. I`d say the opening of the ride is still a ways off. (Likely after Firehawk, but by how much is anyones guess).

From ridding Top Gun it look like the track was connected. It looks like from that angle of the picture their is some work still to do on the new track. I am just glad SOB will reopen soon.

As of 6/4/07 the track is complete and alot of people have seen some of the new train in the station.

Ya it just looks so out of place not having the loop there.

So why was the loop removed?

I rode SOB only once and remember that it beat the heck out of me but was great fun otherwise!

They took the loop out so they could use lighter trains.

Any pictures of the new trains? Will it be open by the end of the month? I'm going down to KY at the end of month and I want to ride the SOB as soon as possible. I have Son of Beast withdrawal.

They are no actual photos of the news trains at KI. But if the rumors are true http://www.rcdb.com/ig595.htm?picture=9 that will give you an idea what they looked like before they came to KI, if the rumor is true. As of right now we have no idea when SOB will be open. Some think late June, while others think July or August. Just keep checking here, I'm sure once someone knows or it opens KIC will let everyone know.
