February 27, 200719 yr I'm noticed on www.pki.com tonight that Crocodile Dundee's Boomerang Bay is now called, "Boomerang Bay". Was the "Crocodile Dundee" portion of the name dropped? Have a great day! Italian Chef
February 27, 200719 yr Author I wonder if all of the Crocodile Dundee movie posters will be removed by the time BB opens this upcoming season. What do y'all think?
February 27, 200719 yr I also hope they remove the posters from the side of the Paramount theatre. They have been there for years.
February 27, 200719 yr I also hope they remove the posters from the side of the Paramount theatre. They have been there for years. ...and they show it! So aged looking from being in the sun all year long, year after year.
February 27, 200719 yr I do not know how long they have been up there but I do know they were there during "Entertainment Tonight" show in the PT. That was 97.
February 27, 200719 yr Yep. The map also shows it as being Boomerang Bay. Map? What map? The 2007 map hasn't been released yet, at least not on pki.com.
February 27, 200719 yr Yeah, I was a little confused with that remark as well. At least the map that I see on pki.com is the 2006 map with "Crocodile Dundee`s Boomerang Bay."
February 27, 200719 yr That's what I figured, but the way he was talking, the 2007 park map as already released somewhere on the web, that's what we were saying or confused about.
February 27, 200719 yr No leaks, it's just hard to get a park map when they're not open yet. It is clear that the transition from PKI to just KI is going to have several speed bumps along the way, which is why it is going to be a slow transition to say the least. No doubt that certain things will not retain the movie names, especially if it's not a major attraction and/or Nickelodeon branded. Most likely we will begin to see references to areas of the park or attractions referred to as other things before an all out rebranding. CDBB will likely be no exception. If I had to guess, it will be "Boomerang Bay" by all accounts, but you probably won't see too many changes in that area of the park this year.
February 27, 200719 yr Cool, I do not care if they call it PeeWee's playhouse, I will still go....hehehe
February 27, 200719 yr I don't know if I'd want to be running around with only a sparse amount of clothing on if that were the name.
February 27, 200719 yr Just think... after you're done swimming you can relax on Chairy or even connect the dots in the Magic Screen.
February 27, 200719 yr Does not matter if everyone is half dressed, when I go to Bubba Gumps and pound some refreshments(beer) every one looks naked after a few anyhow.......
February 27, 200719 yr I just got official word from the park that there isn't a set plan for rebranding at the current time. They have been moving forward without Crocodile Dundee, but they still do currently own the rights to use that property.
February 27, 200719 yr Cedar Fair, is likely still analyzing what they want to do with all the branded attractions, and how they can possibly utilize them to the best of their potential. I think it is no secret that Nickelodeon is a highly popular brand that Cedar Fair would probably not want to loose. The Paramount brands are not, IMO, as critical to pull people into the park as what Nick is.
February 27, 200719 yr I also hope they remove the posters from the side of the Paramount theatre. They have been there for years. When I first started working at the park in 1995, those things were up there. They are so worn with age. I agree that these things need to come down now. Along with the NAME..."P" who must not be named Theatre.
February 27, 200719 yr I can see Top Gun and other Paramount movie named rides getting new in two or three years. Where is this 2007 map everyone is talking about? Also I bet you might see some Nick Toons at Cedar Point this year or next year.
February 27, 200719 yr I think the posters in question were added in 1999. But I don't recall, the ones on Paramount Theater may have been there for before then.
February 28, 200719 yr Author Just think... after you're done swimming you can relax on Chairy or even connect the dots in the Magic Screen. I hope that KI will re-name CDBB as Crocodile Kyle's Boomerang Bay. And I hope that all over those posters of Crocodile Dundee will be replaced with posters of Crocodile Kyle. He is a character, played by a local public access TV producer, that appeared in the programs "Taste of Thailand" and "Entertainers in the Tri-State". Have a great day! Italian Chef
March 1, 200719 yr If they don't keep the rights to use the Crocodile Dundee's name, the other Crocodile name is WAY too similar, and would just invite a lawsuit from Viacom. Something Cedar Fair doesn't need right now...especially since they may sooner or later be meeting in court anyway on some son of a beastly matter....
