September 15, 200619 yr The website just seems very thrown together and many links don't even work. Who makes the website anyways? No offense to anyone but I've seen myspace pages better than PKI's. Hopefully Cedar Fair will fix the mess.
September 15, 200619 yr Uh, what links don`t work? The websites are a lot better than what they were before they were upgraded to the current version. I believe that Paramount Parks built and maintained the websites out of their corporate office. Obviously, those people have been relocated to Carowinds as Cedar Fair let the lease on the Corporate office in Charlotte lapse. In all likelihood, the websites will receive some sort of overhaul during the offseason as Cedar Fair begins to make some changes to the former Paramount Parks.
September 15, 200619 yr Author I just keep thinking about the older days when it was like that. They have the wrong picture for Face/Off and you can't click on half the ride to see more info about them. But it better from the older version. It would be cool if CF added a webcam pointing @ Coney Mall ~ mounted right on the Eiffel Tower. That'd be cool.
September 15, 200619 yr I'd be surprised by the time the 2007 season starts, that the park's site isn't http://www.kingsisland.com. Whether it's moved to kingsisland.com, or even still at pki.com - expect a total overhaul.
September 15, 200619 yr The websites are made by some company out in California. They are Flash based and very slopily put together. They don't hold a candle to Cedar Fair's sites.
September 15, 200619 yr While the PKI website no longer has the webcam available (the camera is still mounted atop the Eiffel Tower the last time I checked) you can still find a KI webcam on the net. Over on WCPO`s website at www.wcpo.com/webcams/pki, you can view a webcam that is mounted ontop of the Action FX Theater, and pointed towards the Eiffel Tower. Also, at www.wcpo.com/webcams/coney, you can view a webcam from Coney Island. I believe that webcam mounted on top of the Administration building, looking out across Lake Como to Kellogg Avenue.
September 15, 200619 yr The pki website isnt to bad, but extremely hard to navigate and find what your looking for, even before i contributed to this site or even posted here I always reccomended PKIC to relaitves looking to come to PKI.
September 15, 200619 yr My major deals alot with web design. Who knows, maybe some day I will be designing the website for Kings Island. I know Cedar Fair has completly different websites for each park. MI's website is pretty bad, while CP's is incredible.
September 15, 200619 yr I have met the guy who does the PKI.com website. He is very nice and respects the C. On the other hand he does have to follow the Paramount Parks template so please don't be so hard on him.
September 15, 200619 yr I like when most of the rollercoasters at http://www.pki.com had pov videos with them.
September 24, 200619 yr I'd be surprised by the time the 2007 season starts, that the park's site isn't http://www.kingsisland.com. Whether it's moved to kingsisland.com, or even still at pki.com - expect a total overhaul. A little explanation as to why our beloved former-Paramount-now-Cedar-Fair park has its website as www.pki.com and NOT www.kingsisland.com: http://www.themeparkinsider.com/flume/200605/119/
