May 30, 200620 yr Answer to questin number 2: Scooby doo and the haunted castle Pixie and Dixies Swings HB Carosel Paramount Theater Paramount Story Almost all the shops in International Street, Octoberfest, Rivertown, Santa Land (aka, HB land) AND Taxi Jam The Train (White Christmas Express) Ice Skating rink (royal fountains) Grand Carosel Not to mention all the shows they did. Off hand there was scrooges house, santas toy factory, the light show over swan lake, the tree (Eiffel Tower) lighting ceremony, the christmas parade, and I think I'm still forgetting some. All of the stores on international street were converted into christmas shops with gifts and such and there were also many food places open with hot drinks etc. Also the Paramount Story wasnt the paramount story, it was the nickelodean characters christmas tree lot where you could meet and greet the characters.
May 30, 200620 yr I also forgot the Grand Carousel. The Festhaus was also open. For more information about the 2005 Winterfest at Kings Island you can visit it's web page. http://www2.paramountparks.com/kingsisland/winterfest/
May 30, 200620 yr question of my own.... i apologize if thjis has already been talked about. but, say that CF does not continue the licensing agreements and all paramount and related namesakes fall away, what becomes of Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle? Neer thought of it, but this could be the collective end of Scooby Doo's 36 year association with the park. I was looking at the other CF park websites and noticed Snoopy and Woodstock on the front of most, if not all of them. I think the CF purchase will benefit in the long run, but not sure I am ready to see the 1950's Charlie Brown gang take over the park.
May 30, 200620 yr ^I like how that nunber gets bigger and bigger every time someone says it..........first it was 2007, then 2009, than it was CONFIRMED 2008, now its 2012. Anyone got any real proof as to when the license really does end?
May 30, 200620 yr Real proof ? nah I think Scooby is safe at the park he is still a popular character with Scooby Doo 3 and a new cartoon coming I think Scooby will stay at the park in otherwords when his contract ends I think scoobys rights will get renewed ...SDTHC is a very popular ride. I wouldnt mind seeing snoopy and gool ol charile brown at KI.
May 30, 200620 yr I remember Siebert said HB expired in 2008, and the SDATHC thing ran out in 2012. This was at The Beast ERT on the last day of the 2004 season.
May 30, 200620 yr Hanna Barbera and Scooby Doo do NOT expire. They are never-ending licenses, this is more than likely a made up story but cover-up why the nicktoons are really invading our kiddy areas. Cartoons are being used as a ploy to get kids to ride the rides. They are being used as an anti-scare tatic for the kids to ride. Put simply, place a child's favorite cartoon on a ride, the child is comfortable with riding.
May 30, 200620 yr just like roller nut said scooby doo is not part of nickleodeon, and when i was a kid we actually watched it on cartoon network. i don't know who owns it or what the licensing agreement is but i don't think we will see scooby go anywhere
May 30, 200620 yr i wouldn't think it is a "forever" / indefinite thing. If they are using the Scooby Doo likeness and the characters are not the intellectual property of CF... then they would be paying royalties to use them, much like the Nick characters.... it is a matter of how long will they elect to pay for them... which was my question.
