Short Film Shot in PKI-UPDATED

Featured Replies

Hey everyone…sorry for the delay in posting, but I just wanted to let you know that the short film that was shot in Kings Island in the middle of January is now available to view on-line.

If you’re not familiar with the topic, let me take a minute to fill you in. Over the weekend of January 13th, 5 teams from across the country were selected (out of over 850 entries) by Avid and Panasonic to create a film from concept to completion in 48 hours. At 7pm each team was given a common 1) character, 2) prop, 3) line of dialogue, and each was handed a randomly-selected genre. From that point they had 48 hours to turn in their finished film. Our weekend resulted in a short film entitled "Justice In Bloom," a comedy which proves love is blind…unless you have superpowers.

The reason I’m posting here is that we were fortunate enough to have access to Kings Island in which to shoot our film and I thought you may be interested in seeing what we were able to come up with. Every location featured in the film is within Kings Island.

The film is available at Cider Mill Productions. If you go to the films page and roll over the images, it is the second from the top. The site hosts the film, as well as the film’s press kit. If you like what you see, there are a few other films on the site too.

If you’re a fan of Myspace, I have set up a page for this film as well as the others that we have worked on in the past year and a half. "Justice" should the third film on the site.

Thanks for your interest, and I hope you enjoy the film.

I laughed, I cried, I was at the edge of my seat! 2 thumbs up, way up!

I really did like the movie, very creative and smart. Thanks for posting this on the forums, I really appreciate it. The actors only made it better.

Great spot at PKI to use that scene, really fits well. I'm going to look at the rest of your movies since I enjoyed this one so much.

I like it, especially for the ammount of time you had to film it. I'm getting into film myself and am always interested in the production process. Oh yea and awesome lighting when they meet Dr. Hammerstein. Keep it up man.

Hhahah that film was awesome. Great job! The locations were perfect, especially the scene inside FOF's drums, that was perfect for an evil lair! Way to go! I hope you guys won.

That one should win something. Highly creative, and full of pure absurdity. It's what makes it entertaining. I have to second on the FOF Drum lighting, quite fitting for the theme you were going for. I just wish Mallard Man would have done more to the villan than he did. laugh.gif

Thanks for all the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the film. As for the results of the competition, we were awarded as the Best Film runner-up.

For the required elements:

The character was P. Reginald, and he/she had to be an author

The prop was a shower cap

The line of dialogue was "Life is full of little tradeoffs"

If you know of anyone who might like the film (or any of the others), please feel free to pass the link along...we're trying to get these films out to as many people as possible.

Thanks again!

Ryan
