shoulder starps or not

Featured Replies

ok guys don't laugh at me but does Flight of Fear have shoulder restraints or not. i went to Kings Island last year but i didn't ride Flight of Fear and im going april29 and i want to ride it but i want to know if it has shoulder straps? please tell me. thanks biggrin.gifcool.giftongue.giflaugh.gifsmile.gif

Flight of Fear does not have Over the Shoulder Restraints. It has a lap bar, like IJST does.

Just so you know, The lap bar, like IJST, Goes over your waist and your feet. It may be uncomforting to some but miost of the time it is no problem. On top of that the lap bars give the ride a whole different feel.

then how do u spell it and my teacher told me that the day we r going is value day on our ticket and i can't anything about a value day on the internaet. what is included for the value day?

Wow, try at least to spell some of the words in your post right!

I don`t know of a specific value ticket. But if you are going as a group with your school, you might be going as a group. Going as a group allows for group rates which are cheaper than normal admission, and lunch might be included with the group rate.

We were planning on going on Math and Science days but our teacher cancelled.

Well I must have ridden it after they removed the shoulder starps laugh.gif . I did ride it with the shoulder straps and can say that the lapbars are an ingenius idea that surprisingly has not been fixed on other rough loopers.

And the reason behind that is a result of the car design on FoF. The existing trains could be modified from the OTSR to the lap bars without major work to the trains, or gettin all new rolling stock altogether. Arrow trains, such as on The Vortex, would require major work, or even new trains altogether, equalling a costly proposition.

FoF was TORTURE when it had the OTSRs. You'd smack your head and leave with a splitting headache most the time. With the lap bar it's turned from a mediocre ride into one of the best in the park. It really feels out of control, faster and more thrilling. It was a great move and turned FoF into one of my favorite rides at PKI.

As vigorous as FOF was with over the shoulder restraints, Batman and Robin: The Chiller at Six Flags Great Adventure was even worse.

The new restraint system has been a blessing on these rides, and on the Messrs Freeze at Six Flags.

All of these Premier Rides have gone from being head bangers to sheer delights!
