IJST Themeing

Featured Replies

If they were doing NU I'm sure it would be on the site. But great find, All of their rides are IMO top notch rides. I've been on most all of them and they are great!!! I would highly suggest riding them if you are ever in the area where they are!

I have rode all of the Universal Rides listed on thier site. I wonder why Paramoumount Parks didn;t get Technifx to do IJ, they did TRTR.

Entech Creative Industries only themed the "Helecopter Encounter" show scene on The Italian Job Stunt Track and I think they did one hell of a job wink.gif Too bad that's the only scene they themed, hence the only good theming on the attraction, because if they would've themed the whole darn thing; we could've acutally ended up with a great attraction rolleyes.gif Technifx did an amazing job on Tomb Raider The Ride but Entech Creative Industries probably could've also done so with the proper budget. It's not the companies that separated the quality in attraction but the budget that Paramount Parks gave them...

...in which Tomb Raider received a standard Universal-sized budget cool.gif

I know but the helicopter scene is most of the ride. I agree I wish they could of themed all of the ride. Those billboards around the ride are in my opinion, stupid. Also I think the sewer tunnel could have water of lights that looked like sparks.

The billboards are definately part of the themeing, its a car chase through the city, have you seen the movie there are billboards everywhere. In fact one billboard is the reason why they are able to blow the truck through the road because the helicopter flew behind it. Also tunnels are way better when it is pitch black, I once rode IJ and there were lights on in the tunnel and it totally ruined the effect. Also I dont see how you can over look the parking structure, the cop cars, the tiled wall going down to the subway tunnel, the tunnel, and the water splash at the end as not being "themed parts of the ride." Personally I think the ride is very well themed.

The thing is though anyone could get a cop car standing still. They should have made the move or something. The billboards are cool and the tunnel for the subway leads into the not the a subway! The should have included that scene too. The helicopter sceen is pretty nice and the water splash is basilly pointless. They should have made the cars actually splash in the water even though then it would have enough speed to work but they could have put an outside power source to pull it threw the rest of the ride.

As always Paramount claimed this ride to be much more than it actually was.

King's Island could make a ton of money renting those out to company's, just like regular billboards, and allow them to put their logo up and advertise in the park...

Or They could advertise different things in the park, like upcoming events, or rides, etc...

Does anyone know if they have done any work, to fix the in car sound system?

I really hope they do fix that, I was so upset this fall when I rode, the cars are going to crap at this rate...

....or at least install the stair system in the subway scene. You know, the scene where the cars hop down the stairs, and you can "feel every bump?" The thing was supposed to be put in mid-July, but, knowing Paramount, they forgot.

....or at least fix the helicopter to where it can move up and down again; at the end of the season, all it could do was just move back and forth like a robot.

They didn't forget.

The money to do that wasn't in the budget by the time it could be done.

And in case you have forgotten, the park is for sale.

I doubt that little things that only people like us notice will be fixed this year. It's called deferred maintenance. Safety items WILL be taken care of. The park will be at least as safe as ever, if not more so. But little things that less than 1/10 of one percent of the parks' guests will notice will not be taken care of this year. That's reality.

And not really a whole lot different than the last several years...at Paramount...and at Six Flags, too; for that matter...

the water splash is basilly pointless.

Have you ever seen the movie? The water splash is the ending scene of the chase.
