2007: The Next Big Thing

Featured Replies

wouldn't 2007 be the 20th anniversary for The Vortex

I can't wait for the big Vortex Party.

Do you think Vortex will have a party just as The Beast did ?

Oh, there will be a party - whether or not the park has anything to do with it... thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

    1. That sequel never happened. 2.  That name has other meanings not exactly good for an amusement park.

    But Vortex Colors rock

It's been rumored like many times before, that 2006 will be the last year for Vortex

I doubt that they would take The Vortex out--look how many times The Racer has been rumored to leave when it is still there--rough as ever! But they'll take out my Adventure Express before they would take out a bigger (literally) attraction like The Vortex.

I don't, mine train coasters generally are family coasters, and family rides tend to hang around forever.

Vortex i doubt will be removed it moves so many people you dont even understand how many people it moves but id like to see something big but that all depends on who buys the parks

I understand perfectly fine. Roughly 1050 people per hour. wink.gif

Vortex could pull 1500 pph, if every train is out by the bell, and they are no empty seats. When I worked Vortex in 2001, on good hours we could get been 1000 and 1200 per hour.

Yes The Vortex is a well maintained piece of machinery. Good staff also. It always seems to run smooth there, hats off to ya. Second tip top crew would have to be The Beast. Great applause for ya both. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

what, a huge james bond coaster(that was clever) wink.giflaugh.gif

no really, theres a new bond, new movie, it's a well known property. I think its a real big possibility.

and some people on these boards "refrences" and " informants" are no more than the voices in thier own heads, so dont take everything to heart.

Lets see we all know its not a water park or kids area. So other than some flat rides what else could it be other than the stunt show? Sure the new ride is already locked in and will get made for 2007. Wonder if the new owners will keep the name or change it like they did with Top Gun?

A cool steel coaster would be nice. One thats outside with a few tunnels. Lots of inversions and all that good stuff. Don't know what company would do it, but I would love to see a giant steel coaster. Either that or a suspended coaster.

PKI already has a suspended coaster...Top Gun. I am assuming you were meaning an inverted coaster, which PKI could definitely use. Either that or a hyper or floorless coaster.

The only one in that list i can find that would be cool is MI:3

PKI already has a suspended coaster...Top Gun.

Don't they have three ?

Topgun

Face/Off

Runaway Reptar

You think the attraction maybe locked in but with the change of ownership and mayybe they don't like the ride or whatever is going in and could just simply cancle it and not put in anything.

I was chatting with some ace members in the line for The Beast and we were talking about the next big coaster and this woman from cleveland who knows the park president says that he told her they weren't building anymore big coasters! what a shame!

I don't know how much I would trust your sources, but I am willing to say that they guessed correctly.

I believe this too.. because "They" more than likely won't be Running KI next year.. after the sell.. the new owners might build a new coaster.. but not the current ones. So technically this is correct

Like i said in the other thread i would be content in 2007 with some new colors for maybe coney mall, faceoff, Vortex, top gun, or just somthing new to look at.

The Brazilian Job : Stunt Track Sequel to IJ:ST

I can only imagine an alternate reality where Adventure Express was replaced by another fake parking garage.

They have enough The Rides at Paramount Parks.

We need some kind of Star Trek experience. It is like the longest lasting Paramount brand and their most successful. I think they are holding out on it so that people go to Star Trek: The Experience.

A Star Trek themed coaster next to FOF where Firehawk (and eventually Orion) went would've been cool lol

Well you were off by 13 years and it's now just a giant empty field lol.
