^^Wait, a launched themed family roller coaster that stops to show scenes in the middle of the ride. Kind of sounds like some other coaster that I know, hmm... Seriously if on the off chance a Spongebob coaster is coming I sure hope its not like IJ just themed to Spongebob.

^^Not exactly "launched" persay, but more of a boost to get it moving! Think highly themed indoor family darkride/coaster from Mack (more compact than Premier) that's more along the lines of Universal, not even comparable to the Italian Job Explore mack-rides.com to see what your in for. That's all I can say for now, but then again, this is all just speculation, right?

Let look at who might be in the position to add a Mack coaster next year:

-Six Flags has announced most of their new coasters and the rest of their parks are going to get AstroWorld attractions.

Do you have an article on that? Last I read from a newspaper in Houston some other companies were looking into buying Astroworld...

Yeah there are descriptions of lots of different typr of Mack coasters on RCDB.

And keep in mind Avatar will be a first of its kind coaster. Heck maybe it is a Peterbuilt coaster.

I'd like to think PKI would pull out 2 major family attractions after all Jeff said the area will be along the lines of Disney/Universal when it's finished.

Jeff also said that about CDBB. Jeff and the rest of the people at PKI are saying this so you will by a season pass its called marketing. Why would a park that is not open the hole year buy a Disney type ride???

And the parking lot! He said this year it would look like Busch Gardens! I don't see any difference in the parking lot other than they made some idiotic adjustments to the traffic flow, and planted like five or six trees. They also changed the size of some of the lots. They cut the employee lot in half and made the other half public parking.

Yeah the park is always like OMFG THIS IS GOING TO BE THE BEST IMPROVEMENT EVAR!!!!!! And it ends up not quite living up to expectations. Look at IJST. The fishtailing effect is barely noticable unless you sit in White 6 (thanks for the tip Nick). The stair effect never arrived. The sound was broken 1/3 of the way into the year (not that you could hear it after launch anyways) and the ride closes alot.

I think the trees in the parking lot were a ncie improvement, which will look nice in a couple of years when they mature. Also, I agree about screwing up some of the traffic flow. (Especially the wierd configuration in the employee lot, and moving the trams and busses to just east of the pass holder lot. However, i applaud the move of paving a path for Gold Pass holders to eliminate the left turn bottle neck that used to occur at the entrance to the Gold Pass Lot.

Hopefully, the new Avatar coaster will be more than just a straight course, and will include some turns and fun moments. The ride looks like it could be extremly popular with kids and adults alike, if it is indeed the new Disk-O from Zamperla.

Here is Zamperla`s link to the current Disko. The movie they have on their site makes it look like a fun ride. However, it might be a little nauseating for a children`s ride, especially wiht the height requirement of 48" Currently, I believe the highest height requirement is Reptar at 44"

Vortex NU wont be anything like BB it WILL be along the lines of Disney/Universal theming I know of what I speak plus with the upcoming annoucements of detail you will know of what I speak so dont compare the kiddie area to BB its moronic.

I heard AVATAR will be much like the intamin spinning half pipe coasters, except with a bump in the middle kind of like the old tumble bug.

Did you look at the link I provided or the beforementioned Screamscape rumors about Great America? It will not be an Intamin, I believe, but a Zamperla.

What is PGA getting?

Well, it is still rumors at this point, but they are apparantly going to be getting a Survivor themed Disk-O from Zamperla. Screamscape`s image. The ride to me, by looking at the video on Zamperla`s website looks to be a little bit intense to be going into PKI`s kiddie area. It will be a good fit at PGA though. They better have a hose at the ride, because it definantly looks like ti could be a vomit inducer.

Well that is what Screamscape is reporting. I think that it will provide a mediocre them at best, especially with a ride like the Disk-O. Apparantly since Paramount Parks will now be in the CBS side of the company, CBS wants to get some of its branding in the park. Next thing you know we will have CSI: The Ride, LOL.

Because it's a prototype product of another ride manufacturer.

Just hop on over to Screamscape and take a look at the picture for PGA's rumored new ride. Its an extended version of Zamperla's Disk'o attraction. Just throw in a bunny hop in the middle. Quite honestly, I dont' even consider it a coaster. Having ridden the Disko up at Mt. Olympus this summer, I was very underwhelmed. I thought the restraints weren't the most comfortable and the ride surprisingly made me a bit on the sick side.

On the issue of Mack, though, I'm VERY curious to see where that ride lands. If I remember correctly, Thunder Run up at Canada's Wonderland was a Mack powered coaster.....it was a ton of fun!

I have been on the Disko many many times. I hate the ride. The way you are held in is just so odd. The bars push your ass and its not very fun.

And if the ride is the "Disko Coaster" its not a REAL coaster. As the disko is a powered ride. Its nothing more then a monorail with a car that spins.

Just think of putting two of these end to end, but make the spikes in the middle, be a hump, I wish I could find the footage of the one that is working, its really neat, not all that thrilling, but a cool concept...

Anything is possible but I really don't think it is a Disko.

I got to ride the Disk'O and don't think PKI would want it. I can't see the JUNK'O with a hump in the middle. It's not all that good now and if you add the middle hump it would just make it worse.

I think for the small footprint that the DiskO takes up it is really a good ride for its size. I will say that if that is going to be the anchor attraction for NU, then NU will not live up to the hype. The DiskO would make a good secondary attraction.

This Mack powered coaster idea sounds perfect for Crash Course Boating School (if it ever gets made) as guests would probably speed up and slow down through several highly-themed scenes in Bikini Bottom. Actually, both you and StXsteven are wrong! Stephen Speildberg is the one with the rights, as to what will happen with the rights is still up in the air. Paramount never sold the rights to UNiversal, it has not been confirmed which park franchise will recieve the rights to make an amusement ride. Paramount distributed and produced Indiana Jones yet......Speildberg gave the rights to Disney.......more dollar signs in that direction for him. But dont fret, according to Jeff Seibert there could still be hope for a WOTW ride at a paramount park(s). WHen asked about the possibility Jeff spoke about how both park chains were supposed to get the tour that StXsteven is talking about, yet PKI did not get to have the tour of how the movie was made (which debuted months before the movie was in theatres) because PKI was not yet open for the season.

^ This explains why Universal hasn't already clamored to get a WOTW ride up and running come next year or 2007. But if Universal would have the chance to build one, do you think that they would rather re-theme Florida's Earthquake ride to War? It just sounds easier to me to do that.

I wonder if Paramount is thinking of adding attractions based off of other movies. Even though a majority of their movies suck, they could still have rides based off of them that are better than the movies (perfect example=Waterworld Stunt Show at USH attracted almost 4 times as many crowds than the movie equivalent, which "drowned" at the box office in '94). Here's some ride ideas I concocted from recent Paramount flicks:

I done mean to sound like a Dick-o-lodeon but the other three Top Gun coasters also have their station themed to an aircraft carrier lol. But I agree with you on the crappy movie point. Waterworld........awful movie......kick ass stunt show. All those paramount movies you named pretty much bombed at the box office........but could be made into interesting rides. I could really see AE becoming a Sahara theme. Thats a good idea!
