October 26, 200520 yr How many people are going to Kings Island the final regular weekend -both days nov 5 and 6th?
October 26, 200520 yr I`ll be there for sure on the final day. Not sure about the Saturday. I might end up volunteering in the foods department there on Saturday (I`d rather not, but it will be for a good cause if I have to). I`m looking forward to it this year. I missed it last year because of an architectural school field trip up to Boston (we returned, and in fact drove by PKI, at about midnight after they had already closed on their final day of the season. Boy was that a bummer!)
October 26, 200520 yr I would not miss both days. I will be staying overnight,so i can do both days. I agree driving by after pki is closed would be a bummer. I would cry. It is a long time till april. After the season is over,i hope i don't have to wait to long until they post the 2006 calendar-so i can mark the opening weekend and make plans to be there.

October 26, 200520 yr At least this year, they will be open for Winterfest, with a couple of rides! Also, usually, the park will open either the first or second weekend in April. If they do the last ride of the season on The Beast as they have done the past couple of years, they have sometimes mentioned when opening day for the following season is.
October 26, 200520 yr Everybody remember that Kings Island is only open from 10:00-6:00 on November 5th and 6th.
October 27, 200520 yr Yeah, I don`t know why they are closing so early. But just be glad they are open that weekend. When the announced Winterfest, I thought for sure that their last weekend would be the final weekend in October and not the first weekend in November, like they have done the past couple of years. But they are still being open that weekend. That leaves them just three weeks to make all the final Winterfest preparations before it debuts to the public on Friday, November 25.
October 27, 200520 yr I'm considering making the drive down from Columbus on November 5th depending on the weather. I forget, how warm does it have to be for roller coasters to operate? Also, are all the rides besides SOB and water rides planned to be open? And finally, how were the crowds last year? With the limited operating hours I'm not sure I would drive down if it's supposed to be super crowded. Thanks for the help.
October 27, 200520 yr I might get to go, right now I don't know. It sucks that it closes at 6:00pm, but I guess it will be dark by then since DST end this Sunday. They must be wanting to close at dark. -Jake
October 27, 200520 yr darn this season went so fast.....even with working there and visiting when i could.
October 27, 200520 yr darn this season went so fast.....even with working there and visiting when i could. Yes it did go fast.
October 27, 200520 yr I have rode a rollercoaster in 40 degrees. Last year,i was there and the crowd was decent-i waited no more than a 1/2 hour for rides. The only water ride that would be open will be wild thornberries river adventure. Last year, the temperature was around 58 degrees. If i were you,and it is not raining-i would go. Have a great time. The only rides that would be closed will be sob, rapids, congo falls.
October 27, 200520 yr I will be goin the 5th but not the sixth and i am lookin forward to having a good time
October 27, 200520 yr Me too on the 5th and 6th. Not sure if I'll be there the entire time, but most likely at close on the Sunday!
October 27, 200520 yr It feels like it was just yesterday they opened for the season. Boy it went fast, But I can look forwared to the 06 season.

Also I see that Kings Island is starting to put out the Winter Fest stuff so that might be the reason the park will close at 6.
October 27, 200520 yr It feels like it was just yesterday they opened for the season. Boy it went fast, But I can look forwared to the 06 season. Isn't that so true? The sad part is, weekend operation seems like it takes a while, then in the blink of an eye it's the 4th of July, and not long after that they're setting up for Fearfest. On the other hand, we're only having a 3 month offseason this winter if you think about it and it'll feel like every day is a month.
October 27, 200520 yr Offseason sucks... the only thing to do is pick at rumors until they are dead, and dream about the new ride. But hey, now there's winterfest to tide you over until next year.
October 27, 200520 yr ^ You've got that right! Offseason may be shorter but it will still feel like winter will never end.
October 28, 200520 yr I am taking the family Sunday with out new 06 Gold passes in hand! A nice way to look at this is with the addition of Winterfest you are only looking at a couple months away from the park.
October 28, 200520 yr The off-season does bring more to the forums. Atleast the forums will be more active.
