I thought the same thing when i saw this thread. I haven`t seen any pictures of Vortex construction. I have seen several of The Bat, and a couple of The Beast. I imagine they exist, but the park might be the only place to find them, and I doubt they will just openly give them out.

Yes but even the smurfs are possible. Vortex construction, no way.

Yes, I know the Smurf`s are possible, because I have a picture of the inside of the Smurf`s Enchanted Voyage on my site. The below image I have with some other images of PKI rides, on my website. Most of the images though are not directly of the park but have me in them. The link to my site is in my signature.

You never know someone might have some pics somewhere we can only hope.

Sorry but this might be off topic a bit,but is the smurf's coming back to the park for a dark ride agian in the future? I remember reading a post on here about a movie coming out...

^Probably not, while Im sure a bunch of people on this site will complain for it and im respect their childhood memories and that im sure it was a good ride, 90% of the kids today dont know about the smurfs or watch them so its not in the parks interest to put in a smurf ride.

Same reason they're getting rid of HB, majority of kids dont know about yogi bear, quick draw mcgraw, babalooie, pixie and dixie, dick dastardly, and other hb characters, they all know about nicktoons like spongebob, dora, wild thornberrys, rugrats, even that danny phantom show.

I remember riding the Smurf's Ride when I was younger. It was my fav ride of all time and I loved the hill you went up at the very end. It was a sad sad day when the Smurf's were kicked out of their home

While I respect what Combat said,The fact remains Paramount Pictures bought exclusive rights to the smurfs which included an attraction clause so maybe if the Movies are well done and there is enough hype to surround it I'd say so ..maybe an attraction themed to the smurfs of some hype.. look at Shrek 4-D at universal.

The First Smurf Film hit theaters in 2008.

Movies are the best way to introduce characters to little kids. Look how well Shrek did! I think they are just trying to revidalize the Smurfs into this generation of kids because it was such a clasic show.

Times like this I wish I would have kept all of the pictures my grandfather took during our trips to Kings Island as a kid. We had a ton of Smurfs Enchanted voyage pictures, because I would make my family ride it like 20 times a day!

If the Smurf movie is a big hit in 2008 I'm sure we'll see something at PKI (if Paramount is still involved with the park). After all, the Smurfs were a huge part of HBL and I'm sure they'd love to see that again.

Don't get hopes up, of course, for the return of Smurfs Enchanted Voyage or anything like that...but I wouldn't rule out some sort of 3D movie attraction or even a dark ride.

Remember when they had a bench with Papa Smurf and Smurfette in HBL?

What I meant was that right now the Smurfs are not popular with kids but hopefully a movie will provide a resurgance.

Okay back on topic the only picture I have saw of the Contruction of The Vortex is when they started putting the supports up. I don't have the picture. The park has all of the pictures they will not share them with use I have asked before back when I started my Yahoo Group History of Kings Island. The park also has all of the sounds for the rides like the train and other rides that are not longer in the park.

I'd think it would be cool to see pics of the park in general being built.

I think Kings Island would do good to open a museum of it's history. It is a decently storied history that goes back almost 100 years. It would be neat for a new generation of people to hear the Coney Island story and how Kings Island evolved to Paramount's Kings Island.

They has a survey about a museum a while back, although I believe it was more history of roller coasters related than Kings Island and Coney Island. Yes, Kings Island and Coney have had a long history, dating all the way back to 1886 when Parker`s Grove was just a apple orchard and picnic grove accesible only by steamboat.

Yes I do I have a LOT of Smurfs Enchanted Voayge pictures and before you ask no I will not post them on line it would be to hard to do since Iam at college and my photo ablum is at my parents house!

The Plot is unkown paramount hasnt released that info just yet.And look around you CareBears are back almost everything 80's is back in some shape or form, I'm sure most kids had no clue who Shrek,Garfield etc was until the movie(s) was released and like Moore said a movie is the best way to reintroduce a beloved character the smurfs are loved by millions and parents that grew up watching the smurfs will take their kids to see the movie it's gonna be BIIIIGGG!
