August 7, 200521 yr I`m thinking about going on face/off. The thing I`m afraid of is that when you go up the hill you are pressed against the safety bar. I never been on face/off is this true that you are pressed against the bar? Is there any way to prevent this?
August 7, 200521 yr Author Well oh well thanks anyway! I`ll have to ride it sometime! How long is it when you go up the hill?
August 8, 200521 yr Well really it isnt that ad ut if you dont like it just ride going up the lift hill foward and you wont feel it for that tlong.
August 8, 200521 yr Author YEAH I THINK I`LL JUST RIDE IT FORWARD UP THE HILL AND COME BACKWARDS DOWN THE HILL SO I CAN GET THE BACKWARDS OVER WITH! THANKS ALOT!
August 8, 200521 yr I really dont think it hurts when you do get pressed against the restraint. That is one of the smoothest rides by means of no headbanging and the whole motion of going up the second hill. The chain catches the car smoothly, which results in very little jarring or being slammed against the restraint while facing down. Even with the hour wait it has most of the time, I still think its worth it.
August 8, 200521 yr Author Thanks guys u have been a big help! I`ll geuss I`ll get up my nerve and ride it!
August 8, 200521 yr Yes, Face Off IMO, is one of the underrated rides at PKI. True its capacity is nothing to write home about. But the ride is in general a very smooth ride. The g forces on the ride are quite powerful. This ride doesn`t waste time with "cute" turns and little drops. It is all aboout the loops and the two hills that get the trains up to speed to clear the inversions. The ride is definantly a unique ride experience.
August 8, 200521 yr Yes, to add about the gforces this thing has. I've been to the big daddy parks with the big rides (CP, G.Lake, Hershey, and i'll even throw Kennywood into it), and none of those rides has ever made me come near to blacking out like Face Off did. Dont be fooled by the small stats of this ride ( 48 mph, short ride time, three inversions), this thing packs one heck of a punch and was my biggest surprise at the park the first time I was there. Besides, watching the ride zoom over you really shortens the length of the wait
August 9, 200521 yr One time last year, I thought I was going to black-out for a few seconds. Somewhere around the loop I started to get tunnel vision, it was a pretty cool sensation, and it hasn't happened since.
