Fire at Kentucky Kingdom

Featured Replies

According to a Kentucky Kingdom fan page on Facebook, there was a fire at the former Casa Mia restaurant at Kentucky Kingdom (the pizza place on the left as you entered the park), which was in the process of being converted into Bluegrass Grill. No injuries reported and the fire was contained just to that part of the building, but the extent of the damage and cause aren't known at this point. The park opens for the season next Saturday. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EA7Wb8FvF/

It’s really a shame.  Herschend is making huge strides with Kentucky Kingdom-I hate that they face this setback.

Ive heard from a good source the build is completely fire-ravaged on the inside and the roof is a goner.  It will likely result in a ground up rebuild.

The good news is, if they have to start from scratch- it will likely be an even better restaurant than originally planned.

Im hoping a good outcome for the park.  I think Flying Fox is going to be a hit for them.
