Holiday World - The Raven being retracked

While Holiday World consistently retracks it's wooden coasters in the off-season, I'm really excited for this year's project. The Raven is being retracked from the 5th drop to the brake run during it's 31st season. This section has needed some TLC for the past few years as it has been known to have a pothole that would make the end of the ride a bit jarring. The Raven is honestly my favorite wooden coaster at the park.

The Raven is a fantastic wooden coaster! I am looking forward to riding it early and often during Holiday World’s 80th anniversary season.

Thank goodness! I rode Raven this past summer and it was ROUGH especially towards the end. It's great to see HW keeping up with their old coasters and making it them more enjoyable!

Do you know if it is being done in house or are they bringing on someone like The Gravity Group?

I haven't seen for sure. I know in the past it's been in house...but either option would be an improvement. I'm hoping for The Gravity Group overall.

I'm very glad parks like Holiday World and Kings Island take care of their wooden coasters as much as they do! There's a segment of the population that thinks it comes at the cost of other new additions to these parks, but it's not an issue for me and it helps keep the park's charm.

Good! I was last at Holiday World in 2022 and I rode voyage and legend all day - both elite coasters. Then I rode Raven and the end was very uncomfortable and rough (and I always said mean streak wasn't that bad so I know I'm not wimpy when it comes to roughness). I only rode Raven twice. Wanted to like it much more than I did. I'll be excited to give it another go when I visit the area in August this year!

Thank goodness! The end of the ride was horrible last summer when I was at Holiday World for 4 days. Rode it 2 times on that trip. I think the second time was rougher. Most of the coaster is plenty smooth to me and then, you know.
