Warm Temperature

Featured Replies

Hey is it just me but does it not feel like King's Island should be open now because of how warm it is outside. I am having PKI withdrawal bad now.

Yeah...it's too bad that we have that whole offseason rehab and IJST construction thing in the way between seasons.

Good luck finding people that are currently trained to run the rides. Tehehe. I don't even get trained til march, and I'm a sup...so yeah.

Besides, it will get colder again, just wait.

You can train me on how to run them hell ya. At least i will get to go to PKI for the construction tour. I can't wait. At least all of the snow is gone.

PKI is scheduled to reopen for the 2005 season on April 8th. From what I understand, the new attraction, the Italian Job Stunt Track, is sleighted to open in May.

I am already feeling spring fever, because this warm weather is so untimely. I would hate to see it go.

If IJST doesnt open until May, where do it's crew go during April, and how do they train for that ride?

just think about it this way, the offseason is already about halfway over. its goin fast for me.

Same here... Can't wait until March!

I always found January, February and early March to be the most difficult time of the offseason for me. Simply because I'm already off of the buzz from the last season, the holidays are over (including my birthday which is Jan 18th biggrin.gif ) and the staff here already has several months of future plans layed out for when the park opens... the waiting game is what kills you, so close yet so far away!

Another way to look at the warm weather is it certainly can’t hurt the construction progress.

Where does the staff for IJST go until the ride is ready to run in May? Well, I haven`t worked at PKI, but my guess would be that they train them on several rides as fill ins for people that are at college and will work in the rides department over the summer after school is out. Once those people return, their home ride of IJST should be ready for them to be trained on and run.

Yeah the offeseason is killer. Especially now that the holidays are over with. It is just glumy January, Ferbruary and March to get through! That is a really long time!

It sure as heck wasn't warm last week. Hamilton Count had a snow emergency.

Have a great off season!

I know, withdrawal really sux but at least Jan,Feb,and March do go pretty quick though. Spring hurry up and get here. At least with the construction tour on the 14th we will get to walk on the property at least.

With this warmer weather and rain you better bring some good mud boots to walk around in.

Besides, with the typical Cincinnati weather, the weather will probably get really cold and snowy again, then repeating over and over, warm, cold, etc.... Stupid Cincy weather dry.gif

You have to remember Febuary is a short month by a couple of days!

I wish Kings Island was open now. I would settle for a ride on the merry go round.

I already have hotel reservations made for opening weekend, so i am ready.

Please april hurry up.
